Urine Albumin Test ACE Inhibitor/Statins
Urine Albumin Test So I've never had this test before, but I recently switched doctors and this one says she does it yearly for all her diabetic patients. Mine was 100, and she says normal levels are 30, but no treatment is recommended until 300. HOWEVER, that being said, because any level according to her above 30 shows…

Please Help Decipher Thyroid Tests
So here are my levels as of yesterday. Free Triiodothyronine is 2.5 Free Thyroxine is 2.2 Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) 1.57 I do not have a thyroid. Best Lava Mug Cake Recipe
Best recipe I've found. I wanted to share this Mug Cake recipe. I usually don't care for them much but THIS one is much better than most! It's like a lava cake. I add butter to it or sometimes peanut butter. I also use butter instead of spray. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgMXbBUQhAk&sns=em Very yummy. I just had cake…

What's the latest on Quest?
So a lot of ppl used to rave on Quest. Then they changed their formula and o tried a free sample during that (which I didn't like). I'm reading reviews on Amazon and looks like they possibly changed their formula back? I like to have a bar option for when I really want one, but I don't like the Atkins bars my grocery store…

PB&J "Sandwich"
So if you close your eyes and squint this is kinda a PB&J. My daughter makes it all the time. Serves 2, so under 3 net carbs a serving if you use a tsp. of the SF jam on it. We also slathered it with butter. Mix dry and wet, normal Mug Cake (no sweetener tho) prep, nuke a minute or so.

Biscuits and Gravy? Yes, plz
Now I just need a tried and true sausage gravy recipe. I have one that's basically sausage and cream cheese but anyone have a favorite one? Cheddar Biscuits from the recipe on the back of the Carbquik box. Supposed to make ten at 2 net carbs each, but it actually made 12 in my whoppie pie pan. They aren't the real thing,…

Pinterest Lovers
Any other Pinterest mega-users on here? How do you use it? I've found it makes an easy "grocery list". I make a new board every quarter to change up what I'm eating. Then I use my phone and shop from that list at the store. It works great! I'm getting ready to make a new board for the summer quarter. Looking for other…

Dropping My Carbs to 20 - Food Ideas?
I've been a 40 net carber for a while and it's so much easier, usually end up with a day at anywhere from 25-40 net carbs on average. My new diabetic meds are making my out on weight like crazy. It's getting to the frustration point where it's demoralizing. I think I'm gonna drop the meds and go super low carb (20 total).…

Looking for the Hiking Poster?
Someone posted last week about foods to take hiking? I can find it? The MFP search option is next to useless at least on my phone it searches all the forums. Anyone remember what thread it was or who it was? Wanted to share this…

Low Carb "Nutella"
Anyone try this? It's described as Nutella's less attractive twin sister. lol. I thought that was a funny review. At one carb, I'm thinking of it as a strawberry dip. I'm not a Nutella fan but I am a chocoholic.

Quest Sour Cream and Onion Protien Chips
They came! Honest opinion. They taste funny at first. Kinda like a slight cat urine smell taste undertone in a sour cream and onion tortilla chip taste. I don't really know how to explain it. But as you eat them they taste better. I don't know if that's good or bad! They feel very much like a thick potato chip or remind me…

Zoodles Spiralizer
So I'm finally game to get on the spiralizer bandwagon. Reading lots of conflicting reviews. Anyone have a zoodle maker? Do you like it? What brand should I look for? Tips or advice? Opinions? Figured you guys would be the ones in the know. Recipe favs?

LCHF VS Low Cal
I'm not low fat. I'll never be low fat. IMO that's low taste. I almost bought these bagels today on Amazon. Then I saw the description. With this kind of "informative" description, I know exactly what they are gonna taste like. ;)

Can someone post a link to this forum?
I have a friend who desperately wants to lose but I can't seem to share this group? I'm on my phone.

Facebook Discussion
I almost hate telling my dieting story in Facebook. Cause as soon as I do I get concern. Usually asking them to google ketosis vs ketoacidosis ends that. Tonight I have this sent to me. What's your reply? "Are you guys monitoring your ketones with the ketosis strips? It is really important because if your carbs are too low…

MFP Challenges
Can someone explain the challenges to me? And use small words? I mean like the current Subway challenge. I join these things but why? What do they do? Does anyone ever win prizes in them? How do you know if you win? Have you ever won anything? Are they a complete waste of time. I get these... badges?

Meal Ideas Beta
What is this meal ideas beta link? And why are there only photos and ingredients and no recipes? That's useless. But more useless: based on my food logs why do they think I want to see pictures of foods with potatoes and white flour in them? /rolleyes

Anyone familiar with Byetta, Januvia, Trajenta
These are three meds my doc is considering since I can't do metformin anymore. Anyone have experience with these? Thoughts?

Help! Doc just ordered glipizide
Been type 2 several years now. Was doing ok with low carb (around 40-60 net carbs) for a year, but started to get higher numbers in the am blood test. Doc put me on glucophage, but my body will not tolerate it. Without any meds my am sugars are 140-160 and around 200 after meals (soar to 300 if I eat a lot of carbs). I've…

Lighter Post
A friend posted this and I had to share. THE PHYSICAL A woman went to her doctor for her yearly physical. The nurse starts with certain basic items. "How much do you weigh?" she asks. "120," the woman says. The nurse puts her on the scale. It turns out her weight is 150. The nurse asks, "Your height?" "5 feet, 8 inches,"…

Glad to see you're still here!
I'm back after a long absence. Been maintaining (and some gaining) mostly but I'm finding if I don't log, I end up going off diet at the end of the day. So, back to logging it is. Seventeen net carbs today, and feeling good. This forum is by far the best one here. :)

Golden Milk
Thot this deserved it's own thread. Thanks for the recipe! This stuff is amazing. Here's a picture of mine. I used this recipe http://wellnessmama.com/223/turmeric-tea-recipe/ only I subbed the sweetener for Truvia, and I added a spoon of coconut oil. It's hot and frothy - spicy and comforting. Perfect for my head cold,…

Carbquik Experience
So I'm pretty curious about foods. Lately I've been testing Akins frozen meals. Today I ordered some Carbquik. I'm hoping for decent pancakes. I've done the cream cheese/egg ones, but I wanted to try these instead. Anyone here familiar with the product? What did you use it for? It's a bit pricey, but 2 net carbs a serving.

Atkins Dinner Reviews
I want to give a shout out for the Atkins Beef Merlot frozen meal! I'm not real big into frozen dinners, but this week was going to be crazy busy so I thot it would be a good week to try four frozen dinners and see if I liked any. The Beef Merlot is really good! It tastes almost like my own pot roast! 8/10. As far as the…

Cholesterol Numbers
So, I just got back my numbers for the five tests they did. I don't want to post them, but I'm hoping someone out there is braver than me? What are your numbers and what is a good range I should be looking for? The ones I got are cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, HDL, and LDL ratio.

Homechef and Chef'd
So I guess Atkins now has teamed up with Chef'd to deliver ingredients and recipes to your home (which I think is a cool idea), each meal being 6-10 net carbs. Ppl on their ad are saying Homechef has a low carb menu and costs half as much (problem is their meals are 25-35 carbs! That's my whole day's worth!). Is there a…

Truvia and NET Carbs
So I use Truvia almost exclusively for sweetening (yes I've tried all the stevias, no I can't tolerate them), and I usually count each packet as three carbs, even tho they say they are nondigestible carbs and the packet has zero calories. So my carb counts (I only delete fiber) which I try to keep under 35 a day have been…
