  • I actually LOVE to exercise (love to hate sometimes?) and wish that was all it took. Once I get into a routine, I go all out. Love walking/running and the elliptical. Even strength training. It really bums me out that losing weight is more like 80/20 eating/exercise. I feel like it can be a waste of my time to try so hard…
  • Ugh. I suck. A weekend away for hockey meant lots of fast food. So today I thought I'd get started and I did well this morning. But because I didn't eat as much as usual earlier, I was starving by dinner so I overate. :( But back at it tomorrow. I think the routine of work will help. And I'm definitely going to have to…
  • Hockey today! All 3 boys are taking a hockey course this week (1.5 hours per day). My first step is drinking water today. Don't think I'll start logging my calories just yet - I get frustrated when I don't know how to enter something (like the homemade pea soup I'm making using the leftover ham bone from yesterday). So…
  • Name: Tracy IDOB Name: Tracy :) Weight Loss goal 28lbs Method of Weight Loss Diet and exercise....I love running (well, walk/running) and the elliptical. I really should add strength training, but it's been so hard since I started working full-time in Sept. I'm hoping to be able to commit to working out more regularly now…
  • Omg Amber! We are twins!!!! I've really fallen off the bandwagon but when I was checking in with MFP regularly, you were my inspiration!!Let's do this together again! (And I'm so sorry for your losses <3 )
  • Clothes! It's either buy bigger pants or lose weight. And now that I'm teaching full-time I need a pretty extensive wardrobe - can't wear yoga pants all week like I did when I was a SAHM. Pics. It's goes right to my face/neck when I gain weight. Gross! March Break - we always go to a hockey tournament where I run into…
  • It was pretty intense. I was underbrushing and dragging a lot of branches up and down a hill, so I knew I was getting a good workout. I put the HR monitor on after our lunch break just to check. Ordinarily I don't log things like washing the floor, windows etc. but this really did feel like a work out.
  • I found that even when I was working a glass of wine into my calorie allowance, I was not losing. Once I gave it up altogether, the weight started coming off.
  • I'm always topping my glass up so I really have no idea how many actual glasses I drink...............so I just don't bother logging it.
  • MFP! My elliptical and all 7 seasons of CSI! My husband - all I have to do is say I want to work out and he takes the 4 kids and disappears so that I can do it in peace.
  • Did you calculate the nutritional info?
  • I'm 5'4" and my short term goal weight is 140 (pre first pregnancy) but my long term goal weight is 130 (what I during most of my 20s). My dream goal would be 120 (have never been there)!
  • I've been looking for Brommel and Brown spread - I'm assuming it's only in the US b/c I haven't found any around here.
  • I've logged my losses too b/c I'm so excited to see the number dropping, but then I have to adjust it the next day b/c my weight often fluctuates by a couple pounds day to day. Which wouldn't be so bad, except it shows up in my news feed and then my friends congratulate me on my loss and I feel stupid knowing that I'll…
  • That's what I was afraid of. :(
  • Now THIS makes sense to me!!! Thanks!
  • I just realized that my HRM was still set at my starting weight in January which is 10 lbs heavier than I am now. What can I expect now that I've lowered it?
  • Ooooh! Those are cute!!!!

  • Totally joking!!! I work out at home so there is no one to impress! lol That said, I read in a magazine recently that wearing cute work out clothes may help motivate some people to keep at it. I'll check out the sites suggested!

  • The recent wine post convinced me to give it up for a while to see if I would see the weight come off quicker. (I only need to lose about another 11 pounds and I'd rather do it sooner than later, and then worry about maintenance afterwards.) I do miss it though!
  • I see this topic a lot and the one question I still have after every answer is............. Why even bother working out then? (Ok, I get that it is good for you to work out!) I mean, in terms of losing weight...........I struggle to find the time to workout.........perhaps I don't need to if they are just going to cancel…
  • Oh my. Very confusing. You're right. I'm drinking more water b/c I think I'm supposed to........that it will help with my weight loss. It's not that I'm actually thirsty (except after working out b/c then I'm really thirsty!) Pee is very light yellow, so I suppose it's definitely enough. Now I'm worried I'm drinking too…
  • Mine is public and to be honest, I would love for the Food Police to call me out!!! (Or congratulate me!) I have one friend here and we check each other's food diaries everyday...........the good, the bad, and the ugly! lol
  • I don't really keep track but I'm probably drinking about 8 glasses (not an excessive amount but certainly more than I used to). I'm pretty sure I have a tiny bladder to begin with too. It was horrible when I was pregnant! I try to limit it before bed, but if I workout then I have to have at least one glass and then I end…
  • Even at low resistance I couldn't do more than 2 minutes either when I first tried it. It KILLED my thighs! I gradually added 1 minute per day and now I'm up to 30 minutes, twice a day. It really does get better!
  • google converting grams to ounces - lots of conversion sites
  • Interesting site - it's allowing me quite a few more calories per day than MFP. Good to know for those days I feel guilty about going over here!
  • I've only been at this for almost 3 weeks now and I haven't taken a break day yet. (I started with the Shred which is a 30 day program). I dread the idea of not working out b/c then I'll have to make do with eating less calories. :(
  • p.s. Yes, Pepperidge Goldfish :p
  • So what is it about alcohol that makes it harder to lose weight? The sugar content? Does that mean that the same principal holds true if I were to eat a bag of Skittles? Would my body work to burn off the sugar in the Skittles first before attacking my existing fat?
