  • That is what I thought she should get checked out!
  • I add weights twice a week and Yoga two to three times a week. I want to keep the definition in my arms from weights, and Yoga is great for peace of mind, I have to admit it is difficult to put two workouts in a day, when working full time.
  • I am going on week three. I thought I was going to follow the eating plan, but I am not doing a very good job of it. I do eat healthy most of the time. However, I do like my wine on Saturday evening! The second week I found the hardest, as I am in the school system and the first week back to school with kids, was very…
  • I have been on synthroid for about 2 years and I take it as soon as I get up. I try to wait an hour before I have a cup of coffee. I have never heard of the 4 hour wait period. I don't think I could wait that long, without my cup of java!!!
  • I am on day 6 and it is a great work out. I have had personal trainers in the past and these DVD'S work me harder. The only problem I find is that there is not enough upper body work outs. So every second day I will add weights for an extra 30 minutes, after my work out. I also love Yoga, for flexibility and peace of mind.…
  • I am 52 years old and I understand that getting to the gym, after working all day is hard. I ran for about 15 years, and then started weight training. In last 5 years I started adding Yoga to my training. Running was wonderful, but my back started to really hurt. I now do spinning classes for my Cardio. Yoga has helped me…
  • I have a hypothyroid and have been on synthroid for a couple of years. Doctors would not put you on medication if your levels were within the normal range. I think it was somewhere between 4 and 5. The range of normal has now changed. That being said, normal for you could be lower. Some doctors still go by the old range.…
  • I am 52 and 5 foot 4. I feel best between 110 and 115 pounds. I have a small frame and I try to eat 1200 calories a day. On most days I exercise and burn about 400. I eat back all my calories. My progress is very slow and keeping this weight is difficult. I love food and entertaining. I have been on MFP for about a year…
  • I have IBS and what works for me is a tablespoon of ground flax seed mixed with warm water. I take this in the evening and my bowels work well in the morning. Hope this helps.
  • I also have such a difficult time with sugar. Not during the day, but certainly in the evening. I think it is a difficult addiction to beat.
  • The same thing happened to me!! Make sure you have no medical condition that may be delaying the weight lost.
  • Just Do It is also one of my favorite quotes. When it is 6 in the morning or 6 in the evening and I don't feel like doing it (exercise) I say to myself Just Do It! It will be done with in a hour. This works for me!
  • I have IBS and it sure can be uncomfortable. I find that if I take just a couple of teaspoons of flaxseed with warm water at night. My bowels empty more easier in the morning. If I am stressed or away from home, I really seem to have more of a problem. Anyway if you can, give the flaxseed a shot and see how it works for…
  • I work in the school system and I also fine September a time to start focusing on my goals. With not a lot of routine and more down time in the summer, things begin to grow (belly, arm, etc.) I have always been quite focused at maintaining my goals. I try very hard to keep a weekly routine. Strength training twice a week,…
  • That sounds like me. I am 5'4 and when I was younger I stayed around 110 and 115. I would only work out for about 30 min. a day with the children. Now that I am fifty. I have the time to at least work out six days a week.. I am also still about a size two to four and weigh between 117 to 120. I an not perfect as the skin…
  • Now this is a nice post! Thank you for sharing.
  • I am also the same height as you and weigh around 120. My goal weight is 115 to 110. I can maintain on 1700, but in order to loose I have to stay with 1200. I also work out 5 times a week and usually eat only half the calories I burn back. It is difficult to get those last few pounds off! Good Luck.
  • I agree that you should see a personal trainer to help you with your form. I used one for that reason.. Some people need the motivation of a trainer. If they are paying for it, they will show up. Group session are cheaper and sometimes they can be more fun. As misery sometimes enjoys company!
  • I just bought a Polar Fit and I love it!

  • I am better off not to even start with sugar. As soon as I start eating sugar, its almost like my body craves more.
  • I have been runnning for years and then in the last two years, my back and knees were really starting to hurt. I also did not want to quit running. However, I had to make a choice. I decided to give my knees a break and joined some great spinning classes. I also decided to start doing Yoga and weights. I still miss my…
  • Hello fitness pals! My name is Cathy and I joined Fitness Pal a week ago. I like the way this program tracks food and exercise. Summer and Calgary Stampede will be difficult. So maintaining this summer is a good goal for me. Fitness needs to be part of your lifestyle. If you don't use your muscles, you loose your muscles.…
