  • I have done CLX in the past as well as TurboFire, Insanity & P90X and started Focus 25 today and quite enjoyed it although I am not sure if it will be enough to see results either. I liked all the programs but I really saw the most results from P90X (the weights, I did cardio from Insanity, TurboFire, CLX or running). I am…
  • It is normal to gain weight in the beginning of a program as you are likely building muscle mass. Your calories may be a little low but it depends on the quality of your calories. If you are serious about losing weight, cut out the refined sugar (even the odd drink) I know it was killing my weight loss for sometime even…
  • yes all the doctors I talked to (harrassed..begged ;)) told me there was nothing I could do about my TSH and basically until it got to 5, then I would have to take medication. Well, I think this is pretty good proof that lifestyle changes do work and work well! I am also following a much more raw way of eating (as it…
  • So I just wanted to post an update to let everyone know that I have finally started to lose weight, about a month ago maybe? I did a 3 day cleanse and lost 5 lbs which was quite exciting but I did it more to try to give my body a jolt and remove toxins as I have heard that having too many toxins in your body (apparently…
  • search on this group for the supplements & tips post as I tried to compile a list of the advice I got from here and around the web for supplements and lifestyle changes that have helped others and myself
  • yes study after study seems to have shown that people who skip breakfast tend to weight more. I hate eating breakfast but I find when I don't I am tired all day so I have a light breakfast (eggs & toast or a smoothie) I think the not eating in the evening is huge though, of course that is when I like to eat ;) So I am…
  • I had a problem with that too and found audio hypnosis SUPER helpful (I also used it for exercise motivation, sleep problems & fear of flying) For me they work amazingly!!! I just listen to them before going to bed and within a couple days I noticed a big difference and so easy. I got the downloads online but not sure if I…
  • wowzers girlee, awesome work :) That is only 20lbs?!?!? That is crazy! Must be all that muscle you have goin on ;)
  • I LOVE both programs for different reasons and I tend to do TF for cardio and CXE 3 days/week to build muscle. I love the HIIT sessions from TF but can only do them 2/3 days per week max. TF is a little tricky to keep up with and can be frustrating in the beginning but as long as you flop along with her you will burn a ton…
  • I hadn't either but they have been around for 100's of years apparently and are a super food, go figure. I started eating them to try to help my super sluggish disgestive system as physyllium as causing major bloating and not really working anyway. I have been eating 3T chai (added to shakes or make a pudding with them)…
  • I hear ya! I started my weight loss "journey" in Jan and have lost a measly 10 lbs so frustating! That being said though, I have been lifting weights and am seeing really nice results from that even though the scale does not budge. I also upped my cardio to 60 min 5-6 days per week (in spite actually as my doctors says I…
  • I was excited too until I saw that many were naturopaths, which could be totally fine but I lose faith in their objectivity when the prescribe a bunch of supplments which only they sell (did a few searches on some of the naturopaths on the list and found that was the case) and some of the reviews when I googled their names…
  • It is so frustrating, I have been at it since January and have lost 10 lbs but up and down all the way. I am seeing nice muscles though from the weights 3x per week and have to do an hour of cardio 5-6days per week to see any results and it is still slow going. So frustrating but if I give up I will just be tired,…
  • I am in BC so I hear ya about the range frustration but at least here my doctor will test my Free T4 & Free T3. My sister is in SK and I have made her go in and get checked as I am sure her thyroid is messed up too as it runs in our family. I am in the "normal" range as well my TSH was 4.38 at one time and I could barely…
  • I tend to do my cariod first too if I do them on the same day as after the weights I am totally exhausted! I have read it is better to do weights first too but when I tried that the other day, the cardio just did not happen ;) I thought I might do the cardio in the mornings and the weights at night as well but then last…
  • yes I was having the same problems too and had to up my calories from 1500 to 1700, plus felt so much better. For me this is a life time change, I still want to lose the weight as quickly as possible which is slower than for someone without thyroid issues I am sure, so I want to eat enough clean calories to not feel…
  • Last time I did the program I did not notice a huge change until I started the lean phase but I am thyroid challenged so guessing my results are slower than the norm. I had an injury so had to take a couple of months off weights so did cardio starting at 45 min and not do 60min 5-6 days per week and am noticing the fat…
  • you know debby I have gotten so used to just making my own dressing I don't even miss the store bought stuff anymore. My hubby got me hooked on his version, just drizzling olive oil, vinegar (apple cider vinegar is nice and extra health boost), salt & pepper and a touch of sugar. when I make mine, I now only use rice wine…
  • I have never been a big soy eater so I can't say for myself but I have read on many posts that soy is bad for hypo :)
  • Sorry I never get email notifications anymore, need to check my settings ;) I am not sure of the difference between butter & oil so I just get the organic virgin oil :)
  • you realy need to take photos as I found the first time around my scale did not budge nearly as much as most and my measurements stayed the same (I am horrible at measuring though) but I just took photos today as I am starting my 2nd round and HUGE difference from beginning. I had to take a break from the weights due to an…

  • wow great job Dot :) I am just starting Burn phase (2nd time around) and hope to see such awesome results this time with the proper weights :)
  • Chalene Extreme is awesome and is a full workout you can do longterm as she gives you several different phases that once you get through the first program you can mix up to keep your muscles guessing. You lift heavy with good form to see nice lean muscles quickly :)
  • I added them to my recipes but not sure if you can access them yet? The oil is 130 cal/T, cocoa is 15 cal/T and I use stevia with no calories so 145 for 2 chocolates the way I make them but it depends on the size of your mould. They are roughly 10 grams each though when I make them so I have 4 per day as I am trying to…
  • If you are in canada I got mine at SuperStore in the organics isle, almost missed it as it was way up on the top shelf but was so happy to find it at an easy location and reasonably priced :)

  • my sister is in SK :)
  • no problem....may be a little too good, I can hardly wait for tomorrow to have more :)
  • It is so frustrating isn't it :( My doctor said 2 months ago that I need to work out 1.5 hours a day to lose weight ( I immediately said "your an iditot"...ok just in my head but still) So, apparently I am very stubborn and bumped up my workouts to 60 min minimum on the elliptic trainer doing intervals of 1 min at a…
  • I know I make my own peanut butter for kids and thought, hey I will just make almond butter but that is out too :( I wonder if hazelnuts are ok? I do like walnuts too but probably would taste horrible as butter :) I don't know if it makes much difference but figured I would cut out for now until I reach my goal weight and…
  • I am not sure and only eat brocolli and cauliflower cooked as I don't like them raw. But from Jan-March I was LIVING on coleslaw (mixed with lean proteins and toasted walnuts - so yummy) so that could also be why my weight did not budge as perhaps it was taxing my thryoid? Who knows though really as it seems like there is…
