I'm managing with just dumb bells and a swiss ball. Obviously modifications are necessary but I feel like I'm getting a great workout. I'll get a weight bar when I'm strong enough to cart the dang thing out of the store without assistance. :)

me too please? <email removed by allabtlm> Thanks!

^^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If I'd know there would be an award for "worst dismount", I'd have videotaped my first attempt. :) I still have trouble with the "dismount" sometimes. Like everyone says, they DO get easier. And, I've grown fond of them now too.

For me the answer is an unequivicol (sp?) YES. Are there still things about me I want to change, certaintly. Being older (I'm 43) helps. But I really just decided one day that low self esteem was not getting me anywhere so why not try to change my attitude. It took a while (a few years) of acting confident on the outside…

I would at least read it. It does have good information. For an absolute beginner though, I would start the moves using just your body weight until you know you have the form OR take the book with you to a personal trainer so they can make sure you're doing them right.

I can't do full pushups either. I started with wall pushups and moved to counter push ups. :)

I had to giggle at this. I'm doing stage 1 at home. I'm a wuss when it comes to lifting. I don't have a bar bell (45 lbs???? Really). For the true beginners out there, let me make you feel better. I do my squats with 1 lb hand weights. I should also mention I have bad knees and 2 herniated disks in my back so I have to be…

Also single. :)

Worth it, worth it, worth it! And I've been through some nastiness. :)

Thanks! I was wearing sneakers. Pretty much always am. :)

In my extensive experience (no weird friends requests please - LOL) men love curves. I've had men tell me that they were glad I was working out now, but they'd be sad to see my hips get smaller. I have 48 inch hips! Embrace your curves, love yourself for who you are. Guys will see the confidence as sexy.

LOL. I thought I would too! Thanks for all of the support. :)

Shirtless appeal is a 10! :) Crap ... keep forgetting to hit "quote". My mind must be somewhere else .......

I second the great job comment. Just what I needed on a Friday afternoon. <<<High Five!>>>>

These topics are funny to a certain degree and sad to a certain degree. Unfortunately, this happens to me all the time. However, I can say it has never happened to me here.
