Yeah, portion control is important - but I also want to be sure that I have enough alternatives to potato casserole which is probably 500 calories a serving, macaroni and cheese (300+), green bean casserole (400+) etc. Thanks for the ideas!

Do we have results yet?

How is everyone recording their workouts? Should we put it as circuit or what in the diary? I didn't record it yesterday because I wasn't sure how to...
-
An extra 5K today? I already do four miles a day, I'm not sure I can make it to 7 miles a day without working up to it. I'll try my best!

So Gemma and I talked this morning, and since the challenge isn't up yet, we're going to go through a circuit of the nine exercises listed as new for October, doing each exercise for 60 seconds, resting 10 seconds between moves, then repeat the whole thing from the top at least once, maybe twice. I did it once this morning…

Look out ladies!!! Some of the exercises we'll be doing have been posted on the Challenge blog. We're going to get our butts kicked!!

Nutritionally, frozen vegetables are most often better for you than fresh vegetables. The nutritional content of a vegetable detoriates quickly once it's been picked. Frozen vegetables are generally frozen within 24 hours of being picked, so they are at the height of their nutritional value. Fresh vegetables take a week to…

Hi team! My name is Sadie and I live in Little Rock, AR. I am super excited (and slightly nervous!) about this challenge. My weight has always fluctuated from being skinny to slightly overweight through my entire life. I gained almost twenty pounds really quickly from October to January (partly due to a change in some…

10 lbs by Christmas, which is right on track with how I've been losing weight so far.

Shellgib got me doing zig zag and it works so well! It really will get you past that plateau. I didn't lose anything for about a month and once I started zig-zagging I started dropping weight again. I read some advice on here that if you want to keep track of your zig-zag calories on the food log, set your food log as high…

I'm in an 8, but can fit anywhere from a 6 up to a 12 depending on where the pants come from. I *try* not to pay attention to the size of pants because they fluctuate so wildly even at the same store (though I can get overly upset or excited by the size sometimes). I have a pair of BR shorts that are a 12 but the BR dress…

I eat around 250 calories at breakfast and at lunch, and around 600 at dinner and am losing weight just fine.

Hi friends! I'm sorry I've been MIA for the last few weeks... it's been insanity. I'm getting back on track and am planning to do 6W6P this afternoon after work. I've missed y'all!! :)

You can freeze raw eggs but not cooked eggs. I freeze everything so here's a good list of what's in my freezer right now. Beans freeze exceptionally well, so I make all kinds of bean dishes (plain beans, bean soup, red beans to go over rice, etc.) and they come out perfectly - plus they're a quarter of the price of canned…

I have been so bad for the last few days. Work has been insane. I seriously need to fit in some workout tonight before I go to dinner. UGH!

I have a heart rate monitor that I use while I workout. It's the best thing if you want to track calories. MFP is about 20-30% off on my calories than what my HRM records.

Yeah, it's definitely hard. It gets easier. I just have to tell myself "You won't get skinny unless you get your *kitten* out of bed!" A few times and I've forced myself up.

@shell, I don't think I could fit a 50 minute workout in. That's why I do one in the morning and one in the afternoon - I can get an hour in in 30 minute increments. I HATE waking up so early in the morning, but I know I have to do it to get in shape and get to my target weight. My goal is once I get to where I want to be,…

Yeah, this is my question too. I burn about 600 calories per day working out. Today I was supposed to do 1700 calories for zig zag. Does that mean eat 1700 period, or 1700 + 600 for the calories I burned?

I got up this morning at 5:30 like usual and did 6W6P instead of RI30 or 30DS. Really bad idea. I made it through about 23 minutes and gave up. I'm definitely going to have to stick with RI30 or 30DS in the mornings and 6W6P at night. I don't know why, but I think I'm too out of it in the morning to do 6W6P. It's…

I think it's really fabulous that you've identified what's wrong and want to make it right. Do you have a state-run hospital near you? We have a state hospital here, and you can go apply for assistance to get any kind of medical care -- including therapy. We also have a non-profit mental health clinic that provides free…

Good gracious. Just finished 6W6P for the first time. It's by far the hardest JM DVD I've done. I might have to do it more often than three days a week... If I can handle it!
-
Yep! I get up at 5:30am on weekday mornings and around 6 on weekends (the hubs tees off at 7am on Sat and Sun mornings, so he is up around 5:30) and do either 30DS or RI30, then shower and get ready for the day. I run in the afternoon six days a week, but am planning to do 6W6P on three days a week instead. On weekends I…

I'm starting it this afternoon so I'm in! I've been doing 30DS and RI30. I'm on day two of week two. I'm switching back and forth each day between the DVDs because otherwise I get bored. I had done 30DS previously but didn't make it though. I was too out of shape and lazy. I'm committed now!! I usually run/walk about 30…

The obvious thing is stay totally away from soy sauce or anything made with soy sauce (i.e. sauces). Some tamari products are gluten-free, but not always. My best friend is GF and she eats sushi fine. She stays away from fried rolls because gluten products could have been fried in the same oil (gluten will hang out in the…

Hi! I'm 28 and have 26 lbs to lose. I've made it to 10. Add me as a friend!

I have the SAME problem, especially since my husband is going to be able to sleep for another hour while I am up at 5:30am. I just have to tell myself you got fat because you didn't want to workout. If you want to change, then you have to get up. I have to psych myself up to remember why I'm working out and how good I'll…

I burn about 250 or so on level one. I'm 5'6" and 154. I use a HRM.

That's so sweet! Congrats and best wishes.
