Without having read anything other than the headline, this would seem to be the perfect of example of correlation =/= causation

Yep this.

I ordered a few samples base on his recommendation. My favorite so far was the shamrock shake flavor. Cinnamon bun and Chocolate Peanut Butter were OK. I still have a few more to try

How tall are you? 138 lbs (9 st 12) isn't going to be terribly overweight unless you're very, very short. Not only does having little weight to lose mean you have to be uber-accurate with your measuring, but I'd also question whether or not you really have a stone of weight to lose, or perhaps if some body recomposition…

Possible? Probably...you'd have to average about a 1600 calorie per day surplus. Advisable? Unless your goal is to put on copious amounts of fat, probably not.
-
Best bet is probably whole milk - mix or blend it with other ingredients (peanut butter & oats for example) to up the calories.

I'm suddenly very nervous...

I'm going to say the bolded is your problem. If you're really losing control on those 'free' days it's quite possible (I'd go so far as to say it's certain based on your results) that you're wiping out your entire week's worth of calorie deficit on those days. You don't need to "trick" your metabolism...that's just silly.…

Huh? There is no significant nutritional difference between long grain white rice and Basmati or brown rice, other than a couple extra grams of fiber in the brown varieties. To OP: I typically don't eat rice plain. If I make it as a side dish, it's along with something that can be mixed with it/on top of it (stir fry,…

I wouldn't ever draw specific conclusions after only 2 days - you'll need a longer term trend to really draw meaningful conclusions. That said, how did you come to the conclusion that 4k calories was the right number for you? I'm roughly the same age, and size (I've got about 8 lbs on you) and I can bulk on 3,000 calories.…

Cheers brother! Isn't that the best feeling ever?!

CICO/Flex eating/moderation/whatever you want to call it Lots 'o pics - even before & after pics I do have a closed diary. I'd be happy to open it, but I'm afraid you'd be incredibly bored, as I haven't logged anything for a couple years now. Cause, yanno, I learned how to eat a modest, sensible, well-balanced diet along…

That's pretty much my opinion too. Same with Popeye's chicken here. I mean, it'll do in a pinch, but I'm not going out of my way to make a special trip to either place.

And I just now realized I'm reading and responding to day old posts...dont' mind me I'll just be here talking to myself...

And a +1 for that too...

And now I have that song stuck in my head thank you very much...

Eat more at each sitting Set an alarm to go off every couple hours reminding you to eat

Eat more food

Yep

That was my reaction too. I mean we are all well aware it's much higher than it should be, but it seems that nationwide - the trend has slightly started to reverse over the last couple years. There's still pockets of the country (the south, primarily) where that's not the case.

Low Fat Oreos sound about as useful as deep-fried kale.
-
They helped you decrease the size of your bank account by about $100. They won't do a dang thing to help you decrease the size of anything else. My guess - if you read the fine print, they say something to the effect of they'll help you lose weight "when combined with diet and exercise." What they don't tell you is that…

I got samples of that, chocolate, vanilla, shamrock shake, banana, and choc peanut butter

Thanks :) - I just ordered a few samples from their website...I'll give 'em a whirl.

Oy I forgot so many! Of the ones I've tried, I'd rank them: Tier 1: Regular & Double Stuff Tier 2: Mint, Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Bun Tier 3: Red Velvet, Filled Cupcake, Triple Double Tier 4: Brownie Batter, Golden Utter Abominations: Birthday Cake, Chocolate Cream, White Fudge And it should be duly noted that in the grand…

I've seen you pimp that a few times and you've piqued my interest finally!- do any stores carry it or do you order it online?

I'd agree - middle of the road as far as Oreos go (I couldn't wait and had to have one!) Better than the chocolate cream, birthday cake, brownie batter, and golden About equal to red velvet, cinnamon bun (though probably slightly behind all of these) Below Regular, Double Stuff, Mint
