  • We are remodeling the bathroom, so the economic stimulus payment means we can do it sooner rather than later!
  • Those restaurant breakfasts are KILLERS! You can count on them being at least 1000 calories. With toast being 150 cals per slice minimum, pancakes at 200 or more each, donuts & muffins at least 300 each, butter, syrup, cheese.....it adds up quickly!
  • My current (and probably LAST) career is that of a paralegal. Our firm deals mainly with Workers' Comp, SSD, and personal injury claims, but also handles employment issues. Prior to this career, I was a real estate agent for a couple years, an at-home mom, in-home day care provider, retail clerk, and Occupational Therapy…
  • You look fabulous.....keep it up!:drinker:

  • One day, the young woman on the elliptical ahead of me wore the wrong underwear.....every 20 seconds or so she would reach behind her and tug on the wedgie!! :noway: I also love the ones who jack up the incline on the treadmill, then hold onto the bar and lean waaaayyy back while walking, or basically suspend themselves…
  • Bread is a calorie bomb! I love all types of breads, muffins, rolls, etc.....but rarely ate any when I was losing my weight, and I think twice about eating it now that I am maintaining. I haven't had a muffin since September because I know they are at LEAST 500 calories each. It's not worth the price!
  • Today is a new day......
  • Consider it a learning experience, and move on! When I go overboard on calories, I am very careful for the next couple of days to not over-indulge.
  • this was my day when I stepped on the scales....... :noway: (we ate at Olive Garden last night, and I forgot to take my willpower with me! :blushing: )
  • I'm sorry he isn't being supportive of your hard work. Be true to yourself......you will feel better, look better, and be healthier as you lose weight and improve your fitness level. Some people just don't understand why anyone would want to deprive themselves of "goodies", torture themselves at the gym, decide not…
  • When my husband and I were on the strict calorie-reduction, we would have an ice cream treat of some sort any night we had some calories left. By allowing ourselves this treat, we never felt deprived by limiting our calories to 1200. We both lost over 15 lbs in 3 months doing this! We found the Weight Watchers…
  • My husband was talking to (male) co-workers about needing to lose weight, and his boss mentioned it. We both signed on that night.
  • My "lightbulb moment" came when I was playing on the computer and just wanted to see what my BMI was.....I was absolutely mortified that I was JUST under the OBESE range. ME?? Obese???? I was skinny all my life until I hit 40, and have slowly crept up in weight over the past 10 yrs. I would go clothes shopping and come…
  • She needs to see her doctors promptly, and follow their advice and treatment plans.....knowledge combined with action is key. I had to go thru the whole "bad PAP" routine 2 yrs ago.....HPV+ (my doctor said it had probably been dormant for many years), colposcopy, then a LEEP (partial removal of the cervix). All subsequent…
  • I noticed the same thing.....and that the food I used to LOVE isn't as satisfying any more. We had fast food burger and fries for dinner the other night <gasp>, and afterwards I felt heavy, bloated, and funky! :ohwell: It was a good reminder that even though some food tastes good at first, it's not necessarily good FOR you!
  • Quaker raisin spice oatmeal with a handful of walnuts and dried cranberries thrown in 1 English muffin w/a little bit of soft margarine 2 mugs of tea
  • I agree with Deanea....you need to "lighten up" some of your food choices. Low calorie bread for your sandwiches....reduced calorie mayonnaise or mustard (even better since it's fat-free and calorie-free).....berries or orange or apple instead of a banana.....and forget the baked beans! They are delicious and full of…
  • Just be careful about the calories in fruit.....some of them are pretty sneaky! :frown:
  • I now longer log my food and exercise....in the 3+ months it took to lose the 18 pounds I needed to lose, I got used to the lifestyle and eating changes. I have stuck with them, so now I use the scale as my guide....I weigh myself nearly every day, and that tells me if I have to be a little extra careful that day, or if I…
  • I would do a small salad with low-fat Greek dressing, and cook some rice in low-sodium chicken broth
  • Went to Tim Horton's and had a chicken salad sandwich on a white roll, and a small vanilla iced cappuccino (I'm on maintenance, so this was a treat.......I haven't allowed myself an "ice cap" since September!) :drinker:
  • 2 mugs of tea w/sugar Cheerios w/ 6 cut up strawberries and 2% milk
  • 2 C-sections here....."kids" are 23 and 27.......still have the "pooch"! :frown:
  • I now how you feel.....I bought new jeans this weekend, too.......2 sizes smaller than the last ones I bought!
  • You could EASILY be drinking 100 calories with each cup of coffee when you use creamer and sugar. Coffee itself is basically calorie-free....BUT.... Sugar is 16 cals per level teaspoon (measuring spoon, NOT silverware spoon) Creamer (vanilla flavored) is 35 calories per tablespoon, and it's not hard to use 2 or more…

  • Dove miniatures......37 cals each.......take tiny bites and let them melt in your mouth!
  • Bicardi rum is NOT calorie-free......carb-free, yes, but has about 70 cals per shot

  • I take Citrical tablets.....the chews made my stomach feel funky
  • Burning 760+ cals every day is not a realistic goal......you should be paying attention to the net calories for the day. Your height and starting weight are just about the same as mine, and I had a daily target of 1200 cals a day. I lost 16 lbs in under 10 wks.
