  • Hello there! I am 5'4" tall and as of right now even though I have lost 39 pounds, I weigh 281 pounds. I know how you feel . It creeps on without you noticing it. But, look at what you have done! You are making a difference and baby steps lead to huge giant steps. You can do this. And, like everyone else says...you are…
  • I drink Ensure in the mornings. I love them in Dark Chocolate, but my husband doesn't. I use them as a meal replacement because they have such good protein in them and good carbs that are slow and steady to not spike blood sugar.
  • I can bench press 75 pounds AND I made up a day at the gym that I missed earlier in the week!
  • Wow! I am 5'4" (on a good day) and 180 is exactly my goal weight. I started out at 325 this time around (I have been bigger and my highest was about 370). I hope I look as good as you when I get to 180. At the age of 38....yeah...180 is where I want to be if it looks like you do now! Keep going and great work! P.S. I have…
  • Can do 30 minutes straight on the Cybex Arc Trainer and can stick both hands and arms in my pants while I am in them...lmao, but it is true!
  • I am soon to be 38. First gray hair around the age of 17-18. My mother was totally gray at 18. If I didn't continue to dye it...I would be totally gray. I'm just not ready to be yet. So at the ripe age of 30...i was a totally silver bird.
  • I'm 5' 3 1/2" and my goal weight is 180. I am at 286 right now. Started at 320. I will never be within "normal",but I will be really happy with myself at that weight.
  • I have terrible knees due to a head on collision with a drunk driver when I was 18. I use the elliptical and now the Cybex Arc Trainer. Wonderful to use!
  • Just keep plugging along. Don't stop...ever! Weigh all your food. Watch portions. Don't cheat yourself on your logs. When your mind catches it...your body will follow. Or exercise half asleep that way, your body and your mind won't know what's doing until it is already done and you can say, "Hah" I fooled you!
  • I have not read the entire thread, but my opinion would be to find another husband. I have never been of the thinking that anyone should be in love with someone based entirely on physical beauty. Beauty comes from within and not by the dress size.
  • Probably late on the issue, but did the manicurist know how old your daughter was? From my perspective a lot of 14 year olds these days look like 21 or older. Otherwise, I think this: Medical marijuana use is a hot topic for debate. Should it be used...my thoughts are yes! It is all natural with little to no side effects.…
  • I have PCOS, but I have never used this drug. My mom had diabetes and she was on this. It caused her intestinal distress the entire time she was on it which was 15+ years. I haven't had a problem losing weight, but everyone is totally different. I do hope it works for you. I use herbal medications such as cinnamon, etc.
  • Of course you can! My last 5K, I weighed 306 pounds. Did it in just under an hour. Go Girl!
  • Yikes! I knew I misread something. sorry :blushing:
  • I did read your post and I am concerned...you said you went from 97 pounds to 87 pounds??? and you have loads to lose. I apologize if I have misread this, but I am just concerned...
  • I will never have a flat stomach unless I have skin surgery. Nor will I ever have beautiful arms unless surgery as well which is not something that I can see happening due to expense. My NSV would not even be to shop for clothes because I don't like shopping. Just once i would like to win my age category in a 5 or 10 K...I…
  • Blueberries...I absolutely adore them and for the pete's sake...$4 bucks for 6 oz. UGH!
  • When I was younger, I hated a lot of vegetables. However, as I have grown, I have found I love a lot of vegetables. There are a few I don't like. However, pet peeve: Potatoes and corn are not vegetables they are tubers and grains. Beans are not vegetables, they are legumes. Not that it matters at all to anyone else, but my…
  • At 5'4" you should be between 110-140 pounds. The lowest on that scale is 110. At this point, with the fact that you have stopped getting your menses, that you need to back track just a tad. Gain a little back to 115 and do body recomp with weight lifting. There are women on here who weigh more than when they started, but…
  • Intelligence, black rimmed glasses, green eyes, and tattoos! I also love hands. Buttoned down shirts. Piercings.... The guy who looks like a bad boy, but is a huge teddy bear.
  • This! My husband and I joined here because I am trying to win the fight against NOT getting diabetes which my whole family has and he is trying to get fit so he doesn't have a heart attack at 40! He loves me not just for my looks, but my goofiness, my talent, the way I love him...He is an amazing man and if I gained up to…
  • Absolutely ADORE salt and vinegar chips! I have found POPPED chips that are S&V and they are so much lower in fat, but damn that sodium! OMG...still some days it is soooo worth it!
  • Try cutting your carbs and keep a watch on your sodium. I am no expert by any means, but carbs are quick, fast energy true, but they tend to "stick" around if you get my drift and sodium will make you retain water. Try that and see if it works. It might be just that easy or that hard considering how much you really like…
  • Just for my 2 cents worth. Butter has maybe 3 ingredients...vs. a host to make the margarine. I would rather use butter because I know what those things are in there and how my body will respond to it. It is worth the few extra cents to get it and use it sparingly. Mostly however, I cook with olive oil and butter is a rare…
  • Not that I am an expert, but you could possibly have a food allergy that is causing the bloating. Otherwise, there is no such thing as targeting specific areas for fat burn. You can start lifting weights and doing abdominal exercises to tone those muscles.
  • That is incredible and so inspirational! You have done a good job and I can only imagine how much better you feel.
  • The benefits of exercise are beyond the fact that you will get fit. The stress relief of exercise is incredible. Even 30 to 40 minutes a day is an amazing benefit to you. Stress on the other hand not only stresses your heart, but all of your organs, messes with sleep, interrupts brain function, and keeps you holding weight…
  • My husband and I both joined PF about a month ago and I see women and men in there ALL THE TIME in running shorts and tanks with no problems whatsoever. I guess it is all where they are located. The people are nice and it is pretty easy to ignore the tootsie rolls and bagel bar in the early morning hours. There are…
  • Congratulations to you girl! YOU ROCK! Don't let anything stop you. You got this from now on.
  • *whistles* I have over 100 pounds to lose. My first goal is 100 pound loss however, and then maybe 20-40 more. I'm so not going to push it if all I ever lose is 100 pounds. I will be ecstatic. Right now I have lost almost 15 pounds (whoo hooo) and that makes me 305. I will be doing a dance when I get below 300 and another…
