  • I thought it was supposed to be "two consecutive days" Was I misinformed??
  • Since May 2006 I have had the Chocolate Champion Pure Whey Stack in my morning cup of coffee as my breakfast. It doesn't throw up that awful "whey smell" in your nose as some can. It has (in a 1.6 scoop serving) 195 calories, 35 g protein, 3g. fat and 18g calcium.
  • Yes it is a Mountain dulcimer. I had been wanting to get one for quite some time. I've been seeing them at several Civil War reenactments in the Sutler's Row. The couple selling them are from Ohio and they make them. I got a beautiful Black Walnut one with 2 halves of a black walnut on either side, I chose this wood…

  • I agree. ...and I will do these great little challenges!! Thanks for the encouragement!!
  • I'm learning to play the strummed dulcimer. I love it's sound. I have a CD of hammered dulcimer music for the Christmas season and I love it. Next will be non-holiday music. I just need to practice more.

  • This has befuddled me or a LONG time....Why is it called "plastic" surgery? Isn"t it more reduction or reconouring surgery. Or is it that you have that "numb, plastic" feeling at the incision site?
  • I can only lay witness to my own experience. I hit a plateau 8 months out that lasted 7 weeks so I decided "If I'm not losing weight, I must be eating too much" so I cut my lunch and my second protein shake. This resulted in another 7 weeks at the same weight. When I expressed my frustration (I was SO near ONEderland it…
  • Ok...June was weird for me. dont know what I'm doing wrong. I know I have about 20-22 pounds to lose and so I did a reduced calorie diet for 3 weeks...no change. so I went on a higher protein/lower card diet with the same calorie count (1200) and still could not lose. so I just "gave up" and didn't watch ....and I I still…

  • Congratulations!! I remember well the struggle I went through to finally hit ONEderland. It is an AWESOME feeling!!!
  • You are right, Pal. I should not get discouraged...I had my RNY surgery May of 2006. I started at 245 (my highest weight was 265). My goal weight was 150 but somehow I stood at 135 for almost 2 yeard. I did not like this weight as I felt "frail" and you could see every bone in my ribcage. I felt I looked like an OLD…
  • WHY am I NOT losing weight????
  • I hit my plateay and it was huge. My starting weight was 265 and I hit my plateau at 200-201. I rocked bacl=k and forth on these numbers for about5 weeks and then said to myself "if you aren't losing, you must be eating too much" so I cut out my second protein shake and a snack.. much to my chagrin, I still couldn't break…
  • VERY GOOD - LOVE that smile!!!!!
  • I am 6 years post op (RNY) and remember WELL when I experienced hair loss. Mind you , I didn't have a lot of it to lose....there is male pattern baldness on both sides of my family. I am just glad my hair has some texture to it and is not limp. The greatest thing - for me - was when my hair started coming back in, it came…
  • Since I've started watching my calorie intake at 1200 calories, I've lost 4 pounds the first week then nothing for the past 3 weeks. this weekend I was frustrated and didn't log in anything. and now I'm back to where I started....177. Time for an upset. Instead of random calories(all within limits), I am going to try a…

  • Ginger is GREAT for calming the stomach. Ginger tea (made by steeping ginger and straining it) also works great. I always heard ginger ale is good too....I've always, again, steeped some ginger, - cooled it - and added it to the ginger ale. I love the spicyness of ginger
  • Checking in... this AM I was STILL 173. Staying within my 1200 calorie daily goal. I admit my exercise is lacking. trying to get in my 64 0z water but I'm not a big water drinker. I have been rocking between 172-173 for two weeks noe. Ideas???
  • Just a bit if advice. Get you bike from a place where they actually fit you to a bike. I went with my son, (who KNOWS bikes) and he put me on several bikes until we found one that fit ME. It isn't the color I would have chosen but it RIDES really comfortably and I can ride it LONGER....
  • Pepto is a NSAID. if your doctor said to avoid them then don't take it. If your surgeon has no suggestions, talk to your Pharmacist. they KNOW their stuff and how it workds with the body. Have you tried walking??? Are you passing any gas?? if not, your surgeon should be told. you may have a "kink" in there somewhere....
  • I typically use the Good Seasons Italian dressing mix and use olive oil instead of veg or canola oil. just let it sit out to religuify and use (Olive oil tends to thicken when COLD) I do stick to the 2T or less.
  • Are you willing to share the recipe??
  • If I join now I still have a month. Current weight - 172 goal weight - 165 on july 4 ultimate goal weight 150 by my daughters due date Aug 28.
  • I do like this one except the "don't drink your calories". My daily breakfast is my protein powder in my morning cuppa.
  • I too have regained 25# of the 115 # I lost after gastric bupass surgery in 2006. I always told myself that I would "hit the brakes" if I went more than 5# over my goal weight. well.....that didn't happen. Now I have 25# to lose...I take that back...22# to lose - I've lost 3 so far. I've been on MFP since Monday and am…
  • the smoothies sound good. the berries you mentioned are lower in sugar than a lot of fruits. the protein adds , for me , "fullness factor". I love the pumpkin snoothies in the fall. they taste like pumpkin pie filling. I add 1/4 c pumpkin and spices to a vanilla shake. My usual breakfast is Champion Pure Whey Stack in my…
