That infamous cry from my scale that day:

    "One at a time, bishes!"

(Seriously...that was a MAJOR wake up call for me, seeing that number on the scale...and that phrase goes through my head when I feel like quitting.)

"Just do it!" It's short, a good kick in the behind and right to the point basically summing up success in a nutshell. You know everything you have to do hopefully and have a plan worked out? Good now just do it! Consistently day after day that's all there is. You can whine and make excuses but bottom line is you either do what you have to do or you don't.

Sometimes I feel the need to chant something to push myself. When I want to quit I just repeat:

Pain is temporary, pride is forever!!

I chant too...:blushing: I constantly say "come on baby girl, you can do this...it's your mind giving up, not your body"

I do this under my breath too. When running, I mostly count starting with 1 upto 800 or whatever, just to take my mind off it. Also lots of "c'mon. c'mon. you got this. keep going. keep going." and when lifting it's mostly "just get to 6. get to 6. get to 6." (my last set is a set of 6, so it helps me get to my last set and it helps me to push through to get all of those reps.

There's several, but this one I use when I feel down "When you feel like quitting, think about why you started"

:flowerforyou: Never give an inch! We can do anything we set our minds to! Hang in there. It's all in your head. These are just a few that I have heard in my life. :glasses: Give me a few minutes & I'll think of more.
I have had quite a few changes in my life in the last year. I retired, moved to a small town near dear friends. I was so very tired from my job, that I did Nothing for months. My back is so painful from arthritis, that I take pain meds 2-3 times a day. Now I feel like I have sat around long enough! I'm walking at least 1 mile a day, sometimes more. I don't think I want to run a marathon or even 5 K. My knees need surgery, but I'm waiting until August. I need to be more active and I am planning a trip to Mt Rushmore in June.
