binge before bed...
I just had a little bit of an MFP forum binge, and it's time to go to bed. My question is, is it ok to go to bed immediately following a binge like this? Or is it better to stay awake for a few hours. I heard 3 hours is a good amount of time. Otherwise all the bytes turn into megabytes and take up too much space on the…

Hats off to Specialty's
They managed to pack 1045 calories into their sausage egg and cheese sandwich. I commend them on this feat which seems to defy the laws of physics. Next time I'll will get 2 McDonalds Sausage McMuffins with Egg plus a hashbrown for the same calorie count, and better satisfaction.

Home gym users - Bumper plates?
Recently got myself a rack, bar, and set of weights. I'm quickly finding out that I probably need some bumper plates. I'm having a bit of sticker shock at the prices - looks like $2/lb at best. Here is my thinking. Let me know if this makes sense: I think I can get away, at least for a while, with 2 pairs - a pair of 10's…

Former fat weakling
I have kept putting off posting a "Success Stories" thread until some time when I feel "done", but let's face it, as long as I'm still alive, I will never be done. So I might as well post now, just so I can have a summary of the timeline and the story in one place. As time goes on, the dates and details are fading more and…

Affects of hypertrophy on strength and vice versa
Something I've been pondering... For the past 1.5 years (give or take), my focus has been on strength gains. Any hypertrophy has largely been a side effect. I was just pondering what would happen if I took, say, a year to focus on a hypertrophy program, and then returned back to a strength focus? Would the added mass let…
