When I first started lifting it would take me like 2 hours because I didn't know what to do, so I would Google exercises between sets. Spend some time researching two to three exercises for each major body group and then watch YouTube videos on form, start with light weights until you are confident to go a little heavier,…

Feel free to add me. I eat around 1700. I was eating like 2000 maintaining, but my husband signed us up for a military ball so I dropped it down. Lost 4 pounds in 4 weeks :) I don't log my fitness though since I have my calories set at -15% tdee

28 yrs old, 5'5. Started at 147lbs and 26% body fat, currently at 132lbs and about 20-21% body fat. Trying to get my body fat down to 16-18%. Dont really care about scale weight.
-
1,450 sounds really low for a dude. Are you planning on logging and eating back your calories burned?
-
5'5 and 135lbs. I eat between 1800-2000. My polar heart monitor says I burn about 3000 calories. I figure it an 12-15% margin of error so that puts my TDEE around 2500.
-
I only read the first page of comments so sorry if this has been asked/discussed already.... so my polar heart monitor says I burn about 3000 calories a day. Factoring in a 12% margin of error, that puts me at 2640. I usually eat between 1800-2000 calories a day. Let's add 200 calories to say margin of error for tracking…

If your skin has gotten looser it might mean that you've lost some of the fat that use to be underneath it. The scale isn't the best measurement of weight loss. I've been at the same weight for a couple of months but have visually improved my body composition. And maybe research reverse dieting and take a break. Eat at…

That was my first motivation. And using pictures to track progress, IMHO, is better than the scale. Ive been at the same weight for the last month and a half but know I have lost fat through pictures and how my clothes feel.
-
My goal is 100 grams a day, eggs cooked of all variety, seafood, trying out new recipes helps a lot, not just eating the same old thing day after day

Brittany Dawn Fitness is another big supporter of IIYMs and shes shredded! I have been using IIFYM for the last few months for weight loss, 13 pounds down in 4 months (slow and steady for me) but now that Im going more into maintenance Im going to start eating back the calories I burned.
-
I totally agree with RGv2! If you dont want to eat your calories back, then raise the lifestyle level from sedentary to maybe light active, and dont log your fitness.
-
You still need to be eating more.

There are always going to be generalizations that people fit into, like apple vs pear body shapes. But to eat a certain way or exercise a certain way, I believe, is totally dependant on the individual. I have an apple/endomorph body type, and the general rule is to do lots of cardio and lay off the carbs. But when I…

Awesome! Thanks guys. Ill go over all the food later in the day to fix those issues

45% carbs, 25% protein, and 30% fat. I just changed it. I was doing more protein and less carbs before and I felt too sluggish and deprived. I dont have much weight to lose so Im going at a slower pace.
-
Thanks for the links! Its not that I dont want carbs (I love carbs!), its just that when I first started getting to shape it seemed like almost everywhere I read or talked to said more protein, less carbs. So Im trying to get away from that mentality. And want confirmation that Im going in the right direction. My weight…

They sell plant based powdered protein on Amazon. Dont know if its any good or not but its an option to try

weekly. But the scale isnt always the best indication of fat loss. Ive been the same weight for like 3 weeks now but can tell that my stomach, arms, and legs are firmer. Im going to start just doing body measurements

I didn't gain that much weight after kids, but having gone from being athletic and/or very skinny my whole life it was a hard adjustment. I threw in the towel for quite some time. And your right, there is some advantages to having some extra fluff. Women don't size you up as much. Men don't stare. I like that. I find…

I have my calories set at the same no matter if I work out or not. So if your burning 250 calories a day in exercise, then take like a 300 calorie deduction from whatever your maintenance diet would be.
-
I eat 250 calories less than my maintenance and have my workouts get the rest of the slack. I've lost 10 ls in just under two months. I eat the same amount whether I work out or not.

I have an apple body shape, and while I dont see a change in my waist, my shorts do fit better. But what I see is my boobs disappearing at an alarming rate. I went from a DD to a C in two months. Im so scared of what the end product is going to look like. Ive started saving for a boob lift and implants -_-

Couldnt make it to the gym so I took my kids to the playground and did walking lunges, bench jumps, jumping jacks... then when we got home I used my son as a weight bar for bench press (hes 33 pounds) til my arms were tired, had him sit on my back while I did planks, uh, and a few other monkey stuff that he thought was…

After dinner, I just want to pig out so badly. I just keep telling myself it's my body's way of telling me I'm thirsty. Most days it works.

If you dont have time in the morning, make egg muffins! I put spinach or tomatoes or sauteed onions, with about 2 eggs and 12 egg whites, bake at 400 for about 15-20 mins. They heat up in the microwaves in 20 seconds are great for rushing out the door with.

I seem to be really caught in the middle. My husband is a huge believer that the protein push is unnecessary, that you can obtain everything from diet, and that whey protein will just make me fat. My husband is very tall and muscular and defined, so its hard to argue with his results. And I am trying to lose weight, but…

Well, Im 5'5, with a medium build, and about 150 lbs. Besides being pregnant Im at the heaviest Ive ever been. I was very athletic in high school, too skinny in college, normal weight during my baby making years (my son is 2 1/2 and my daughter is 1), and now on the verge of being overweight. Ive been prepping meals…
