I'm with you. I've tried some of the soy ones and some of the almond milk ones. Coconut milk has shown up recently. I'm very lactose intolerant but I've discovered I can have ONE nonfat Greek cow milk yogurt and be okay.

Me too. Started at 47 5ft 2 on a good day and 262. I'm at 194 now 16 months later. I figure I'll be 50 when I hit my goal of 130. It's definitely slow and steady

Cannot. Sigh

I can eat macadamia nuts they are too high in fat for my iffy gall bladder. I eat raw almonds in ounce portions.

I'm happy today that I just haven't said f@& to my diet. It's been 10 months, I'm eating Paleo due to dairy and wheat intolerance and I'm BORED with what I've been eating. It's probably time to buy some cookbooks or something but we both work so anything we come up with has to be like 30 minutes or less. Thoughts?

A serving of pb to me is like half a cup. I had to stop buying it. (Sob!)

ME me! I've lost about 58 lbs of 130 but I've seriously slowed down ...
-
For me, it's peanut butter. I love it, but the tiny amount I can reasonably fit in is not satisfying and leaves me frustrated

Setting aside the question of what is or isn't paleo, for the minute: I also was seriously attached to sugar. I also had what I thought was a lot of weird random food allergies or intolerances. 9 months ago, I eliminated bread, white potatoes and rice from my diet. I've since had to eliminate wheat altogether (I'm still…

I started at 262 and I'm very short so my original goal was around 1500. What I discovered FOR MYSELF is that white sugar/flour things were very easy to binge on. I couldn't have a small serving, that wasn't possible for me. Ultimately I decided to give up flour entirely (it does bad things to my stomach). I miss it still,…

I'm with you too. I started in June with 130 to lose. I'm down fifty so far, but the next 80 will be harder. We can do this together!
-
Welcome! Congrats on choosing to do this now! I'm turning 48 in 3 days and trust me, it gets harder as you get older. My best advise for you is realize you are going to have to make permanent changes, and it's going to take time. I agree logging is crucial.

I would love to lose some in the girls. I've lost 50 lbs and I'm falling out of a 40H. I pay a fortune for bras. Sigh
-
I also thought it tasted like frozen water. But I love so delicious!

I can tell you how this body hates wheat. I started paleo 7 months ago. I ve lost 50 lbs, but I've also lost my daily stomach aches. That would have been worth it alone. I don't miss grains or potatoes AT ALL. It's easy (at least it was for me) after the first week or so.
-
I started exactly where you are. It can certainly be done. I'm approaching 50 lbs lost. I've got another 85 to go. Find a plan that will work for you, forever. It's thinking that this is a short term change that will cause failure.

I'm very lactose intolerant. We found a tofu butter substitute that even my roommate finds acceptable to bake with. Sorry I'm away so can't report the brand
-
Ive lost 47 lbs so far. I find it pretty easy. There are tons of recipes on line. Feel free to add me if you want an idea of what I eat.
-
I'm there with you, but I started at 262. Still struggling to get to 40 lbs lost. Do you have someone who could be your food and or workout buddy? I find having someone who doesn't have my mood swings doing this with me very helpful.
-
We're Jewish so no ham, but thanks for the other ideas...

I'm a binge eater. I can't eat just a little of something i like. I solved the problem by bringing my own food, every single time. It's not very satisfying to my mother, but it's what I have to do right now.
-
Tofu?

I'm with you. I'm 47 and have another 100 lbs to lose. I'm doing about 80% paleo. It's working for me, and my stomach issues are much improved. Definitely not loving working out, but I'm paying someone to help me which makes it easier. Feel free to add me.

I've been on meds for 14 years. I'm losing, it just goes slowly. Keep positive. All the SSRIs have weight gain as a side effect.
-
I was diagnosed 20 years ago. It does slow everything down, but I've lost 33 lbs with 100 more to go. Be patient. It's going to be slow, but totally doable
-
I Don't know if this is possible for you, but what I've seen other people suggest is to try to eat different foods for a couple weeks. I'm with you in that I lose very slowly (I'll be thrilled if I've lost 65 lbs in a year). I'm eating mostly paleo and that is working well for me. I guess for some it's considered fairly…
-
I gained WAY more than 10 lbs. but bad things happen when I stop the meds. However I have been successful at losing weight, just a little slower. It's possible.

I'm amazed no one mentioned this... I would go to a Mexican restaurant where I liked the chips and salsa, and eat, and eat...I could do 3 big baskets of chips myself. Sometimes I wouldn't eat my dinner so I could have more chips. And then there is the "free" sourdough bread ... I could polish off a loaf, or two, while…

I'm with you on the cottage cheese and the avocado. I do like hummus and tofu.

I buy the so delicious coconut milk ice cream with no sugar. I LOVE it.
