Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 9/9 - please add me too!

Thanks Shon and Renee - I really do think I need to take a look at my carbs. I did a big running workout tonight and all I wanted when I got home was a wasa crisp bread! Maybe my body is craving it because I've been having too much. I am going to try to cut those back! I really appreciate all the support and advice from…

Hi Renee and Ronnie - thanks for your questions and insights. I just looked at my average carbs for the last 7 days. I am around 88 carbs per day. Maybe I will try to focus on lowering carbs, increasing protein and increasing water for this week. Thanks for your advice!

Hi Rief - thanks for the FR. In the past 5 days, my average burn has been 396 calories from my run / walk program. When I have zumba in the mix, it goes up to about 700 calories per workout. I am definitely burning a lot. I am going to work on my water this week and see what happens.

The Psych at our WLS Center says there are 3 things that will make you succeed. 1. Tracking your food 2. Going to support groups 3. Excercise - those are the greatest indicators of success. I'm not sure if he's right yet, I'm only 60 days post op - but he does have a lot of experience! My weight has not been falling off…

I'm a Colombian and an addict! Since my VSG, I can't stand to have coffee in the morning. It's so depressing and against my culture! I have started drinking decaf in the afternoon - but I just can't tolerate the smell of coffee when I wake up! I really and truly hope that goes away!

CHAPSTICK.... that stuff saved my life in the hospital!

I put on a shirt that I thought fit me last year - but apparently I was wearing it too tight. I look amazing in this shirt today! I didn't know it was supposed to "hang" like this.... hahah

Hang in there Jillian! It's so counter intuitive to keep drinking more water when your retaining water - but it really works!

Hi Kim! I was sleeved on Sept 9th, so you are just ahead of me. I also have about 100 pounds to go - so we should be good buddies! Feel free to friend me on here. I am having trouble with some real food (even when I blend it too). I have a hard time with ground beef and sometimes with Chicken. Oh scramble eggs too - for…

I love that saying Renee! So I'm glad to report that I had a loss this week. It pays off to come on here and vent! You guys helped me through this!

Thanks for keeping the discussion alive! I decided not to weigh myself again until my "official" day - Thursday. I really hope it will move in the right direction. I don't want to lose the same pound again - you know what I mean? It's about the 5th time I've lost pound 244 - hahaha - Hopefully it will stay off for good!…

Hey Kimber - your doctor sounds a lot like mine! I went back to Zumba and really can tell the difference that 1 week makes. I think I will go twice next week and then 3 times the following week. At least I'm easing into it. Ersopher - I have lots of paths around here too. I tried a nice 2.5 mile path around my house this…

I defintely use juice and dilute it with water. I can't stand sugar free tasting stuff - so I have to drink it plain or add juice. Also, try to sip 1-2 ounces every 15 minutes. That really helps.
-
Oh Patty! I hope that doesn't happen to me! Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. That helps so much. I do tend to weigh most days - but my "official" day is Thursday. So I am up 1 pound from last Thursday. I feel so much better from ready your responses. I also checked in with my weight center and got a pep…

Thanks for all the responses! I appreciate all the info!

Thanks Tracy. It's really helpful to know what I should eventually be aiming towards.
-
Mithy1 - sorry to hear about your stall! I hope the scale will start to reflect your efforts. Keep your chin up! Do you have a nutritionist or surgeon that you follow up with? My surgery center team told us to call them anytime we feel discouraged, or have questions. We are also required to go to a support group 1 time per…

Sept 9th - VSG and down 25 pounds. I don't like to say what I lost before and after - it's all the same journey and I wouldn't have lost the before amount if I didn't have a surgery booked to keep me on track! :-) Kristopia - thanks for the "tool" reminder. It's really awesome to see someone in maintenance on here and…

Since you guys all gave me a consistent No - I am really hesitant to go back to Zumba! I am now 14 days post op - and I feel pretty good. I think I will hold off for at least one more week.... I wonder why my surgeon is so different than everyone else??? I decided to go out and walk today instead of my usual Zumba class.…

Well went to visit my surgeon yesterday and she told me I can go ahead. She said to listen to my body - if it hurts then stop. But I was really surprised she gave me the green light! I'm going to try tonight. I already sent a message to my instructor telling her that I'm in a delicate state and will be at the back of the…

Hi there! I am originally from Austin but living in Boston now. I come to Austin a couple of times per year and would love to connect to a VSG buddy while I'm home. If you are still looking to connect - friend me!
-
Hi Abbey - I was sleeved last week. Congrats on your weight loss so far and feel free to send me a friend request if you want to connect.
-
Hi - I'm just a week out and am worried that I can get too much in too! I definitely know the surgery worked so far - because I don't feel hungry - but when I start pouring liquid in this pouch - I feel like I can keep going on forever and it scares me! Can you follow up with your surgeon?
-
Hi there! I just had my psych eval but am hoping to get the sleeve asap! I would definitely love to be your buddy!
-
Hi there! I went to the psych eval today am happy to be one step closer! I have to lose around 15 pounds before I can schedule my surgery -so here I am - looking for support too.
