  • Unless you're diabetic, if you like corn eat it. If you are diabetic, measure your portion and eat it. But please, please, eat it from the cob, tub packed in water, or frozen, not canned. You're likely going to be 4 lbs heavier tomorrow from all the sodium
  • I was a size 10 mostly around 150 lbs. But I often lamented size 10 means "made without boob room"
  • I hear your pain! Walking just to walk is mind numbingly dull. I do listen to music, and sometimes I do the treadmill/tv thing at the gym. I do enjoy it more at the park, and I can do it all day with a friend to chat with, but then the problem becomes who is holding who back. I don't know why the walking gets me so bad, I…
  • My Dr. initially forbid me to eat back my exercise calories because it negated the hard work. Then my last metabolic test showed I was drastically under eating and my body has been starving. If you are using a heart rate monitor to show what you're actually burning (significantly less than what MFP says, or gym machines) I…
  • I swim for exercise, had a simple hernia repair, and was given a complimentary case of MRSA causing a 4 month recovery and absence from the pool. It sucked, but I got over it, and found other things to do during recovery. Started using the elliptical, and did chair aerobics... the intensity of that workout surprised me.…
  • Night prior - pack bag, lay out swim suit and workout clothes. Start smoothie in handy dandy rocket blender 6:00 Alarm 6:15 Add avocado and frozen fruit to smoothie blend and eat 6:30 Don swimsuit, put workout clothes on top 6:40 Drive to gym 7:00 Rip off clothes, change shoes, pool shower, swim 50 laps 8:15 ish Take a…
  • My Dr. does not allow me to eat them back, as the whole point of doing the exercise is to help burn and lose. I also do the polar hrm, and I do believe it's fairly accurate, But say I burn 450 calories in an hour, probably 100-150 of those were for simply existing and those existence calories have already been accounted…
  • I'm here (still here) because I'm fat and this works! Day 600m over 160 lbs lost. Yay!
  • I bought a new (on sale) sweat suit in size MEDIUM. I realize that sweats don't translate well across the board for street clothes, but for someone who used to do 4x.. I was thrilled.
  • Pluh-eease.... I've had people screaming to bring me anti-seizure medication quickly. But while standing in a horridly long line during Christmas shopping, and listening to Zumba tunes, I must have been rocking it a little because some dude walked by and dropped a dollar into my jacket hood. Yay me? Too bad more people…
  • For me it is the common misconception that Fat=Stupid. Fat people simply can't have valid viewpoints, ideas or opinions. They can't have a real personality. They can have only their food and their fat. It is truly amazing how people's perception of me changes the smaller I get. Asshats (<-really not bitter, just amazed at…
  • He stole my bacon! He must now die!
  • Pilates is great, as is an ancient (circa 80's) dvd on amazon called Callenetics which are exercises designed by a woman with a really bad back. I would also recommend swimming and letting the water support you. That may be hazardous though if you don't already know how.
  • I really had to think about this, because I've only been to 3 fast food places in the past year. Yay me. Almost every time I've picked up the 2 for 3 bucks breakfast croissants at BK with either ham or bacon for the lower calories. A few times to DQ for a mini-blizzard (Mom does not have one in her state, so when we…
  • See if the tumor comes out on it's own in 6-9 months. If it's pooping, peeing and crying a lot you can probably find out what kind of cancer it is easily.
  • Here is my recipe: 1 cup almond milk 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 teaspoon cocoa powder 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon packet of monk fruit sweetener. After dinner, I just dump everything in a 2 cup glass pyrex with lid (your jar is fine). Shake it while shaking my booty for about 30 seconds. Come back within the hour and shake it…
  • Yesterday's calorie net was -849. Zumba this morning, followed by pilates and kettlebell. Then feasting with portion control and PIE. Mmm pie. Modified fast tomorrow, and I should be covered. Gym is closed today so no swim. :(
  • Everyone's burn will differ, depending on age, weight, gender, as well as incline and resistance. I can tell you this though, when the machine's monitor says I've burnt 700 calories, my HRM shows anywhere from 360-440. Say ouch. Still, I'd rather know the truth than to keep lying to myself.
  • My answer was going to be.. it's just what I do.. but the above poster beat me to it. It's habit now. Yay!
  • Hmmm says the lady with M&M's appearing almost daily on her diary. I believe in treats, I believe in M&M Mars!! I often get the "fun size" (fun size my lower left cheek) because I most often can not be trusted with the 14 oz. Treat yourself to a fun size bag, enjoy it, savor it, and put the others out of the way (someplace…
  • I started because basically I could no longer walk. I had aqua therapy, then water aerobics and swimming. Also MFP showed me I did not have to starve to lose weight, just make better food choices. Walk if you can, but until everything stops aching so badly get in that water and move!
  • I think it's awesome that you are hearing that. Be happy, smile and say thanks. Then do as you're going to anyway
  • For me it was overwork. Skip lunch, miss meals got through drive-thru STARVING and doing a mad cram of 2-3 sandwiches before dinner. Diet, lose that weight, gain back what I lost plus 5 more. Getting seriously ill, getting so fat it was hard to move. Giving up on dieting because it's too hard and doesn't do any good. Once…
  • You tube has a plethora of work out videos... for FREE! I love the zumba ones, and have made a playlist of things that don't require much jumping. It's fun and keeps me moving without boredom!
  • I spent most of my adult life being fat, trying diets and failing miserably. Then my "Fat Dr." put me on MFP strictly for the calorie counting feature. Once I was told I could eat mounds of food (very honestly more than I usually ate until I binged) I found that losing weight wasn't really that hard, and I have quit…
  • I never want to calorie count. I do it because I have to for MY health and well being. Tired of being fat chick...changing it. That takes work and one part of that work is logging the calories up to and including IV fluid bags.
  • I swim and spend a good 5 minutes scrubbing the chlorine off after spraying myself down with vitamin C (it helps rid the chlorine smell). It is not weird or odd, at all. Stalls are separate. I generally take only 1-2 showers a week at home now, it really saves on the water bill making up for the gym membership. I do wear…
  • If you are on a diet, then I urge you to quit. When people diet and hit their goal weights they generally fall right back into the old bad habits. Why don't you continue to log calories, watch them, eat healthy, and you know what? HAVE the cup of noodles if that's what floats your boat. Have the chocolate, have the…
