  • I forced myself to eat breakfast because all the 'research' that says it's good for me. I go to work about 8.30am but I'm not hungry until about 10.30am. Sometimes I would skip it because I forgot...why? Because I wasn't hungry! And...when I did have breakfast I was still hungry at 10.30! Then I read another book which…
  • I find it very difficult to eat breakfast. I have never been a breakfast person, preferring to eat mid morning. It isn't appropriate for me to take a bowl of cereals to work, so I have the yoghurt crunch, 2 biscuits about 238 cals. Not only do they fill me til lunchtime, but pyschologically I have had a coffee and biscuits…
  • I know where you are coming from Glen. My weight according to the charts should be 9st.7 - 10st.7...not a hope! I look stick thin at anything under 11st and people tell me I look ill. I am aiming at 11st 7 - 12st eventually, although anything around 12st 7 will be a major accomplishment. I have already started with the…

  • Buy yourself a WII, and get the Wii sport, fit and dance DVD's. They are fun and good exercise at the same time. MFP also have most of the wii exercises already logged in and you will be surprised how many calories you can burn off without leaving the house.
  • that sounds a great idea Glen
  • totally agree with all the ice cream lovers....., ice cream...any good one...with anything crunchy in it....thinking about it...any ice cream...with anything in it! It's the one thing I daren't buy anymore
  • It is difficult, especially if your father doesn't need to lose weight. My husband is reasonably healthy and only about half a stone overweight. He cooked chips last night and asked if I wanted any. I just told him I was ok thanks, he still made plenty and left some on the side....very tempting but I resisted. I have found…
  • To get into my favourite jacques vert trouser suit which has been sat in the wardrobe waiting for the slimmer me for at least 4 years...hopefully this is the year! To be able to sit on the airplane seats without my bum touching the sides :blushing:

  • If you go down too low your body goes into starvation mode. The last time I lost a lot of weight, I reached a plateau and didn't move for ages. A friend told me to increase my calorie intake for a couple of weeks then start again, not by too much, probably 1500-1750, then start again. It worked and the first week I lost…
  • I can cross my legs ok, but 'daytimedreamer' I will also be chuffed when my bum doesn't fill the width of the bath or the seat on the aeroplane!
  • Firstly, well done for what you have achieved so far! Please take heed from what the others have told you. I have yo yo dieted for years and got to my heaviest, 218lb this year. I have been between 218 and 208 for the past 12 month and everytime I have started it has felt such a daunting task that I have given up....when I…
  • Ice cream, any kind, flavour, type....it calls to me from the freezer until I've polished the lot off! I can ignore the chips, cheese, chocolate, biscuits, but put ice cream in the freezer and my will power is gone...just had to stop buying it!!
  • Def eye opening! I am looking at my tops in the wardrobe....but at the minute they are the small one! Eventually it will be the other way round and the tops I am wearing will be at the bottom of the pile! Ur pics are inspiring me to get there!
  • Seeing your post has motivated me to keep going for my goal! I wear long flowing dresses to hide my shape, but this has encouraged me and made me realise I can make it back into clothes that will make me feel good! well done, an inspiration to us all! Kay
  • Good for you! I'm a big believer in doing this for you, and not because it's expected of you! New start....you can do it!!
  • Hi Jennifer, I think the secret is to log everything and just to be honest with yourself. When I feel like cheating I remind myself that I'm only cheating me! I find it helps not just to watch the calories, but also the fat and carbs. But most important, I am inspired by seeing what other people are achieving, and viewing…
  • Hiya, I started using MFP on my phone also. I started in April, then didn't log in for a while, and actually put weight on, but I started again 3 weeks ago on here. I have lost 8lb, want to lose another 10lb before i go away at the end of September, then aiming for my 2nd goal for Christmas. I have found MFP really…
  • Depends whether it's sweet or savoury, having said that I tend to snack on Alpen light bars or caramel rice cakes when I want something sweet, or savoury rice cakes. The chilli flavoured are really quite tasty. If you like desserts, try a trifle sponge in the bottom of a glass with summer fruits in a sugar free jelly. I…
  • That's really interesting cos I force myself to drink water, something I never do but keep trying for these 8 glasses a day!
