Introduce yourself here
My name is Jeff. I am 48 years old. I am a married father of two teenage boys. I am an avid golfer and ex military (Navy). I recently completed P90X classic. I lost 16 pounds and got down to 10.3% body fat. It was a great program and exactly what I needed at the time. Now I am ready to put some muscle mass on. I have never…

General conversations
Did build legs two days ago. Wow am I sore today! Hard time moving my legs, especially squatting down. Guess it was an effective workout!

60 Day Progress
Well I finished 60 days of Body Beast. Thought I would post an update. I have seen improvements in all my measurements and visually I am starting to see a difference as well. I was in pretty good shape after P90X, so difficult for me to see as much progress as I want. The measurements show a difference though. so I know…

Tempo workouts
Have any of you tried the Tempo workouts yet? I see them as an option on certain days. I haven't tried them yet. Are they just easier versions of the same muscle groups?

My P90X success story
My wife and I started P90X on August 20th and found this site right away (Thanks for bringing me in Shawn Muth). I am amazed at the success I have had with P90X and even more impressed with my wife (intotennis). I had long wanted to do P90X but I felt my work schedule would not allow me to be successful. I was working 13…

Low heart rate??
Getting confused. I always have had a low resting heart rate as I have been a distance runner most of my life. My resting heart rate is typically around 48 bpm. When I have been doing P90X Kenpo X, the first few times my HR was up in the 120-150s most of the time. I burned 597 calories per my polar FT7 HR monitor last…

P90X macro question
I have been having trouble reaching my macros for the P90X fat burner program. I think I have finally figured out how to meet them with the help of some great advice on this forum. One question for all you P90X-ers out there. The fat burner nutrition program sets my calories at 2400 calories (level 2). If I burn an 740…

Need more protein...help appreciated
Well, I started P90X yesterday and the fat shredder food plan has you eat 50/30/20 macros for Protein/Carbs/Fat. I can't get close to the protein. I have an open diary, please take a look and see if you can help me. I am so full right now and have 473 calories left to get to my recommended (and after that I earned 741 more…

P90X support
I have worked rotating shiftwork all my life. 13 hour days. With a 45 minute drive one way to work, this left little time to workout. I have used my Bowflex 4-5 times a week for the past 3 years, I also get on my elliptical 30-45 minutes most days. I have long wanted to do P90X but didn't think I could commit 6 days a week…

HRM, elliptical readout or split the difference?
Just bought a new Polar HRM and a new Proform 18.0RE elliptical and have started to workout using both. I know machines tend to overestimate calories burned, that is why I bought a HRM. Problem is, I just did a 50 minute workout at a pretty good intensity and the Elliptical estimated 630 calories burned. The HRM calculated…

Looking for some new friends to help me get going again
Hey everyone. Not new here. Been logging for almost 200 days now. However due to my work schedule where I was working 13 hours a day with a 45 minute drive each way, 5-6 days a week for the past 4 months, I haven't been as dedicated about my exercising and eating/logging habits lately. Time to get serious again. That is…

Cardio and knee pain
Damn knee still hurting (old skiing injury that I recently tweaked while running). I had an MRI a few years back and it I was diagnosed with a small tear in my MCL that would eventually require surgery to correct. Have given it almost a week off since tweaking it and is still aching. I really want to keep up with my…

What does the person sending you a friend request see if you turn them down? I have never turned anyone down and was wondering. Do they get a rejection notice or just no response at all?

P90X question
How long does your P90X workout take? I like the results I am seeing on people who are doing it but.... I work 5-6 days a week and leave the house at 4:15 am and get home at 7:00 pm. Doesn't leave me a lot of time to work out. Right now I do a bowflex routine after I have dinner and let my food settle. Then a shower, 1/2…

Finally
After diligently staying under my calories and exercising, I finally moved off my plateau. Haven't lost an ounce in over two weeks.....before today. 174.2 lbs this morning on the scale. Haven't seen it less than 175 in years. Here's to hoping I can now continue down off this dang plateau. Happy Thaksgiving everyone!

John Mayer
Anyone else here love John Mayer's music? My wife and I sure do. We have seen him in concert 4 times now and can't wait til he comes back to Florida. Listening to him right now as I type. He is a really talented guitarist as well.

NSV today for me.
Went for a 2 mile run, lifted weights, ate well, and played golf (shot 77). When I got home from golf, hopped on the scale prior to getting in the shower and saw 175 (I am 6'2"). First time I have seen that number in a looong time. I know it will probably go back up a bit since I am sure water loss had some to do with…

Anybody else do this?
I will go measure out a bowl of tortilla chips for a snack with some salsa. When I see how small the bowl of chips is for 140 calories, I put them back in the bag. I tell myself I just can't "spend" 140 calories for so little chips! Happens to me all the time now, I look at foods and figure out how many calories are in…
