  • I tried to make it once with onion, garlic, salt and pepper... Took one bite and threw it out. I want to try again so I will follow this thread...
  • I use protein powder with vanilla flavor. I mix my shakes with a banana and frozen berries. Better than any milkshake!
  • 27 year old business student in Germany :) Feel free to add me, anybody! :)
  • For breakfast? No. As part of breakfast/lunch/snack: ooooh yes!!!
  • I second that. I have a protein shake for breakfast every single day. If I don't have time I pour it in a tumbler and go.
  • I personally find that having breakfast helps me stay full throughout the day. If I skip it, I get hungry and binge around noon. But, I am also not a breakfast person - I don't like making it and I just don't like EATING in the morning. That's why I have protein shakes every morning after my workout. It is easy to make,…
  • Totally up for it. Forget all those Debbie Downers, 30 lbs might not work for everyone but it sure can work for some people. As long as we don't beat ourselves up if we don't reach that goal, it is all good!! Add me if you want :)
  • Baby steps!! I started at 275+. At 5'6" that is ridiculous. I strived for health, not for a certain weight, I think that is when it really started working for me. If you think about "Oh I have 80 more lbs to go", chances are you will get discouraged. If you focus on today - today you are going to eat healthy, today you are…
  • What helped for me: plan, plan, plan. Plan your meals every morning and try to fill it up with foods that will keep you full. This means: protein, good carbs, healthy fats! I always start by planning my dinners (usually 100g of turkey breast and some veggies) and my breakfasts (always a protein smoothie with banana and…
  • I say stick to what MFP tells you first. Use it as a guideline. See if it works for you - does the weight come off? Do you have enough energy throughout the day? Do you feel hungry or satisfied (not full!)? Go from there. Eating too little will backfire in the long run.
  • Don't worry about sugar in fruit. Eat it, you need the vitamins.
  • It is recommended you do it whenever you have the most energy - more energy = more energy put into it = better results. For me, that is morning time right after I get up.
  • I followed a guy on YouTube who did it for a year. He had absolutely amazing results but he did say that it would be really hard for him to get back to normal eating, because he will gain a lot of weight back and his stomach is probably not ready for it. I don't think juicing is good as it removes the fibre from your…
  • Welcome :) This is my second time on MFP. FR sent! As for the skinny soups: "skinny" often means low-fat and low-fat often means added sugar/carbs. You can also play with your macros, but like someone else said also: if you just want to lose weight, calories in vs calories out.
  • First of all: from what I can see on your photo, you're definitely blessed with a pretty face, not everybody is ;) If you want to do something about your hair, you can - take good care of it and with getting healthier, your hair will look healthier. As for me: I am blessed with good skin, good lips, good eyes and "good…
  • So many people have already said what I think: I think it is great to accept yourself at any weight, but I don't think it is OK to accept your weight at any weight... Big difference there. The whole message we are giving children that you are OK no matter what size you are is wrong to me. It is like saying "starve…
  • You do a cleanse, lose 15 lbs in 1 week and then eat normal again, gain a pound and you're worried? I say, see a nutritionist and maybe learn about food and the effects of it before you start losing weight. You might be hurting your body. Not trying to be mean but for people who have been on a weight loss journey for a few…
  • I don't like excuses. I don't pass out easily and my pain level is high so cramps are not an excuse to not work out. So yes :) I stick to my routine (6 days a week).
  • I weigh every single morning - first thing after getting out of bed and using the bathroom. But I definitely do not recommend this to anyone. It can mess with your brain since fluctuations/water will make your weight go up even though you've lost fat. So, unless you know that the scale does lie to you, don't do it every…
  • I definitely learned from experience not to talk about dieting or losing weight with anyone other than my fiancé. People will always think they know better. They will always have a comment or something to say/ask. Stop talking about food, working out, weight. Don't engage in those pathetic conversations, just ignore it.…
  • Definitely get rid of the clothes that are too big for you. To me, it's such a motivation to be able to say "I don't fit these anymore" and I have no trouble throwing them out. Clothes that are not flattering shouldn't even enter your closet. Every time I lose more weight, I have to reassess what goes and what stays and I…
  • It might sound stupid and not something every woman would do but watching sports always helps. I get so inspired to get fit that I don't even want to sit there and watch it while eating crap. What also helps is to go to tumblr and look at inspirational quotes and healthy foods. Always helps. Or take up a new hobby that can…
