  • I boil 3 to 4 cups of water in a pot and the brew the tea bags in that then add a couple more quarts of cold water/ice. Then I store it in the refrigerator for all the above reasons.
  • If they have a good carne asada, get that. And either stay away from the chips and dip or severely limit them if that is in your abilities (is not in mine, lol). eta: just saw you're not eating red meat, so nevermind on the carne asada. I second the chicken fajitas sans the tortillas then
  • Right now I just started A Storm of Swords in the GOT series. I had to take a little break between the last one and this one so I read the Start Trek novel Imzadi, lol. It was a lot of fun. Jumping back in to GOT, but plan on leaving out all of Theon's chapters :# . I read on my kindle and get a lot of free books from…
  • I usually just take off the first two days if it's a week day. TMI here, but I use a menstrual cup, which is GREAT, except when I already have limited time in the morning before work and I have to take several minutes to deal with that business before I can even get dressed, and sometimes there's a mess if I've slept…
  • Factor it in to MFP as putting "active", which gives you a little more calories. But don't add it again as exercise. Only add dedicated time purposefully doing exercises.
  • I do eat animals though, and they have faces...hmmmm. I think the difference is, if I was the bitmoji person, it seems like I'd be biting in to their faces while they're still alive and dancing and they might possibly start screaming so I don't think I'd be ok with that on a human level.
  • If you have the extra money and enjoy looking at the different stats then yeah, it's worth it even if you don't do "traditional" exercises. I have the fitbit Charge HR 2 (I think?) and I do look at my steps and log when I run or lift weights, but it also tracks my menstrual cycle, utilizes weight trend technology, tracks…
  • It's not the dancing part that would turn me off, but the food having faces.
  • One or two of those small cans of prune juice do it for me and my son when we get backed up, lol. I always keep a few in the house for uncomfortable times.
  • interesting. I do that often on my way home from work! When there's construction here though, they set out signs saying "Merge Now. It's the law"
  • I've literally never heard the term "zipper merge".
  • I slow down, take my time, and if they happen to try to change lanes and go around me then I quickly speed up so they can't get in front of me, lol. This is only during rush hour traffic when it's most important to NOT tailgate, easily causing accidents which is the worst during rush hour. Any other time I just get over if…
  • There's a few. Any time I have tried to do jazzercise with my mom (She stopped inviting me about two years ago during my visits home, she says it's the money but I don't believe her, lol). At 14 I fell off a treadmill. A couple years ago tried to do sit ups on the yoga ball and fell flat on my back. First time swimming…
  • Hiking up Pike's Peak or some similarly majestic AF mountain and then hang gliding (is that the right thing?) all the way back down. Then, if I didn't die doing that, all you can eat lobster. ETA: all you can eat seafood, in general. I don't want to be tied down to just lobster.
  • All I can think of is sex related things and kicking Donald Trump in the balls, really hard.
  • Waiting for this to come back in style
  • I do at work. I have a lot of downtime where I usually read (or MFP), so instead I will walk in place while reading. I try to get to 15 minutes because then it'll count it as a work out, lol. For me, is does count all the steps, as far as I can tell. ETA: when it does log it as a work out, it logs it as being on the…
  • My first few vacations as an adult was like that. Brought my running shoes but never used them, lol. My last few though, I actually did utilize the gyms. One was on a cruise and the treadmills over looked the horizon, it was really peaceful (a different day I ran around the deck for a few miles and that was also really…
  • I'm not sure what effect you're thinking of or why showering has anything to do with what work out you do (other than helping you not stink)....but if I'm sweating a lot and have to get ready for work, I like to make sure the temp is on the cooler side, otherwise I just continue sweating even after I get out of the shower…
  • so this is NOT about Star Trek..... ::backing away slowly::
  • I weigh daily, in the mornings (after using the restroom). I log it in to my fitbit app that uses a weight trend graph. Lots of normal weight fluctuations but it's the trend I'm interested in.
  • Usually on any first day at a new gym I like to first do a walk around then find either a treadmill or elliptical that’s centrally located and get on that while I continue to look around and take everything in. It gives me an idea of where I want to start, what areas are crowded, where I’ll be able to stretch at the end,…
  • I love fitnessblender.com. Their videos are also on youtube. Lots of workouts that you can do at home without weights.
  • I work out in the mornings before work and only have about 40 minutes start to finish and do just fine with nothing but coffee and water. On the weekends I will do longer sessions, sometimes in the morning before eating or sometimes in the afternoon at least 1 or 2 hours after lunch. I don't particularly notice a…
  • I go to work. I only have time for about 40-45 minutes for my work outs during the work week so it’s hard to exhaust myself, lol.
  • I get the same way while swimming. I don’t have waterproof music and I just get bored and have trouble pushing myself. I really think that if I had music that it would help tremendously. If you have spare money, maybe look into a waterproof iPod or something. I also suggest having a planned out routine to keep you going…
  • I have successfully lost up to ten pounds by eating 1650 a day. I’m 5’5” and close to my preferred maintenance range at 138
  • You can definitely do stronglift 5X5. I did it and enjoyed it, but I will let you know that it is likely to increase your hunger. Or at least it did for me (and I've heard the same from others) and I had trouble keeping to my calorie goals the day of. I didn't realize why I was so hungry all of a sudden till I figured out…
  • For coffee, I just enter the creamer calories in my food diary. Some people will add 5 calories per cup of coffee, but I do not.
