Low heart rate??

Getting confused. I always have had a low resting heart rate as I have been a distance runner most of my life. My resting heart rate is typically around 48 bpm. When I have been doing P90X Kenpo X, the first few times my HR was up in the 120-150s most of the time. I burned 597 calories per my polar FT7 HR monitor last Saturday.
Today I burned 212 for the same workout and had difficulty getting my HR above 100. Most times it was between 60-85. I was moving as fast and as hard as I usually do. My wife was even laughing I was doing the jumping jacks so fast and hard in an attempt to get my HR up above 100.
Figured something was wrong with the HRM. I stopped and took my pulse manually 3 times during the workout. Each time the HRM proved pretty darn accurate (within 2-3). I continued wearing the HRM while I am sitting here typing and it again reads 48, right where I know my resting HR always is.
Any idea what is going on. Seems impossible that in three weeks of P90X I could get so fit that I can't get it above 100. It is kind of depressing to work that hard for an hour and burn 212 calories.

Not sure what to say here, my RHR is around 45 now, and keeps getting lower. I just got back from shopping and it's 55. The only two things that get my HR up is heavy weightlifting in sets and running.0
