  • Thanks for all the advice – its taken me a little while to work my way through all the posts! You’re all wonderful and helpful and I appreciate it so much. I’m not sure where to start. I have been trying all the little tips and tricks, but its just really been overwhelming for the last several months. I have more than I…
  • I'm 24 and have quite a ways to go still. Add me? I'll go through and add some people when I get home tomorrow and have my laptop =)
  • I hardly ever wear skirts or anything very pretty because I don't feel pretty or girly. But last month, I had just gotten back from a festival and it was literally the only thing I had clean, so I wore a skirt and white tshirt (I hardly ever wear white either. I feel like it makes me look bigger). I was sunburnt as hell…
  • Count me in too. 40lbs more by New Years would push me up to a major goal. I think we can do it =]
  • Supernatural Buffy Leverage Big Bang Theory Being Human (when I can catch it on) True Blood - but only the first few seasons! My to-do list as soon as I get my tv fixed is Game of Thrones, Dr Who, and Sherlock. I don't know when that'll be though :c
  • Nothing better than a husky!
  • Thanks for the kind words. It makes me feel a little bit better to know that I'm not alone, at least. I spent a couple hours calling local-ish endos to try and get help. Every single one that I spoke too was quite rude and there's no way I can get in anytime soon. Even Cleveland Clinic is booked until August, but the…
  • Also, I've gotten a ton of friend requests after this. Awesome =] Thanks!
  • Thanks for the ideas!! I'm definitely taking plenty of water, plus there's free water at the festival. I'm looking online for ideas too (pinterest, where every other recipe comes from!) and I'm getting more and more excited. I don't know if I'll have a fire to cook over, so that really limits things, but I can manage. My…
  • Thanks everyone :flowerforyou: You made me cry and made me feel good about myself. Thanks for the support and all the kind words. MFP is such a great place!
  • Can you tell me how much ginger you aim for, or where you found the suggested amount? I've thought about it, but I can't seem to decide on an amount. I do vitamin D, cinnamon, fish oil, turmeric, chia seeds, and brazil nuts. I forget some of them quite often, but I try lol I also do all organic (except for the fish oil)…
  • I don't know about Sea Kelp tablets, but I buy kelp powder in the spices section of my local health store. It has a ton of health benefits and I love the taste, but I haven't eaten very regularly because it interacts with my warfarin. I love it with scrambled eggs lol
  • A little victory tonight - I went for the nightly walk with my pup and had to use one hand to pretty much old my pants up. I'm glad it was after dark and no one else was around! Its a good problem to have though xD
  • Its healthy because it doesn't have bread, right? Anyway, that'll be my excuse >.>
  • You look awesome - congrats =]
  • I've been on thyroid meds since I was about 11, so that's 13 years now. Only last year did I find a doctor that was on board with Armour and I switched and I feel so much better. Its amazing. I haven't had pounds falling off or anything, but I don't feel like crap all the time. I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's and…
  • I love them and usually add them to smoothies in the mornings. I'm not sure about any amazing weight loss benefits, but they definitely keep you fuller longer. I love how they get all gelatin-y too, but I'm weird lol I also dump some in my dog's food every night and it seems to be helping him stay full (even one of my dogs…
  • I didn't realize anyone else had replied to this, sorry!! Armour isn't a generic of Synthroid. Its a different medication entirely and supplements both T4 and T3, whereas Synthroid only does one. Women tend to do better on Armour than Synthroid, or at least from what I've read. I was taking a pretty high dose of Synthroid,…
  • Music is my best option when I'm stressed out. Sometimes though, if its really bad, they only thing you can do is take a nap lol If I have time (which I usually don't, hence the stress), I love to take a few hours to play the Sims 3, but my computer has died on me so I can't do that anymore. I also cook a lot when I'm…
  • Thanks Mindy! They increased my dosage by 33%, so hopefully that'll help some. It'll be this weekend before I can actually pick up the prescription, so I think I'm just gonna break a pill into thirds and add that. I still feel like death though. God, I have never felt this bad, even when I wasn't taking any synthroid at…
  • I think my biggest issues are consistently sugar and sodium. Sodium is easier to fix because whenever I cook, I can avoid that. Lately I haven't been home enough to cook, so I've been eating out a little bit and Subway always has tons of sodium. Sugar though...ugh. I'm actually not too worried about it just because I know…
  • Great challenge Mark =] Sodium is one of the biggies that I have issues keeping green. I don't know where it all comes from :/ I make a lot of my own seasoning mixes and dressings and you'd be surprised how much sodium that cuts out of my diet. Tastes better too!
  • I'm a sucker for string cheese. A lot of times I'll toss a stick in my bag with some fruit before heading to class. When I'm at home (or when my dog comes to class with me), I cut calories by splitting the cheese with my dog. I give her the white part, and I get the yellow part. She even sings for it =] Smoothies work well…
  • I just turned 23 and I feel like I'm 73. I could write you on a book about, but that pretty much sums everything up.
  • Thanks everybody! I've already been to the doctor and been checked out and all (I spend an ungodly amount of time with doctors, I swear). Of course, the doctors told me that it was great I was wanting to lose weight, but didn't have any good advice on how exactly to go about it. I have been walking a lot more, but I'm…
  • I have 100+ to lose too. Feel free to add me as well =]
  • I totally agree. I'm not even sure if I ever want to have kids, but I'm 23 so I've got time to think on that. I'm just trying to get myself healthy!
  • http://beyondexisting.blogspot.com/ It's not much yet, but I've really just started. I'd appreciate any readers! I'm gonna follow a few of your blogs too
  • I recently started a prescription to help regulate sugar/insulin levels, and was supposed to take it twice a day with my meals. I did that for a few months, then started having cinnamon in my morning smoothie. Less than a month after adding the cinnamon, I was able to discontinue the meds and just use cinnamon instead. I'm…
  • I just joined this group, but I definitely feel your pain. PCOS is a pain and causes so many other issues, but I think the most frustrating thing is what my doctor -hasn't- told me. You can learn a lot by reading online for yourself and its really surprising. I was diagnosed with PCOS in highschool, so maybe 5-7 years ago.…
