  • I'm in the same boat. I finally got my treadmil and have no excuses. I've had many over the years. Last year I lost my dog, had major finance troubles. This year I lost my young nephew and Dad within 2 months. I also was working on my degree from home while I worked 40 hours. All those things are behind me now (well still…
  • Thanks for posting the pics. It was inspiring to me as I have about the same amount of weight to lose as you did when you started. Jackie
  • I'm a picky eater too. It is difficult to get those nutrients in. I don't like many veggies, so my thing is to drink V-8 Fusion juice. I can't stand the regular tomato juice, but the fusion I can get down. And it gives me one serving of fruit and one serving of veggies. I know its better to eat the actual food rather than…
  • Congrats to all of you resisters out there! I'm not one of you. The potato soup from Panera Bread did me in. :ohwell: jackie
  • Another non-mom joining in. Sadly, I'll probably always be a non-mom as I've waited so long to lose weight that it is probably too late (I'm 43). Nice to have a place to chat that isn't all about baby fat. As mine has been on me for about 40 years! jackie
  • Hi, I have diabetes too. I completely understand how we can just put it out of our minds, until the effects start showing. My father is diabetic (just one of many health issues) and he cannot feel his feet. Definately fun to ride with him when he drives! I am very worried about my future eyesight. I have a friend who has…

  • Hi, one of the ways to keep motivated is to track your progress, not only with weight loss, but in any physical activity that you do. Perhaps the reporting that's available on this site will help you. I'm the same way, I tend to lose motivation after a time. Congrats on the 30lbs! Jackie
  • Anyone using this? Does it really work as an exercise routine? Worth it? Thanks, jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one become a butterfly?, she asked. 'You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.'

  • I suck on a sucker. It's helpful to have something in my mouth. Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one become a butterfly?, she asked. 'You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.'
  • Oh yeah, water weight is fun. :grumble: I can retain water more than just 'that' week. It is a great moment tho when you do get on the scale (after getting rid of the water weight) and seeing a huge jump. Those days are great! • Really hope she goes tonight. You can tell Bob doesn't really care for her either. Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one become a butterfly?, she asked. 'You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.'
  • I agree with those that say its the owner that makes a bad dog, not the breed. Some breeds can be more difficult than others however. I would say keep the pup, but take it to obedience and socializing classes. You have to be able to control your dog. I use to have a big rotty that was such a baby! I worst she would do is…
  • I've been thinking about getting Wii. Do you guys recommend it? How well does it help with weight loss? • I love this Doctor Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true? A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your…
  • So what did everyone think about the show? I loved it. Especially the way they shot the sceens, in particular, the begining with Hodge (?). • I love this show too. I like how they get into human behaviour. Can't wait until tonight! Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one become a butterfly?, she asked. 'You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.'
  • I've had the book about 6 months now. I'm on page 6. I find it alittle hard to read for some reason. I'll pull it out and try again. I do believe in that kind of stuff, like The Secret. • Mine are: 1. Never eat after 7:30pm 2. Clean out house-no tempting foods 3. Never to go grocery store hungry!!! • I'd like to join this. How about October startup? I have a book I read recently that I really liked. It was a romance, kinda. It also was about a women coming into her own and losing weight. And running a triathalon. Not sure if it is appropriate for what is intended here. The name was Pretty Woman. Steven King rocks!…
  • I feel comfortable with my family and friends. Most are heavy. I like this feeling, however, recently I have determined that this 'comfort' keeps me stagnet. Almost like its ok to stay fat. And I realize that I'm just hiding. We need to do things outside our comfort level. Things that scare or challenge us. New things. I…
  • I've had issues like this before. I have diabetes, heart problems and other health issues and still would delay seeing my doc for that same reason. A few years ago he gave me a very hard time about my weight and suggested several times that I get weight loss surgery. This after my father pressured me to get it too, several…
  • Well I've always been single. I do like the independence. I can do what I want, when I want. This is really convenient for dieting as I decide what comes into the house. I don't have kids either so my time is my own. I'm taking online courses to get my BA in Health Science which I don't think I could handle with a…
  • You could try slicing up a raw potato and eating with some salt on it. It sometimes does the trick for me. Good luck! • I love BL, it is so inspiring. Although I have to confess in previous years I have been known to eat some potato chips while watching. I'd keep expecting Jillian to jump out of the TV and yell at me. lol GRRRRR....I haven't seen the 1st episode yet, they decided to put on baseball instead! :grumble: They said they…
  • Hmmm, I crave (in the food category) salt bagel with cream cheese, then potato chips, then something chocolate to balance the saltiness. Gotta have balance in your life! Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one become a butterfly?, she asked. 'You must want to fly so much that you are…
  • They took BL off for baseball in my area! :grumble: BASEBALL Then said I could watch it again this weekend on a different station...of course I don't get that channel. I'm worried now that they will do it each week. How long does baseball go anyway? Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter 'How does one…
  • Hi, I've read The Secret too. It made sense to me (even if my family would think I'm a whacko for reading it). I think its hard for people to omit that they have choices, that their decisions make their lives. That way they don't have to take responsibility for how it turned out. I'm the reason I'm fat. I could…
  • I agree with everyone one else, the tat has to mean something to you. I plan on getting a butterfly with the word 'Fly' below it, because I like the symbolizm. I'm just holding out because I want to get it on my chest area and don't know where they will be once I lose my weight. Jackie Created by MyFitnessPal.com -…
