Spark, you are so wise! Tracking measurements, calories, and other healthy lifestyle changes is so much more reliable than an arbitrary number.

Massage the skin. Or dry brush. Increase the blood to your skin. It is the last organ to receive nutrients. Nutrients via circulation will keep it healthy and rejuvenated. I am 61 and do both massage and dry brushing daily.

Janice, I was single for 20 years before I started dating again. (widowed at 24 with babies) Anyway, dipped my toes back in around age 44. Met my husband when I was 47. The whole dating and being romanced was fun!

Hello, I'm Judy from outside Chicago, IL, US. I've been lurking around for a while, trying LCHF. Finally got serious about it. So far, so good. But I have to be so strict with myself if I want the scale to move. This level of discipline is tough! Anyway, I thought maybe this is the time to step out of the shadows. My life…

So I am....unsettled. I broke the fast Friday around 10 a.m. As the day wore on, my appetite increased. I ended up eating more than I planned to, yet stayed slightly under on net carbs & calories. Fully expecting a gain Saturday morning. But...but....it went down again! Just 0.2#, but it is down. I planned to record my…

Remember the saying: A house should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. I have a very happy house! ;)

I've been fasting for 36 hours, plan to have breakfast in the next hour or so. I'm not really hungry yet. So scale results are that I dropped 2.8# from Thursday a.m. to this morning. I think I'll record my weight in MFP tomorrow as that's my routine. Expecting an increase. And I'm curious how the next week will play out on…

I've been low-ish carb for a few weeks(>100). Spent the holiday weekend adjusting to >25 carbs. Feeling OK. So to answer questions: 1) Keto adapted - yes, I believe so. 2) Exercise - intense 1 day a week. Yes. 3) Weigh daily - I'll comply 4) Log food - doing this 5) Water fast for min. 30 hours - I think I can do this. I'm…

Just had a fresh tomato with my breakfast.

Question about exercise: You say intense exercise one day only, two days after fasting. How about less intense exercise? Like stretching, resistance bands, walking... activities that don't necessarily break a sweat?
-
OP, I use Premier Protein, too. One at breakfast keeps me satisfied for 4 hours.

Great article and challenge! Thank you!

Sorry the job didn't work out. There must be an even better opportunity coming your way! Today, I'll make an effort to find the positive in all situations. That huge pile of work on my desk is Job Security. :)

Last week was tough for me. It was suggested that I'm trying to do too much too fast. So KISS is perfect! My goal: I will Simply engage in a physical activity for a minimum of 15 minutes each day. It's a place to begin.

It isn't exactly new, but...I wanted to learn to hula hoop. Got frustrated and its been sitting in a corner for months. Today, I recommitted and practiced for 15 minutes. That's the goal: Practice/try to keep it up for 15 minutes a day.

Do things that bring blood to the skin. Massage, dry brushing, loofa, etc. Use a good cream and massage well. Keep the skin well nourished. Be consistent and be patient. You're young and I think you'll see improvements over time. Congrats on the weight loss!

OP, I understand. I've been doing well for a couple weeks. Now I feel the enthusiasm fading away. I'm thinking more about the old way of eating -- how comfortable it was. I miss it. Yet when I start to move, even just from my desk, I feel the heaviness and the knee pain. I have been giving myself pep talks and stern…

I went to my first Aquafit class today. And I love it! This is worth every bit of my gym membership.

Tracking -- every bite -- every day

Advanced age - Hahaha! My experience is that the weight came off in proportion equal to effort until I turned 50. Now I have to work for every pound.

Some of the food I used to eat tastes disgusting. Mostly, as I get older, my body is more sensitive to the quality and quantity of what I eat. I think it's an age thing, not diet related. If I'm not dieting, the same reactions occur if I eat in certain ways. Good news: Age has forced me to listen to my body.

I have 100# to lose. Terrible, old knees. Only way I walk is with Nordic poles. They help so much! I also like therabands for toning (good suggested exercises on You Tube). And I am trying to learn to hula hoop, with little success! My favorite, tho, is swimming. It is scary to find yourself so out of shape that just…

I had RNY in 2002. Initially lost, then over 8 years, gained all back. Yes I did. I found that I could graze on carbs all day. Chips, cookies, cake, crackers, and bread just went right thru my stomach and didn't affect me adversely at all. Now I'm off that kind of food. Carbs come from fruits and veggies. Since the RNY, my…

I can get obsessive with the scale. I keep it in a spare room under the bed so I have to be purposeful when I weigh. I've been doing well and stepping on just once a week....until.... This weekly weigh-in showed no loss. How dare it! And now I've weighed 4 days in a row, impatiently waiting for the number to drop (which I…

I increased my daily steps on my fit bit. The weather is lovely - for a change! So I am walking for 30 minutes at noon.
