  • This^ I miss the older larger Sandisk players, but Clips work well. I've always used Windows Media Player - loading music was always really easy. My new Windows laptop has something else......I haven't tried it yet.
  • These claims are never proven. ALL weight loss (except liposuction or other surgical procedure) requires a calorie deficit. Keto is great for a whoosh of water weight loss in the beginning. But that's not fat loss, and won't continue each week. Now you could eat more (as in quantity) with low calorie - high volume foods.…
  • Do you have a medical reason for monitoring sugar? I don't even track it; it's a subset of carbs already. I choose to monitor fiber instead. Fruit is good with all it's fiber. The WHO numbers are for added sugar:…
  • There's a lot of good information here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10300331/most-helpful-posts-getting-started-must-reads#latest You came to the right place. Keeping logging and you'll do great.
  • Was this advice from an actual medical doctor? Very low calorie diets prescribed by a doctor are typically for the morbidly obese, and medically supervised. These diets aren't do-it-yourself plans as most doctors would provide supplements. Vitamin injections, etc. Weight loss is about calories. Fat is filling for some…
  • This^ Force yourself to do something. Run in place during commercials, or make a goal of 10 (or 15) minutes of exercise for every hour of TV, or buy a piece of equipment to use during. Ideas for commercials - deck of cards workout. https://www.verywellfit.com/how-to-use-playing-cards-to-create-a-workout-routine-85990
  • Seasoning blends like Weber and McCormick's Grill Mates. They both come in a veggie variety. Roasting veggies in the air fryer, yum!
  • Okay, so water doesn't work for you. Play around with meal timing and macros. Plan your meal times and include snacks when needed. Protein is filling for me, so I'm sure to include it at every meal. Are you wanting to eat because you are hungry or because of habit? I used to eat while watching TV, no more. Mindless eating…

  • Exactly.^ The gram weight of 2 tablespoons is also listed on the package. This is a prime example of something that should be weighed.
  • Iced tea? Make your own, it's simple enough. I like to use flavored tea bags - Twinings Green w/ Pomegranate, Raspberry & Strawberry makes a nice fruity tea. Don't make the water too hot or the tea will be bitter. Herbal teas work as well - Lipton makes a family sized herbal tea (= 4 individual bags) - Strawberry &…

  • This^ Last time I bought the powder, the store was out of my usual brand. Metamucil is popular for a reason. Anyway, I bought a substitute, yuck!
  • I agree ^ You're doing great! Keep up the good work.

  • Not really a meal to me either, but this website can generate some ideas. Put in 200 calories and 1 meal. https://www.eatthismuch.com/ It looks like, for lunch & dinner ideas you will need to bump up the calories.
  • If you plugged your stats into My Fitness Pal, it did the math for you. You are burning calories 24/7. Active people burn more than sedentary. Deliberate exercise is another way to burn calories. BUT if you plugged your stats into My Fitness Pal you got a calorie goal without exercise. Some people can exercise and some…

  • Think in terms of permanent changes. What kinds of things are you willing to do forever? The weight loss phase is just the first step. The maintenance phase is also a step. A smaller you requires fewer calories to maintain.
  • Start slow and keep it steady. Try some new things. YouTube is great for this. Keep trying until you find something you enjoy doing. Find a group here, join a challenge, or make a goal for yourself. Motivation can be fleeting. Find a way to keep yourself accountable. Good luck!
  • There is no way to target belly fat. Take in fewer calories than your body uses (consistently) and you will lose weight. Where that weight loss comes from is largely genetic. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1

  • What would you hope to accomplish in 5 days time? Low carb, or very low carb will result in some water weight loss. Fat loss is going to be based on calorie deficit. You simply can't lose much weight (real weight) in 5 days. Saturated fat isn't considered healthy fat, instead it's consider okay in moderation. Except for…

  • Your family doesn't want to see you eat foods you enjoy while still losing weight. Could it be they are jealous? Maybe they lack the self control to do this for themselves and don't believe anyone else can either. You have to be perfect all of the time? Good luck with maintenance then. Thin people aren't perfect all the…
  • Not to burst your bubble, but weight loss doesn't usually increase over time, it does the opposite. You did good the first couple of weeks. There's some water weight loss initially (with low carbing especially). The third week, fourth week, etc. will slow to a more sustainable pace. 6.5 pounds of fat loss would be a 22,750…
  • Weight loss (or gain) is about calories. Your body uses calories 24/7. The goal for weight loss is to take in fewer calories than your body uses in a given day - ie: keep a calorie deficit. The foods you choose are up to you. Keep in mind protein, fat and fiber are filling components. Some people stay full with lower fat…
  • Every other day dieting or zig-zagging your calories can work. Weekends can be tough. Instead of not logging at all, you might allow yourself more calories (say eat maintenance on weekends) and eat a little less during the week to compensate. This is zig-zagging your calories. If you're not counting, then you're guessing.…
  • Have you tried different cooking methods, fresh frozen, etc. ? I grew up eating canned veggies. Yuck! One of my favorite veggies is green beans......fresh green beans are tastey. Cauliflower roasted in an air-fryer is great. Cauliflower has such a mild flavor. Below is a simple recipe, but you can add any seasonings you…
  • First, check to see if your Pacer can be synced to My Fitness Pal. Check the APPS menu above. Second, even if you could find a way to log this as exercise.....you might not want to. The reason being, even sedentary people take steps. You have been given credit for some steps already, so counting every step as exercise is…
  • The longer dry pasta is cooked, the more water it has absorbed (same with rice). Water adds nothing to the calorie count but it "puffs" up the size. This is one reason why weighing dry pasta is going to be the most accurate method.
  • Weight loss is all about a calorie deficit. Eating less is typically the most consistent method for keeping a calorie deficit. You can lose weight without exercise. Google seated exercise on youtube. There are also DVD series like Sit to Be Fit, or Chair Dancing.…
  • Beginner Leslie Sansone - Start! Walking at Home 1 Mile or Leslie Sansone for Seniors. There are other instructors too. There is a Weight Watchers Walking DVD with Ellen Barrett that is for beginners. Look for Weight Watchers Walking Kit. This is really well done if you can find it. Stott Pilates makes a couple walking…
