Losing weight without building muscle is just silly in my opinion. As people have said, muscle burns more than fat and it's healthy to have a solid lean muscle mass. Skinny fat is the same as fat in my mind! You're not going to turn into a man or look bulky ... but there is nothing better than a little definition in my…

Kettlebells are beyond worth the money.... IF you know how to use them! That is the essential key to them. There are a TON of killer exercises that you can put together to form a wicked, body transforming circuit - but if you don't know how to swing, rack, snatch, clean, press, etc. etc. etc. the kb properly, than you're…

I bike out doors 3-5 times a week and I generally find that it takes me about 3km before everything adjusts. lol So typically the first 3km suck and hurt but then it doesn't hurt anymore. So even if you're a bit sore, about 3-5 minutes into the class, it shouldn't hurt anymore - it's like your body goes numb or just sucks…

Find a kettlebell instructor/class and do it three times a week and you will be amazed at the results.

I find that when you spend a day locked away in your office writing and writing (and a little more writing), it is so difficult not to snack! Sometimes I do a little behaviour therapy on myself - must finish X pages before having a tea; or finish this subsection and then you can have lunch. But no matter how much I work…

After making healthy eating a priority, I find that my taste buds are sensitive to added stuff ... like salt. So when I was on the crusie, i found that I wasn't as tempted b/c everything tasted a bit salty. That being said, I ate what I wanted but didn't over do it. I tried to work out as much as possible (the track is…

I was actually reading about different exercises to shred inches of of thighs. Some of the suggestions I found were: - rollerblading - walking (long distance) - running - plie squats - side lunges, front lunges - side squats There are a ton of exercises you can do to target your butt, hips and thighs without going to the…

By "reading" I meant "reason" - lol I just finished a workout and it's time for me to eat! Apparently my brain need some fuel:) lol

I would think that you should be celebrating such a level of fitness. Perhaps you need to switch up your routine a little bit? Maybe try different videos or different circuits? There is no reading why you can't refocus on your diet and keep pushing the limits of physical fitness! That's my perspective:) If I were in your…

I haven't tried this video yet but are you using kettlebells with it? If you are and don't pop your hips right when you swing the KB, you can injure your back. My KB trainer told me not to do this video and said it should be thrown right out b/c Jillian does not know how to swing KBs properly. I love her videos - but I've…

I would wait until you've done level 3 for a bit before going to BFBM - there are many level three moves in that workout. It's long, hard but GREAT!

You should try to find a class in town that teaches how to use Kettlebells. My instructor said that Bob and Jillian do not teach properly and people get injured. If you're swinging a Kettlebell correctly, the 15 pound should not be too heavy to do with one hand. The force should come from your quads, glutes and hamstrings.…

I was there. I did low carb dieting in the past for about 6 months. I had to stop b/c my hair started to fall out in big pieces and my body was covered in bruises. Slow and steady wins the race .... I will never do low low carb again!

My sister-in-law and I both have difficulty with the rockstar jump! I substitute it with a different cardio move (usually butt kicks or a plyometric move (skaters for example). If something doesn't feel right, I would think that substituting it with something that keeps your heart rate up is just fine. Don't they always…

I find that Level 2 kills your arms and Level 3 kills your legs! I really don't find Level 3 that much more difficult per se - she just adds in plyometric moves that kill your legs.

If you're willing to go out to work out - I suggest curves. It is a great workout and you burn tons of calories. When you walk in, you're going to think "oh this is easy" but if you give it your all on the machines, it is an EXCELLENT burn and tones the whole body at the same time. Check it out if you're up for it.…

I recall a fitness buff telling me that drinking green tea boosts your metabolism by 4%. I don't know how accurate this is but just thought I'd pass that along. Something to google perhaps.

I would think that sedentary would be someone with an office job who is at a computer most of the day and then spends the evenings couch surfing - with just minor activities like a few household chores and what not. I think that a child care worker likely falls under 'lightly active'. That's my opinion!

Hmmm I'm interested to follow this. I just did a quick google about it and it caught my attention. I have been in a plateau for a while now myself and I find it quite frustrating!

I will def be trying this one out!

I did one recently and it was amazing! It totally kicked my butt - but in a good way. I know that my friend's husband has quit his gym membership and does kettle bell classes twice a week - she said his body is changing so much and she is going to start them as well. 100% DO IT!
