Hi! I am new to the group and just had RNY 2 weeks ago on 11\3\15 .... :p SW: 353 CW: 323.....down 30lbs started in size 26-28. Not sure now but everything is falling off lol.

Instead of burning calories it makes your body burn fat. Your body usually burns carbs for energy. When you cut your carbs then your body has to find a new source of energy. It starts burning fat instead. If you google it I'm sure you could get a better understanding of how it works.

I love a pear salad made with pear halves shredded cheddar and mayo. It doesn't seem as weird mixed with fruit to me, I don't know why the cookies have me so freaked out .

I have heard of Cheddar on apple pie before. It was just weird seeing it on cookies. I like the salty/sweet stuff so I guess I will just have to try it. ... She also puts mayonnaise in her Shrimp flavored Ramen noodles. Took her forever to get me to try that because I was like EWE!!! But it is awesome! :love:

Nicely tell them they cannot survive off of a 500 calorie clear liquid diet everyday while training to run a marathon. They will defriend you and tell you maybe you should try it and you might lose a few pounds lol:drinker: :laugh:

Not true. I lost 85 lbs on low carb and when i was in maintenance I was eating whole grain breads and pastas some fruit and even starchy vegetable and kept it off for 2 years. Only gaining it back after my grandfather passed and I turned to emotionally eating .... and a lot of chips, cake and ice cream.
