  • I am 5' 4", and even at 114 pounds I had a belly. I actually don't think I can get rid of it without going to severely underweight. Weight training did help a little, at least gave me a butt to balance it out. It's the first place fat settles and the last place it leaves for me.
  • FitBit had me burning calories just sitting on the couch.
  • It might be.....I'll have to look into it. I don't have a gym membership right now, but I may have to get one!
  • I was bullied in middle school unmercifully, by multiple people (guys and girls) ironically because I was very underweight. Every day was torture. This was over 30 years ago for me and I would have a hard time not punching one of these people if I ran into them now. No one has a right to do that to someone. Saw one of them…
  • I will never understand why people think it's their right to comment on other people's weight anyway....
  • Back when I used to weigh myself at night and in the morning, the night weight was always 3-4 pounds higher. Now I don't bother weighing any time except right away in the morning, just to keep it more accurate and consistent.
  • I'll just tell them I don't want any or I don't like that particular thing. It is funny how some co-workers will push to try to get me to eat things. I had one co worker who actually said "I feel like spritzing you with a spray bottle when you say you don't like something!" My other co-workers and I just kind of went…
  • Macaroni and cheese was about all I wanted for the first 3 months. Sometimes crackers and popsicles.
  • I have wine several times a week and it's not a problem, I just make sure it fits in my calories. Wine is also lower in calories than some alcohol choices (like margaritas and other fruity sugary drinks that I love), so it could be worse, I guess.
  • Lifting is good. I've been so much happier with the way I look and feel since I started.
  • I read a book that was really good about it, "The Meditation Transformation" by Jennifer Brooks. I thought it was a very good book for the basics of how and why to meditate. Not religious at all either.
  • Donald Trump cares only about what will bring him the most glory and adoring fans, not what is actually best for the country. This is the first time I have actually been terrified of what is going to happen. He is likely to start a war with his big stupid mouth, and my kids are all of just the right age to be drafted. I…
  • Very excited to find this group. I'm a closet atheist at the moment because around here people just assume you're a bad person if you're not a Christian. Haven't even told my close friends because I'm afraid of judgement. It's refreshing to see that there are others out there who believe the same as me, sometimes I forget…
  • Atheist here, good to see so many others! Where I live I feel very alone and really haven't even admitted to being an atheist because they're so looked down on here.
  • I work out in the evenings, about an hour after I eat. I've always been a night person so it works for me. Can't do mornings. I think if I did cardio I'd have to do it before I eat, but I lift weights and that seems to be fine after a meal.
  • I eat these sometimes. I absolutely HATE cooking, so if my husband isn't cooking (he loves to cook!) I sometimes have one, or have them on my lunch. Some seem to be more filling than others. I like the Healthy Choice steamer bowls...they are more filling than some of the Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones. I do try to watch salt more…
  • I recently took 3 months off. I wasn't feeling well enough to work out for a long time, turned out I needed my gallbladder out. By the time I was recovered from that surgery I had a month of insanity as both my sons were moving out to go back to college, etc. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I got back into it.…
  • My mom likes to say things like that because it makes her feel better about her own inability to lose weight. She's convinced herself that it's "impossible" to lose weight when you're older and will constantly tell me that.
  • I love salads!! I prefer Italian dressing which isn't as high calorie as a lot of them. I also use it very sparingly, I don't like to use too much.
  • I had to buy all new ones. I guess my only advice would be to wait until you absolutely have to replace them (hopefully you only have to do it once!) and enjoy shopping.

  • 5'4", aiming for 120 (currently at 122).
  • Believe it or not, it is what my doctor said. As I said, it was right after the vaccine first became available. By "not being tested enough" I think she just meant on large groups of people. She didn't feel that the benefits outweighed the risks at that time. I'm not an anti-vaxxer, my kids have had all other vaccines, but…
  • I can't sleep on an empty stomach, so if I'm hungry, I eat. Even if it's 10 pm.
  • My doctor actually recommended against getting it for my daughter. It was when it first came out and she felt it hadn't been tested enough. She also mentioned that the benefits (only protects against 4 strains of the hundreds of strains of HPV) may not outweigh the risks with a new untested vaccine. Now that it's been in…
  • Which one of you is the cook? In my house, my husband is the cook. He loves to cook for people and since I'm the only one in the family concerned about calories (our teenagers are stick-thin), he will make whatever and not think much about calories. If he makes something that will put me over my calorie goal, or will not…
  • "You are your own gym" is a good one for beginners. I started with that....there is a book and an app to guide you through the program. You actually don't need the book but it explains the exercises a little better than the app alone.
  • I used to have people telling me I looked like a skeleton all the time. I've weeded them out of my life as much as possible. It's not okay.
  • Sometimes I don't even need to binge if I eat certain types of food. Like, if I eat a donut, even if I don't go over my calories for the day, I will always weigh at least 2 pounds more the next day. Don't know what it is about donuts. I know it's not real gain and it always goes away in a few days, but it does tend to keep…
