  • I'm due January 24th, I'm 14 weeks today. Just started getting my motivation back, so I've been working out a bit and tracking my cals. I've gained 3 lbs. Began pregnant at normal weight, but was very inactive when I was pregnant with my son and didn't always make the best food choices. Thinking if I continue with MFP…
  • Thanks for the responses! Makes me feel better about my lack of wanting to do much of anything :)
  • I borrowed it last April from my co-worker and loved it! She had an extra copy of Gamma, so I still do that in combination with other work outs. It's great.
  • Congrats on the new baby! I know everyone is different, but this is what worked for me. First, I waited until my son was like 10 months before I started w/ any real exercise. I was afraid of my milk supply dropping (maybe that was an excuse), but anyways, I waited a while, but watched what I ate during that time. After I…
  • I did an extra week of alpha because I was borrowing beta and didn't have it yet, so maybe that helped, but beta really isn't that bad. I was intimidated by alpha, but once I did every work out once I felt better, so it was kind of the same deal with beta. You can do it! I actually liked beta more than alpha because there…
  • I've used circuit training, general since April and that's been working for me.
  • I got a Fibit Flex in April and love it. I'm waiting for the Charge HR also as I'm in the market for a HRM. I like seeing how many steps I take in a day and feel it gives me a good idea of how active I'm being. I sync it to MFP and have never had any issues. The app for my iphone is great, too.
  • I stopped adding when I was only breastfeeding my son once in in the morning and once at night. The sessions were very short, so I figured I wasn't burning a lot of cals by that point. I also wasn't pumping anymore.
  • What did you think? I haven't done that yet. I'm not really following the schedule, I'm just pairing whatever workout I feel like doing w/ a T25 workout. I just did the buns one for the first time over the weekend and was super sore the next day.
  • Do not diet. Just some general guidelines I use w/ my clients: if your pre-pregnancy weight is considered overweight then you only need to gain 15-25 lbs during your pregnancy. If you're considered obese, you only need to gain 11-20 lbs. Some women gain less than that. Talk with your OB and he/she will give you a target…
  • I've been logging everything under yoga or pilates, which gives a pretty low calorie count. I figure I would rather underestimate than overestimate.
  • I combined the two since they are so short. I feel like the times listed in the booklet are not correct at all for some of the workouts.
  • I'd love to!
  • I started it a couple weeks ago, but life got in the way and I'm determined to start it again this weekend!
  • Have you tried resetting the charger? It seems like every once in a while I have to take the back of an earring or straighten out a paperclip and poke the little re-set hole/button thing on the charger and it works again.
  • I completely agree! I'm a social worker and although I know I can't help everyone (and often don't), when I do it is so rewarding.
  • I don't have Hashimoto's, but my mom does and she lost a lot of weight doing the Atkins Diet. That was several years ago and she's kept the weight off even after adding some carbs back into her diet. Good luck!
  • My 1-year-old son only nurses from my right breast. I used to offer the left and he would basically reject it, haha. I know it's because it does not produce as much milk. Now that he's drinking cow's milk and lots of solids, I'm not as worried about his bm consumption, so I just breastfeed him from 1 breast.
  • Someone on here said that they have different breastfeeding options under the food choices, so I just input "breastfeeding toddler" along w/ whatever I ate for breakfast every morning and it subtracts 200 cals. That has worked well for me. He isn't breastfeeding as much and I only pump once at work, so I feel like 200 cals…
  • Oh, lordddd, yes. And I can SEE the difference, which is not fun (lopsided).
  • Hi, Marisa! I find this board really supportive and like that there are other women experiencing the same issues I am w/ getting back into shape (exhaustion, lack of time, etc.). I hear you on the chocolate; my first big step was stopping myself from grabbing a handful of chocolate chips every night after beebs went to…
  • This may not be helpful, but my cals were adjusted based on how sedentary I am during the day, so my cals adjusted to 1,300 (desk job mostly). I'm nursing my 11 month old, but I work full time, so I nurse him briefly in the morning before I leave for work, pump once at work (3oz), I nurse him after work, and then maybe…
  • My son will be 1 in 2 weeks and I'm still up (typically) twice a night, so I totally hear you. Prior to having a baby, I used to go for runs and attend boot camp classes, both of which take an hour+. Ain't nobody got time for that. Between working full time and having him I seriously felt like there was no way I would ever…
  • I believe it. When my son was 4 mo I felt like he was eating aaaall the time, plus I was pumping every 3 hrs while I was at work. I give myself 200 cals now because he's almost 1 and doesn't bf as much.
  • That's great news! Our biting phase didn't last long, but it was long enough to make me consider stopping breastfeeding for a second. My son is going to be 1 in a couple weeks and I have no idea about weaning, introducing cow's milk, etc.
  • Hi! I just added you. My son is going to be 1 in 2 weeks and I'm still breastfeeding and pumping at work. I work full time, I went back to work after 12 wks.
  • We went through a biting phase a couple months ago. When he bit me I would look at him and say, "no, no" and I would set him down on the floor. Eventually he got the memo that if he bit mom then nursing time was over. I also had someone tell me that if you flick baby gently in the cheek after a bite that they will stop. I…
  • Congratulations! And OMG your stash is impressive. I love that you kept setting goals for yourself and breaking right through them. How is the introduction of cow's milk going? My son is going to be 1 next month and we're still breastfeeding as well. He was a preemie, so we reeeally struggled with bf'ing at first (I feel…
  • I'm still breastfeeding! My son will be 1 next month! I can't even believe it. It's gone by so fast.
