I started 5:2 this week. I cut my calories to 500 on fast days, 2 days out of the week. The other days, I eat normal. I still make healthy choices. Can't really speak of neg or pro just yet because this IS my first week. But, I can share that I love/hate my fast days. I hate the part that I can't eat as much. But, I like…

just got tired of hearing myself complain about gaining weight. AND, the evening I got a good feel of my back fat.

I decided to quit when I decided I wanted to train to run a marathon. I felt it was necessary. Also, my employer was taking $40 per month out of my paycheck because I was a smoker. That played a VERY small part in my decision. I just REALLY wanted to run a marathon. I didn't consider myself a heavy smoker, I smoked when I…

You know, I don't LOVE the treadmill either. But, yesterday, it was my ONLY option & I didn't feel like thinking of what else I could possibly do. I put in my headphones, 2-10 minutes pretty much sucked *kitten*, 11-17 min, I was feeling strong, 17-22 min, I did intervals, felt pretty damn fierce, soon after it was over,…

it's called yoga "practice" for a reason. practicing yoga you will gain flexibility & all the other great benefits. there will be poses that you can't do and others that will come natural to you. that's all ok. Practice, you’ll improve. If you don’t, you won’t.

Speaking of... just received notice that 10 pizzas are about to be delivered to our office. I have worked here too long, I guess. People don't make comments so much anymore about my eating habits. They will comment now & again how healthy I eat but they have also seen me scarf down a big ol' plate of enchiladas for lunch.…

Walking?? Walking is boring. Walking is for boring people. jk I agree with one of the above.. do the exercise you will do regularly. Mix it up. Have fun. The other day, I joined a body combat class. I mostly felt silly doing it but I had fun & got my 30 min of cardio in for the day. And, I don't really worry about how many…

I don't run to lose weight. I only use an app to track my pace, mileage & routes. So, I use RunKeeper. I think it provides calories burned? But, I don't trust it.

I KNEW I was unfit. I HATED it. But not enough to do something about it for a couple of years. My excuse, I live in the second-fattest major U.S. city. So, I figured I was better off than most. I am 44, this is as good as it gets.
