It was pretty intense. I was underbrushing and dragging a lot of branches up and down a hill, so I knew I was getting a good workout. I put the HR monitor on after our lunch break just to check. Ordinarily I don't log things like washing the floor, windows etc. but this really did feel like a work out.

I found that even when I was working a glass of wine into my calorie allowance, I was not losing. Once I gave it up altogether, the weight started coming off.

I'm always topping my glass up so I really have no idea how many actual glasses I drink...............so I just don't bother logging it.

MFP! My elliptical and all 7 seasons of CSI! My husband - all I have to do is say I want to work out and he takes the 4 kids and disappears so that I can do it in peace.

I'm 5'4" and my short term goal weight is 140 (pre first pregnancy) but my long term goal weight is 130 (what I during most of my 20s). My dream goal would be 120 (have never been there)!

I just realized that my HRM was still set at my starting weight in January which is 10 lbs heavier than I am now. What can I expect now that I've lowered it?

Totally joking!!! I work out at home so there is no one to impress! lol That said, I read in a magazine recently that wearing cute work out clothes may help motivate some people to keep at it. I'll check out the sites suggested!

The recent wine post convinced me to give it up for a while to see if I would see the weight come off quicker. (I only need to lose about another 11 pounds and I'd rather do it sooner than later, and then worry about maintenance afterwards.) I do miss it though!

I see this topic a lot and the one question I still have after every answer is............. Why even bother working out then? (Ok, I get that it is good for you to work out!) Oh my. Very confusing. You're right. I'm drinking more water b/c I think I'm supposed to........that it will help with my weight loss. It's not that I'm actually thirsty (except after working out b/c then I'm really thirsty!) Pee is very light yellow, so I suppose it's definitely enough. Now I'm worried I'm drinking too…

I don't really keep track but I'm probably drinking about 8 glasses (not an excessive amount but certainly more than I used to). I'm pretty sure I have a tiny bladder to begin with too. Even at low resistance I couldn't do more than 2 minutes either when I first tried it. It KILLED my thighs! I gradually added 1 minute per day and now I'm up to 30 minutes, twice a day. It really does get better!

I've only been at this for almost 3 weeks now and I haven't taken a break day yet. (I started with the Shred which is a 30 day program). I dread the idea of not working out b/c then I'll have to make do with eating less calories. :(

So what is it about alcohol that makes it harder to lose weight? The sugar content? Does that mean that the same principal holds true if I were to eat a bag of Skittles? Would my body work to burn off the sugar in the Skittles first before attacking my existing fat?
