Proper shoes and seamless socks. I got fitted at an Asics store. They have a 60 day return policy if the shoes don't work for you.

Strava works well for me

Hi, it will differ from person to person. Might be you are doing too much too soon? Get an expert to have a look at what shoes suit you best. This worked for me. Do you do any stretching?

Thanks all for the valuable insights. Will grab a new pair this weekend to be safe. Did a quick check on Strava. Very few of my running club members seem to be on more than 400 miles on their shoes.

Jefit. Lots of options in the free version

Do skip rope. Add a few extra minutes each day and watch your stamina grow

I am a mountain biker. Spinning helps me in the office season. Certainly burns enough calories to help me meet my daily goals.

Polar v800. High accuracy. If you serious about recording, get a Polar. In my experience, no other device compares in accuracy and consistency.

I have been having the same problem over the last couple of months, but uploading from Polar Flow.

Me too

What others said about discipline. Tried it and now the bench is ideal for hanging clothes. The weights are also useful for DIY work when you are gluing something together and need to hold it in place. I found it too easy to make excuses. Once I drive to my local gym and get in, it is harder to turn back.

The gym laundry from twice a day would kill me

Skinny jeans!

Try to incentive yourself. Promise yourself to buy something nice if you meet certain goals. I promised myself new running shoes if I dropped below 67kg by 31 Aug. Weighed 67.1kg just now

Thanks guys, will give it a go and give some feedback.

Same here. Have the one with the neck band. Beats having the cable stick on my sweating neck. Plus almost 9 hour battery life!
-
Reasonably new, please feel free to add!

Interesting. Today my Polar v800 with chest strap recorded 250 cals for 25 minutes of strength training. 68kg, 172cm male. Extrapolated unscientifically, it is 750 cals per hour. Intense session with mostly squats and lunges with dumb bells.

Strangely enough, I find running outside easier than on a treadmill at 0.5% incline. Not very scientfic, but at an average of 80% heart rate, I run a 6min/km for 5km on a treadmill and 5:30/km for 5km outside. The outside run has an average gradient of 1.7%. Treadmill feels like much more effort!

Bodyweight exercises and kettlebells. Some good "class" videos on YouTube

Instead of doing 5k each day, aim for 35k per week. On good days you may do much more than 5k, on bad days less than 5k or rest. However, you will average 5k per day and your body will thank you for this.

Two years ago, I went and got fitted with a pair of asics. Best improvement to my running in years!
-
Have to be in it to win it!
-
If you train at a similar pace, over time you will find your heart rate decreasing. As an example, I have been running the exact same 5km route over the last year and have seen my average heart rate drop from 90% to 75%. Certainly seems easier if not faster. That is progress for me.

Used it for about a year with android. It records and logs- you can review file afterwards to check your stats. Through the app or via the Polar Flow app You can run the app in the background if you want to say look at your messages while on the spinning bike. Number of in app purchases like a fitness test, etc. After a…

Hey, started using a 510 for cycling. Feel free to add user Desigan.

Correct. The H7 can transmit a 5 kHz signal (number of Polar watches + treadmill) and a smart bluetooth signal (smartphones) simultaneously. The Polar Beat app is good but unfortunately does not sync data to any 3rd party sites like Myfitnesspal. However the H7 is compatible with the Endomondo app which automatically…

Check out the app called Fitness Buddy. I use android but it should be on iOS as well. You can use it to create a workout plan for different muscle groups. Also shows you the correct form to do the exercises - pics and short clips. Good luck!
