  • I lost 20 lbs 1 yr ago with the help of this website, and have kept it off. I gave myself a 5 lb range to stay in......if I go below the bottom number, I know I have been too strict with my eating. If I hit the top number, I'm back on the 1200 cals a day for a few days. In the 3 months it took to lose the weight, I adopted…
  • Be careful about supplementing the shakes with the Activia and the fiber bar......all that extra fiber might not be so pleasant if your body isn't used to it!!! :noway:
  • Skinny Cow is good stuff! My husband and I also love the Slim-a-Bear ice cream bars by Klondike.....only 100 calories, and you get the chocolate coating and creamy vanilla ice cream of a regular ice cream bar for far fewer calories! We used to eat a bowl of regular ice cream most nights, and these lower-calorie treats have…
  • I love HEALTH magazine.....lots of great articles, and it's written for the "average" person, not gym rats and hyper-nutritionists.
  • we have MANY 100 calorie pack snacks in our house (and in my desk at work).....if you can limit yourself to ONE pack, I find them pretty harmless.......people like my husband who have trouble with self-limits aren't deterred by the 100 calorie packages!! :noway:
  • the advice I got from my doctor: 1) eat less fat -- lower fat dairy products, trim all fat from your meat, no chicken skin, no fried foods, less red meat, etc 2) more whole grains, especially oats -- oatmeal or Cheerios for breakfast is a daily routine for me 3) eat more fish -- my doctor recommended fish 3 times a week,…
  • I love pizelles, but wasn't aware they are so low in calories!! I haven't looked at cookies in anything but 100-calorie packs since last September......I see a pack of pizelles in tomorrow's shopping cart!!
  • This movie is a perfect "home-alone-and-I-wanna-cry" movie!! Me and my box of tissues enjoyed it tremendously! I would NOT even consider asking my husband to watch this one....and he's not opposed to a chick flick now and then.
  • nuts from the BAKING section, not the SNACK section......no added oil or salt!
  • Rendition, Deja Vu, and Neverwas.....loved them all! PS I Love You (if you are in the mood to cry for 2 hours!)
  • now try working out carrying 5 bags of sugar!!!!!!:noway:
  • I weigh myself every morning since I started with MFP in Sept 2007 (except when I'm not home)...it keeps me on track or allows me to relax a bit that day. I have been in maintenance mode for several months now, and I have a "trigger weight" that I absolutely REFUSE to go over ever again :grumble: ....if I see myself close…
  • I'd like to add to the list: Klondike Slim-a-bear ice cream bars (chocolate covered vanilla ice cream)....they are 100 cals each, 6 g of fat (no trans fat)
  • Definitely MEASURE your serving and put it in a bowl......then put the can or jar away! Nuts are high in calories, but the fats in them are very healthy. It is waaaaaay too easy to eat several hundred (or a thousand if you're my husband!) calories without blinking an eye!:noway:

  • You need protein in order for your body to function properly......fruits and veggies alone won't provide you with the nutrition you need, unless you add legumes (baked beans, kidney beans, garbanzos, etc), peanut butter, soy. The protein will also help stabilize your blood sugar and keep you from feeling hungry too soon.
  • wedges are better for your back because they are more stable.....but even high wedges can hurt your feet and your back

  • I am a paralegal in a small law firm (2 attorneys). The firm concentrates on Workers' Compensation, personal injury, and Social Security Disability claims. I found my career niche at the age of 40 when I was going through a divorce and needed a better income. I went back to college, graduated with honors, and have been…
  • Stress fractures HURT! I had a couple of stress fractures in my right foot when I fractured my left big toe (got the stress fracture from walking funny due to the "real" fracture)......anyway, the stress fracture hurt just as much as the full fracture. A fracture is a fracture is a broken bone.....no matter how it happened!
  • Love the hair!!! It shows off your new, slimmer face!
  • You should be eating your exercise calories! If you don't, you are getting yourself into starvation mode, and your body will shut down the weight loss function to prevent you from starving. Your body needs fuel to work properly.
  • this recipe is FABULOUS!!!! Serve with a little rice or noodles, and a salad. I saw it on this website a few months ago and it's now a regular among my recipes!
  • when I was in the "losing" mode and wanted a crunchy snack at my desk, I ate cut up raw veggies (specifically celery, green peppers, and a few carrots and/or cherry tomatoes). You can have 1-2 cups of pepper and celery chunks for under 100 cals.....it's not necessarily filling, but it keeps the hands and mouth busy for a…
  • .....if you have read EVERY post by Banks and icandoit!
  • You've come to the right place.....follow this program of calorie awareness and increased activity (calories in, calories out) and you will lose weight. Don't second-guess the plan....just follow it! Eat the calories you are allotted every day. I lost 18 lbs in just over 2 months, and have now maintained that loss since…
  • Enjoy your celebration! and forget about feeling guilty!!!! One day will not kill your goals, and you and your husband deserve to enjoy the day, the meal, and each other!
  • LOVE strawberries!!! Great on cereal Iike Cheerios or Rice Krispies, or covered with vanilla yogurt....yummy! Add a few blueberries and/or raspberries, and it's even better!
  • "Perky" and "upper fullness" are possible.....if you learn to walk on your hands!!!!! :noway:
  • I didn't realize that was the season finale!!!! I have watched EVERY episode, and love the show. Finally got my daughter to start watching it, too. She says that Nora is both the ultimate mom and the mom no one wants all at once! I can't decide how I feel about the Justin/Rebecca thing.......I want them both to be happy…
