  • Hi Debra and Welcome! You definatly need to get your calories up. Your body needs fuel and if you run yourself to low it will start storing extra just to get by! I would suggest raising your calories to your reccomended BMR and increasing your excercise. Also make sure every meal is a good mix of complex carbs and lean…

  • you store enough glycogen in your muscles to take you through the first 30-45 min of the race. I usually start feeling the need to refuel at about 45 min into my race. Then you should need about 100 cals of whichever you choose, gel packs, gummies, or sports drinks every 30 to 45 min after that. ( I like the gel packs).…

  • If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." --John Bingham
  • The weekends are a huge challenge for me too. Try allowing yourself to cheat. But keep it moderate like one meal each day can be whatever you want as long as you stay on track for the other 2 meals and snacks. just keep trying.

Whenever I am tempted to buy fast food or eat something bad for me I think about how eating a clean food like fruit veggies or whole grain bread with PB will help build healthy cells in my body and give me fuel to last. and how the bad foods will actually break down cells in my body and do damage…
  • Losing 5lbs in the first week is pretty typical. Your body is getting rid of all the extra water you have stored. It will slow down and you should be losing 1-2lbs after this first week.

If your walking try biking etc. Your body gets used to doing the same activities. If you use your muscles in a way they are not used to it will shock them and you will see results!…
