  • HI team! Quick update from me. I'm about to finish my 6th week of cut. Weight has been up and down, largely because of regular lifting (I aim for 2 - 3 times a week, and I go as heavy as I can). I've been doing a lot of walking, and then *usually* aiming for 2 intense cardio days (HIIT training) per week. My weight is…
  • Here's my 2c worth - if you find that you're consistently netting below BMR and having to eat back some exercise calories, you might wanna consider upping your activity level when calculating TDEE :)
  • Crocatilla - I'm definitely a believer in, if you feel like your body needs a rest from exercise, it probably does! Bumping this a little for both our sakes :)
  • Wow - you already looked fantastic in the 'before' picture, but definitely leaner in the second pic. Incredible!
  • This is a little hilarious! How are we all synced up?! ;) I also would like TOM to get the hell away from me. This ain't even the worst of the bloat yet. Kill me.
  • Fabulous! Can't believe how much flatter your tummy is after just two weeks! Great job :)
  • Thanks everyone for all of your advice. I think I've decided to just log the 'minutes' for strength training on MFP and only to log HRM calories for cardio, just to be on the safe side. If I find that there's no change at any point, I'll try bumping up 100 - 150 cals and see what happens. In any event, it's unusual for me…
  • Thanks Jen :) Any other thoughts?
  • WOW - I've been dreaming of the day I can finally post in this thread! So today is Day 1 of Cut for me  I just finished a full 8-week reset. I ate at TDEE of 2480 (and sometimes a couple hundred cals more than that!) for the whole 8 weeks, and for about 90% of the time I was consistently hitting that calorie…
  • Wow - this really spoke to me - the fact that your measurements didn't change and yet, you look INCREDIBLE after only 45 days, just goes to show that photos are probably one of the best indicators of progress! You are truly inspirational. Keep up the amazing work :)
  • Oh - I should mention: I'm cutting to 2180 on Monday and am absolutely horrified at how I'll make do with 300 less cals a day ;) This is from someone that easily netted 700 cals a day and felt full the entire day - that was as recent as June 2012!
  • Hey there :) Welcome to the EM2WL way of life! Some of us are literally eating double what we used to, and are still maintaining/losing. I went from about 1200 cals a day to 2480, without increasing gradually. Honestly, the first 3 - 4 days I struggled with feeling too full and bloated, but after those initial few days I…
  • I never thought I could, but I think I can safely say that I'm now at a point where, while I do keep tabs on what the scale says, I don't let it make or break my day, and can usually ignore the number. I'm much more interested in progress photos, and measurements with a measuring tape. That's when you can actually…
  • I definitely carry extra water after I lift. It'll creep on a few hours after I've lifted and will hang around for the next day or two - at which point it's time to lift again, so yes, I agree with the others in this thread that you just need to keep it in mind, and take a good chunk of recovery time every now and then to…
  • Wow, fantastic post OP! Great to hear that you're so clearly seeing such great results. I'm also going through a phase of suddenly noticing changes in my body that are SO exciting, and I haven't even started cut yet! Definitely confirmation for me that this WORKS. So very awesome. Best of luck on the rest of your journey :)
  • Hey RJ, Fantastic work to date! Don't be disheartened at the lack of (scale) progress, it's probably time for something new. I agree with the above poster that you should consider a reset. I'm also an ex-WWer, so I totally understand the scale obsession, and the concept that eating less and exercising more might mean…
  • Awwww, aren't EM2WLers nice? OP, sending you a friend request now (and some of you other lovely folk). Great to have a good support network :)
  • Hey kels, Firstly, thank you for sharing your story. It's inspiring to see how far you've come and I'm sure it took some real strength and determination - well done. I'm sure most of the holiday weight is water, and that once you get back into your routine a lot of it will drop off. Looking forward to your updates :)
  • Hey Blondie! I'm not on cut yet (starts on Monday ) but I totally agree that the main aim should be to lose body fat, however long that takes, because a VLCD is sooooo outta the question :) Bottom line - I'd rather lose body fat slowly than muscle mass quickly, that's for sure! Best of luck on your journey :)
  • Hey hey fellow resetters :) So I'm over halfway through my FINAL week of my 8-week reset. Getting very excited about cutting, although seeing 300 cals go bye-bye is definitely sad. Before I started my reset (and any strength training) I weighed 77.8kg - at the moment my weight has been holding pretty steady around the 79 -…
  • I usually gain 2 kilos (read: 4.4 pounds!) every time I get TOM, so I honestly wouldn't worry about the gain for now. Usually I find that a week after TOM all things are back to normal (and sometimes there's a loss!). Don't stress :)
  • You ladies are the best! Thank you. Freak out over :)
  • Fantastic! Just goes to show that slow and steady wins the race :) Well done!

  • Oh....my...GOODNESS. Okay, so over the past month I've noticed the EXACT same thing and just thought I'd acquired some new (VERY LONG) flyaways around my hairline, and that it was due to breakage/brittle hair. But OMG I just checked them after reading your post - SAME THING! TAPERED ENDS! FRESH NEW HAIR! WHAT ON EARTH?!…
  • Thanks for the reply Noor :) I'm just thinking - im still 0.6kg heavier than pre-reset - so do you think I should continue with my TDEE as is or increase for the final 2 weeks of my reset? If I finish my reset and am at the same weight (or only half a kilo or so heavier) maybe that just means I've lost the bloat/water…
  • Hi all. I posted this as a separate topic but thought I'd post it here too so that other resetters with the same question might get some answers :). I've been eating at TDEE of 2480 (occasionally 100-200 over that) for a full 6 weeks. During that time, in the first week and a half my weight jumped up from pre-reset weight…
  • Awesome advice. Thank you crocatilla and Greenrun!
  • Rosie, that's EXACTLY the kinda info I was after. Thank you so much :) P.s. You're a machine!!! Wow!
  • You look positively stunning. Well done. SO inspiring!
  • Fantastic results! You're getting me excited about going to cut in 2 weeks :)
