  • I'm in the same boat. I can do a great job logging and eating all day. I complete my food log and sitting on the couch around 8-9pm I just want something salty soooo bad. Sometimes I've been giving in to popcorn with butter flavour which isn't TOO bad but it's hard. I had ketchup chips last night that put me over. :(
  • I think I may be in for this. But it will not be easy as I love my evening beer (or three) or glass of wine. Finances don't allow for it though so this could be good in more than one way!
  • You look incredible! Fantastic job and just look at that confidence!
  • The evening is always worst for me with snacking so I leave myself some calorie room for the end of the day. That way, if I do have a craving, I can have *some* and not feel guilty. And if I escape that craving, I've just had a larger deficit! When I don't have room - I drink a glass of water.
  • I have a Black and Decker ProBlend that was a gift about 5 or 6 years ago. It was used minimally until the past 30 days where I've been making fruit smoothies (no ice, it can't handle ice - but it does frozen fruit just fine) 4-5 days a week. It's been working great for me. I've read awful reviews on this blender but so…
  • I also feel sick, lethargic, tired, etc after eating junk. Fast food will definitely do this to me but really any heavy or fried food. I try to stay away from it but also struggle with cravings and saying no. I have stopped eating fast food and if I have to - I go for the healthier choices like the wraps on the menu which…
  • I don't log those days.
  • Tonight is a chicken Caesar wrap with a glass of wine! Yum!
  • Sunday lazy lunch. Tuna sandwich on whole wheat and Caesar salad.
  • I'm 5'11, 150 lbs and have a size 10 waist. My goal was 135lbs but I've upped that to 145 lbs as I don't believe my initial goal is the healthiest choice for myself. I have been focusing on working out more lately and my weight has plateaued - which I'm ok with because I believe that is muscle building while burning fat. I…
  • Winnipeg, Manitoba here - I sympathize. This morning I walked outside and the snow is blowing, traffic was barely moving and roads are icy. This weather makes me want to cuddle up in the evening with a hearty food item, get tucked under blankets, put a show on and sip wine. How I deal with these cravings is moderation. I…
  • I'm not familiar with the Naked juice smoothies or their size in relation to the 270 calories but I will share with you a couple ideas I use regularly in the mornings. I'm a berry fan and love sweet smoothies. 1 banana (105 cal for medium) .5 cup of frozen unsweetened strawberries (40 cal) .25 cup skim milk (23 cal) .25…
  • Eat foods that you can drink. Smoothies, jello, ice cream, creamy soups, etc. But there's no need to force things as long as you stay hydrated.
  • I recently had dental surgery that resulted in complications and it took me over a week to be able to eat anything more than a scoop of ice cream and a cup of broth. You will live. It's more important to let your body heal up than to force food down. Keep hydrated.
  • In reading your post it sounds like you consider a cheat day going all out. Here is what I consider a cheat day - I went to an all you can eat buffet on the weekend and ate more than my daily intake in one sitting. That was my cheat day. I don't do it once a week, maybe once a month. It was not pre-meditated and I didn't…
  • I take a little bit of everything that I want - that way I'm not filling to the brim but I got to taste everything. I've never been a big one for desserts, I'm more of a salty fan. Stuffing is my weakness. Overall, it's the holidays and I won't count - I'll eat and drink and be merry! I will have less than I normally would…
  • I don't consider myself a 'clean eater', I don't really know what that defines to be totally honest. I choose to eat as little processed food as possible, choosing fresh ingredients and snack items over pre-made or pre-packaged. For example, I have smoothies in the morning for breakfast which consist of a couple different…
  • I second the burritos suggestions. I throw a few tablespoons on a whole wheat tortilla, a light sprinkle of shredded cheese, a dab of sour cream, drizzle of salsa and a strip or two of pan seared steak. Yum! About 400 calories the way I do it and a very filling and delicious dinner.
  • I weigh myself every two weeks. I don't stress about a pound or two in the wrong direction. I look in the mirror and I see progress, I feel great every day - day in and day out - so the scale is just a reference point.
  • Good for you! So proud of you!
  • Yes, this.
  • If he sees you requesting support as an annoyance, it's only going to get worse with time. If you want to be with him (surely he has positive traits), learn to do these things on your own while he sits at home doing nothing. If you want someone to support you, be active on their days off - sounds like you should find…
  • Granola is yummy - love it with vanilla yogurt and blueberries. I used to have it often but it is a bit too much calories for me in the morning so I just stick to that as a treat breakfast now and then.
  • I've sent you a request. I'm just over 1300 for the day and I find that to be a very reasonable goal. If I make the right choices for the day, sometimes I struggle to fill my 1300 - along with exercise.
  • If sugar is your weakness - I would cut it out completely for at least a month or so and then slowly reintroduce only natural sugars like fruits. Moderation might not be the easiest method for you to start off with as temptation of having those foods around will likely drive you a little mad. If you want sweets, force…
  • Not being a morning person, I don't allot myself time to cook or prepare much food in the mornings. I usually stay in bed until I have to get up and out the door - along with readying my two young kids for school. I have found a great morning kick is to throw some frozen fruits in a blender (my go to is a banana,…
  • Age is just a number. If it's legal and it feels right - just do it! I have had great experiences with older men (10 and 20 years my senior...I'm 29) both in relationships and in the bedroom. The key is the confidence and experience that comes with age. I have trouble with attraction to men my age, even now. Physically,…
  • I'm commenting specifically because of the bloating issue you describe. I have gastritis and lack a gallbladder. Both of those things cause me to bloat progressively during the day. In the morning, I wake up with a flat tummy and by late afternoon, I can look 6 months pregnant. Food choices are number 1. That time of the…
  • Glad to help. Sometimes I find myself getting into that 'all or nothing' mindset but that can be setting ourselves up for failure if we just don't have it in us at the time. Start out with something manageable and you will be proud of yourself and motivated to do more. Cheers!
  • Yes, we can. I get the same way except at times, I'm so busy that I barely have time to sit down for a sec, nevermind packing food ahead of time and this is where I falter because I will fall back on the fast food as a quick bite to eat when I'm in a rush. Another area I'm going to have to put more effort into.
