  • I have a FitBit Flex and I love it!!! But I can agree, different strokes for different folks. I always track my food and water intake in MFP (instead of the FitBit site) and I mainly use it as a motivator. I don't obsess over it and I don't assume it's 100% accurate. For the most part I use my FitBit for step count,…
  • You go girl!!! I hope to be able to post some 100 lb pics some day... if I can find any "before" pics. I avoid cameras like the plague.
  • I agree on the greek yogurt. At first I was like whoa - this is GROSS!! I had to try several brands to determine which ones I could actually enjoy. Try mixing up some overnight oats or something. It will help with the tangy yogurt taste.
  • I definitely suggest speaking with your pediatrician. Being thin or having low weight does not necessarily indicate a problem. My daughter was always on the line between average and below average (but never under weight) however she was always in the 90th percentile or higher for height which means although she was thin…
  • 35 lbs in 8 weeks is fantastic. I have been exercising and trying to eat better since January and haven't reached 20 lbs yet; however, I have lost several inches and my existing clothes are looser and I've been able to buy some clothes in 1-2 sizes down. Some weeks I stay the same, some weeks I am slightly up. As everyone…
  • Added!! My instagram is feather314 It's my personal one but I post tid bits on my weight loss journey and such.
  • I'm back after a long absence. I'm just outside of Baltimore.
  • I do the same - low impact aerobics. I do have HRM but don't use it all the time. I think its a bit wonky.
  • Just pre-ordered it. It's currently $9.96 on Amazon (the seller on the one I ordered was Amazon).
  • Hmmm... while I don't think my husband wants a "traditional 50's housewife" - i.e. meal on the table when he walks in the door, doting on him, etc I do think he secretly wants me to be more wifey. Not sure if that makes sense. We both work full time; however, I work from home. We are a two income family but his income is…
  • Before my wedding I took phentermine - of course I wanted to lose weight and look fab on my wedding day. I lost a significant amount of weight; however, I was also in the gym 6 days a week. I busted my *kitten*. I ate healthy foods. I can't say for certain whether it was the diet pills or the efforts I put in... maybe a…
  • 0 miles - I have the luxury of working from home. I connect to my office (in another state) via a VPN connection. I do however have to drop the kids off at school/daycare in the mornings. It costs me $80-$90 to fill up our 2012 Durango depending on the gas prices and a tank will last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on…
  • As far as school sports, let's just say she's not sports inclined and is somewhat of a klutz. She does enjoy swimming and the swim team is always an option but she doesn't start high school until the fall and middle schools around here do not have team/school sports. I could look into the local swim centers for options…
  • I think you misunderstood my comment. By slippery slope I meant that I didn't want her going in the direction of feeling like she needed to be super skinny and lose a lot of weight. I never said that she didn't need to exercise. I never said that I didn't want her to be healthy. I said that she didn't need to lose actual…
  • Thanks for the suggestions so far. Not sure a gym membership is feasible (both time and budget). I do have JM 30 day shred DVD so that one is definitely an option. EEEK!! I did this once and loved the results but it was havoc on my knees by the end. I have a couple light hand weights (3 and 5 lbs) but can always go grab…
  • Hi there, I'm a 30 something mom (35). Have two kids, almost 14 yo daughter and 4 yo son. Feel free to add me and best of luck!!
  • Wow!! You lookk fabulous and HAPPY... so wonderful. Your stats are similar to mine... well the starting stat anyway. I want to get down to 155/150 so you are a great inspiration.
  • I love Leslie's DVD's and have a handful of them. Lately I've been doing the 5 Day Slim Down and the 5 Realy Big Miles (I don't do 5 miles everday - I break it down to 1-3 depending on how much time I have. I try to do at least one 4-5 mile walk/DVD per week). I somehow always seem to go back to the classic - Walk Away The…
  • I took before and after photos for when I did the 30 Day Shred but haven't bothered with pics since then. I take measurements every 30-60 days (or try to remember to take them). I mostly guage progress by the way my clothes fit (since the scale doesn't always play nice).
  • I am 34 now. Pregnant at 20 (turned 21 two months before she was born). Second child at 30. The kids have the same father and we are still together (married 8 years, together for a total of almost 15 years). No more kids for me us though. We're done.
  • My daughter (almost 14) is 5'4" and weighs around 98-100 lbs. She's a size 0 but eats like a horse!!!! I swear it all goes to her feet (10 or larger in women's). I don't think you need to lose weight but perhaps focus on being healthy. You say you want to maintain your weight? Adjust your MFP profile to reflect that…
  • Leslie Sansone Walk Way the Pounds DVDs, Cathe Friedrich DVD's, and/or Jillian Michaels DVD's. You can view samples of most of these online to see if they are something you'd be interested in. Check out your local library (or Netflix if you are a subscriber) as well. Good luck!!
  • Hmmm, I've never paid that much attention to the "knife' however I always get a six inch veggie sub. I know that my Subway has knives at the bread end of the counter that are only used for bread. Then 1 person puts on your cheese - with gloves (and meat if you're into that). Then someone else puts on your veggies (with…
  • Congratulations!!! You look wonderful!!
  • We have a Samsung in the living room and haven't had any issues with it. I don't know if it's true or not but we were told that the parts for Samsung and Sony are made in the same place - just with didn't labels. We've had Sonys in the past. We haven't seen any difference in quality or longevity. Now with that being said…
  • Feeling like I'm a slow loser. 30 lbs since starting MFP in April (averages to 5 lbs per month). All in all I guess thats really not that bad. I've also lost 14 inches overall (since I started tracking in June so...). I just keep plugging away, doing what I'm doing. I'll get to where I need to be eventually.
  • What an inspiring story. You look great!! Congrats on your success. And I totally loved the pics and captions. Very cute.
  • WATP 2 mile with 3lb hand weights
  • Walk Away the Pounds Express 4 mile Super Challenge. It was the first time I tried it. Loved it and felt great afterwards!! Will definitely be adding this into rotation.
  • Good for you!!!
