I just bought a outside bicycle this week. After riding an indoor bike for 2 years, the outdoor bike is WAY WAY harder.

I've been using Garmin watches since 2012. Way better and much more accurate than Fitbit.
-
Agreed. I have been taking it for a long time and get regular check ups and all is O.K. At 67 Y.O, I guess I won't worry about it. lol

There IS a lot of data debunking the myth of protein hurting your kidneys. As a bodybuilder, I aim for 195 grams of protein a day, so that is hard without the shakes. If you are not lifting, than it doesn't matter as much, but protein builds muscle.
-
I lift weights and use whey and casein protein to supplement my protein intake. Most protein powders have zero fat nowadays and hardly any cholesterol. I mix it with almond milk, but you can also use water. Taste has really improved over the years.

I've had numerous chest strap monitors along with the garmin 15,garmin 220 and fitbit Charge HR. BY FAR the most accurate HR I have found is the new Garmin 235----works flawlessly(so far)
-
I just got the 235 also, after switching over from the fitbit charge HR---can't sync from garmin to mfp
-
This is correct
-
Oh I forgot the other part of the question.I use the computer for this aspect of fitbit.Used in the correct way, the premium service is a powerful tool
-
I use the premium service and love it. I mainly use it as a reference for data. I download all the stats into excel every month so I can track and compare the data.It let's me keep and maintain my weight where I want it to be,whether I am on a cutting or bulking cycle.

Its not a marketing scheme--Pure whey isolates get absorbed very quickly into the bloodstream and BCAA's go DIRECTLY into the bloodstream, bypassing the stomach.
-
I sold my fr15--I was totally unhappy with it
-
^^THIS^^
-
I agree Kidominos
-
i'd start swimming(lol)
-
I agree with this statement--Its pretty accurate as compared to both my garmin forerunner 220 and my polar 60

Well me personally,I don't really care what I burn when I lift.I ve been lifting for over 30 years and I don,t lift to burn calories as I am in maintenence for a good long time. However it's my experience with lifting that I feel the charge does not "grossely" over calculate calories. I understand about steady state vs.…

This is true.. I lift 5 days a week and always put it into exercise mode and the calories it spits back to me are just as accurate as my Polar HRM and in line with what calculators online say they should be. I disagree with the people who say the ChargeHR grossly inflates calories burned while lifting because mine simply…
-
I use both together, and although I am in maintenance, I find the numbers they both give me are correct. I haven't gained a pound.
-
I replied to this post the first time you wrote it-- fitbit tracks calories for free-the premium membership just adds more data--For what you want,Fitbit doesn't charge a dime
-
[ I am seriously considering just using fitbit.com but I have so many personalized foods, meals etc on MFP, that is a lot of work. [/quote] ^^This
-
I am thinking you have a GIGANTIC stride length (LOL) Seriously though, that is not right or close to being right. Check your height and weight settings on the device, but that is crazy numbers, more than double what it should be.
-
Fitbit will track your calories for free. The premium membership does have a lot of extras, but most people use the "free" app and it gives you all the info MFP does.
-
Rest Day=No lifting
-
I understand. I mostly use the stats from fitbit to regulate my routine. I am in maintenance though,so I am more into the activity phase now which fitbit is great for.
-
When this happens I just log my food directly into fitbit. What's the difference. Fitbit still has all the information
-
Yes-I would change it. The zones are set-up for fat burn for zone 1,which is about 60 to 70 % of max hr, cardio for zone 2 is about 70% to 85% and going over 85% of max hr is zone 3. You don't have to go to zone 3 if your maxHR is 137. Just concentrate staying in zone 1 or 2 for exercising. I hope I explained it good…

I think that is the way to go---enjoy

I feel the same way. I have had 2 Garmin products (a forerunner 220 and a Forerunner 15 and I sold them both. I did not like the accuracy of either one for distance and calories burned, plus garmin connect website leaves alot to be desired. I now have the charge HR, which I trust the numbers on unless you are doing an…
