  • Fitness Blender...various ranges in difficulty and accessible for people with no equipment. Their website is easy to navigate and use. The individual videos are free, but you have to pay for some of the multi-week programs, but even that fee is relatively cheap compared to other programs on the market.
  • Started having issues this weekend as well. Steps not syncing, and I too have tried all forms of troubleshooting.....both through the app and through the website.
  • I think you're mistaken. It's not entitled, it's judgmental.....and yes, judgmental is what I was being.
  • This, and I find it a bit pretentious to refer to your gym as a "box". I get the douche chills just hearing it, the same kind of chills I get when someone tells me they're Zumba Certified.
  • My rant above aside, the only BB program worth anything falls under the P90X umbrella. Every other video program is pretty much overrated and/or not worth the money they are charging for it. Shakeology is overpriced tripe, and the "business opportunity"...ahem...scam is a complete ripoff.
  • This "just in it for the discounts" must be the new line pushed by BeachBody corporate, because this is not the first BB Coach who I have seen using this line, which seems like the pinnacle of BS. How much stuff are you buying from Beachbody to where you want to pay a monthly fee of somewhere between $80-100 to get that…
  • P90X is still the gold standard for me, albeit a modified version. For instance, I don't do the Plyo X or Yoga X programs. I'll jog on the treadmill for both dates. I also just do my own warm up and cool down, and will just skip to the actual "work" part of each workout.

  • Oh yeah, I had great success.......in wearing down my knees and ankles leading to two surgeries to re, and creating stress and pain in my lower back. At one point in time, I swore by Shaun T's workouts, but now realize that all of his DVDs are overrated. I could probably get as good of a cardio workout, and have an equal…
  • Friend request sent.
  • I have knee issues, but I don't have any back issues. This program caused pain and soreness in both. I've made a couple attempts at all of Shaun T's videos, but they're all repetitive to the point of being boring. Insanity may have multiple DVD workouts with different names, but they're all pretty much the same.....I guess…
  • Yep, Fitness Blender...both my wife and I enjoy their workouts.
  • Wow buddy...I get the disdain for BB Coaches and I even share it, but the people you were calling out were just giving helpful advice without even a hint of a sales pitch.
  • As far as strength training from BB, I tend to lean towards most anything made by Tony Horton. His programs are more aimed at strength training for many different levels of fitness, and he's not as annoying (to me, at least).
  • If you're going with strength training, and these are the only two options you are considering, I would go for Chalean.......but it's not a huge victory in its favor. T25 is indeed too much leaned towards HIIT. Sure, there is some strength training involved, but it feels more like an afterthought in favor of the HIIT.…
  • I've done it before, and I love it. Probably one of the best workouts I've done.
  • I love them, and my wife swears by them. What I love is that they are just a normal married couple, as opposed to the perfectly done-up people without a hair out of place that you see in most fitness videos. Most of their videos are free, and they do have some pay programs. We purchased one of their 8-week courses for…
  • At it's root, it started out as a fitness company, marketing workout videos. Over time, they got a little greedy and expanded into the MLM realm, peddling overpriced tripe (Shakeology) and a "business opportunity" ("coaching"). Most of the videos are pretty good, albeit somewhat overpriced when you realize you can find…
  • I love poking my head into a thread that asks about "toning" to just watch people's heads explode.
  • Per the American College of Sports Medicine, increasing one's heart rate is actually part of the textbook definition of cardio.
  • In my opinion, Turbo Jam would be the easier of the two as a whole. Speaking to your question about doing the "easier" one, Focus T25 has 3 phases; Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. Gamma is the hardest one by far, but Alpha and then Beta build you up into Gamma, and each workout has a modifier. I would suggest T25 overall. I was…
  • I never understood why there's a Sophie's Choice when it comes to strength and cardio. Why can't you do both? I try to exercise in some way, shape, or form 6 days a week. In any given week, I'll do strength 4 days with cardio 2 days, and a rest day.
  • Skip Insanity altogether, and do either Focus T25 or Insanity MAX: 30
  • My bad knee doesn't like Insanity.
  • I was thinking 2.976, but to each their own.
  • I've got to agree with the others on this one. The article seems to be encouraging people to do more functional exercises over isolation moves, but nothing about muscle confusion....which is a misnomer to begin with. I'm sure your workout is great, and if you love it and wish to share it with others, then great for you and…
  • My rule of thumb is to gauge how you feel at the end of 30 minutes. If you feel like you've pushed yourself well, then stop. If you feel like you want/need more, then go for a little longer. For sustainability purposes, there's no point in pushing to the point that you burn out, but you also want to challenge yourself and…
  • Why not do both? It's not a Sophie's Choice after all. I workout 6 days a week, 3 strength days and 3 cardio days, alternating the two throughout the week. I know I see some people who talk about "I'm going to do cardio until I lose X pounds, then I'm going to add some muscle", which appears to be complete backwards…
  • P90X is the pinnacle for me, with everything else put out by Tony Horton (P90-the new one, P90X3, 22 Minute Hard Corps) being a close 2nd (except for P90X2, which I just did not like.....he tried pushing too much additional optional equipment in X2, and beginning warmup/stretch was too long and boring). Coming in a tie for…
  • No release date has been set for Delta and Epsilon.
