  • Yes! Thrash and power metal are my preferences. I love shredding, complex guitar solos and of course that double kick. I work out listening to a lot of Shadows Fall, Children of Bodom, Straight Line Stitch, Slayer, Pantera and God Forbid. I have been really into video game music, anime soundtracks and epic instrumental…
  • Since you are at a decent healthy weight already and trying to work on muscle tone, taking your measurements may be a better option for tracking your weight loss than weighing yourself. The first few weeks of exercise you probably won't see much of a difference on the scale b/c your body will be adjusting the the new…
  • No lifting photos, but I love to workout listening to some nerd tunes like Smooth Mcgroove, Powerglove, Minibosses and anime and game soundtracks. I've tried the reading a book on the treadmill thing, but could never get the hang of it. Cosplay, gaming, going to cons and sci-fi are some of my free time hobbies.
  • If getting to bed earlier is an option, try that, it will help you feel less sleepy, then less inclined to eat. I am a night owl and love to stay up late, but sometimes I give in and go to be by 11pm b/c watching tv or working on art isn't a good enough excuse lol. I am much less draggish the next day and don't start to…
  • Don't neglect your legs or core. I see many people working on upper body, but hardly ever see anyone working on abs, glutes, claves, ect. Once you get comfortable with lifting try some other muscle groups. Doesn't hurt to have some toned legs to go with your toned arms. Like others have said, you can find basics on Youtube…
  • Killswitch Engage 05- I almost died, it was amazing. Slayer 09- best live drum solo I've ever seen. Rob Zombie 10- John 5 did best live guitar solo I have ever seen. Shadows Fall 10- Got to go out to dinner with one of my favorite guitar players after the show.
  • Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie Raining in Blood- Slayer (when I'm working out)
  • I have been using a cream from Bath and Body Works called Bring Up The Rear. I just tried it because I work there and got a good discount on it. Thought why not? The key to these "miracle creams" is vigorous massaging for about 5 minutes a use. I have seen a small change, but I also do a lot of strength training in my…
  • Nikkon makes great cameras and lenses though. If you want a great quality camera I would go with them, even though the commercials are bad. They compensate the crappy advertising with the amazing product.
  • Put the floor mats, weights, exercise balls, ect back where they belong. Don't obsess in the mirror. My gym is small so the free weights are right in front of the mirror and a lot of people like to be right up against it when they lift and no one can get to the weights. If you are sweating a lot or you see someone else who…
  • I'm on Kariva and it works well, no weight gain, has low estrogen levels and is fairly cheap. What ever you do stay away from Loestrin. Made me break out, bloat up, almost break up with my bf of 4 years and basically want to kill(figuratively) everyone around me.
  • Love to game, trying to stay in shape to wear my assassins creed costume for cosplay events this summer. Nerd.

  • I will be celebrating the derby as well. Not actually going to the downs this year, but will be having a party.
  • If one doesn't really like veggies then try mixing them in a casserole, a chilli, soup, throw some in the skillet with chicken...the list could go on. Instead of thinking of vegetables as single item on a plate, mix them in with things you love to eat.
  • A mix of cardio and strength training. Do both, but do a lot cardio, I would push from 10-15 minutes a day to at least 30. If you are well acquainted with exercise by now then make sure you are pushing your self and reaching your target heart rate. Also I have heard sugar is a big contributor to belly fat on women, so make…
  • Thank you everyone. I can't believe I didn't think of eating nuts, I love them. They sound like a great, quick and not too filling solution.
  • MFP doesn't have a very specific exercise diary. It just ask for the minutes you did. Doesn't consider distance or resistance. I just use it as a general tool. Also if you put in any strength training it doesn't say you have burned any calories.
  • Lots of cardio and make sure your reaching your target heart rate. A personal trainer gave me this exercise to do for losing love handles. 5 minutes on the treadmill- start the first minute at a fast walk then raise your speed 1mph each minute for the next three. Then do the 5th minute back at the fast walk. (this can vary…
  • Thank you all for the help. Sounds like eating an orange and having water is the best option... and yes that's me in the pic.
  • I always gain a few pounds when I do strength training. Insead of weighing yourself take measurments every couple of weeks. I feel it is a lot more accurate because weight can be affected by clothing, wet hair, water in the bladder or food still digesting. You can also find out what your body fat percentage is as well.…
  • Metal, if your into heavy music. Usually thrash with fast guitar solos. Pantera, Shadows Fall and Slayer have really fast repetitive beats to run with. "Reign In Blood" by Slayer is my number one work out song.
  • While you are waiting for your kids to finish dinner try drinking water or chewing on some sugar free gum so you don't feel the need to eat more.
