Squats are still plateauing - 300x5 for my 3+ day of 5/3/1 Bench on the other hand is feeling great! 5+ day for bench with a rep goal of 9...grinded out a 10th rep! Excellent beginners program. I ran it for about a year and a half. I had never lifted before, but had played soccer for like 20 years, so my lower body progressed more than upper. I got up to 335x5 DL, 315x5 squat, 215x5 bench, 200x5 row, 130x5 OHP.

My 1+ day on 5/3/1 for both squat and bench today. Plus since I get MLK day off, I spent a little extra time...did some singles after squat and some 10 rep paused bench with 135#. Haha... those weren't actually gloves either. He had wrist wraps on and then was hold "fat grips" that he was using while curling the bar. Being dialed in and tight might have something to do with the belt too. I was doing the 20 rep program without it.

Here's my 5/3/1 for today. I'm doing it modified so I do the full 5/3/1 cycle for squats every week and then my other lifts are on the regular 3 weeks schedule. I'm only doing it 3 days a week, so hopefully I won't mess up any joints. I did a 10,000 push-up challenge about a year and a half ago and that was a brutal month...basically 500 push-ups 2 days, 1 rest day, repeat.

Especially if you're wanting to move to muscle ups. When I've done weighted pull-ups in the past I've noticed a big difference with going more chest to bar opposed to chin. That's more of an explosive movement in my opinion though and hard to do if I'm going slow and strict.

The first 5 I'll give you that it wasn't the full ROM, but I felt they got better as they went on. I didn't think I was kipping that bad though? The last rep I did, but the others my legs bend, but they aren't really propelling me up?
