Has anyone lost a large amount of weight eating more?
I know I'm supposed to wait several weeks before making a judgement, but I've been eating at higher calories for over a month (up to 1600 from 1290 for 2 weeks, now at 2000 - netting 1850 BMR at the lowest) and still am looking at less than a pound total loss and no inches lost. I have a LONG way to go, I need to see…

Looking for MFP buddies who are also doing WW
Hi all! I've been a member of MFP for about 2 years and had success to start with, lost about 45lbs, and then went off track and gained 25 back. I decided last week to rejoin WW for a while to get my mindset back in the right place with making the right choices. I'm looking for some buddies who are doing the same thing as…

New here
Hi everyone. I've been a member of MFP since Oct 2011, but just joined this group tonight. I'm a binge eater. Have been for years, and I have no idea how to stop. I can do really well for a while, then it's like I almost don't care anymore and have no control and eat, eat, eat. I lost almost 50lbs in the first 6 months on…

Done my "diet break/reset" - starting cut as of yesterday
On Oct 15th I hit one year logging on MFP and decided it was time for a break from calorie cutting for my sanity and for my body (that's a long time to eat decreased calories!). So I did a sort of reset, eating at TDEE and sometimes above (oops) based on my Fitbit calorie burn. I had only planned to do 2 weeks but I ended…

Got my Fitbit average for about 2 months. Cut from that?
Hello :) I've tried EM2WL in the past, but gave up after not seeing any results on the scale. I'm sure I didn't give it enough time. I'm an 'instant gratification' kind of gal, unfortunately. Well, I went back to 1360 net calories for a month and lost my energy, gained inches in places I know can't be from muscle gain,…

Theme park NSV
I took my kids to a kid-oriented theme park on Tuesday - and I fit on every single ride, with room to spare - and I wasn't squishing them or struggling or anything :D 43lbs ago - I never would have fit. I had maybe 3 - 4 inches of extra belt on each ride, and since I've lost about 6 inches off my belly... well, the math…

How often do you measure?
I was going to give myself a month between measuring, but I'm reading how so many of you are dropping inches over a matter of a week and I may change that to every 2 weeks or every week even. How often do you measure? How about hopping on the scale? I do that once a week on Sundays (and sometimes I'll peek during the week…

Looking for some more SUPPORTIVE friends
Hey all :) My friends list is in need of some more supportive peeps  A bit about me:  I've been w/MFP since October, lost about 42lbs with around 80 to go. SAHM to 2, completed C25K last month and now run/jog between 15 - 30 mins 5 days per week w/some strength mixed in 3 days per week. I eat 1600 net, and am…

First week eating more, and I lost weight!
I was expecting to either gain or maintain for a few weeks while my body adjusted. But not only did I lose the 3.4lb gain I had from last week (I was seriously bloated from some major overeating the 2 days before WI), but I lost another pound on top of that, bringing me to a new low since starting this weight loss journey.…

Feels like too much food!
Yes, I know it's a mental block after years of thinking that to lose any kind of weight I need to be hungry all the time. But today is a rest day, and even though i have my daily intake set at 2200 (not watching net - just total intake); I feel guilty eating the 2050 I've got logged. I feel like I'm sabotaging myself by…

Help determining activity level please :)
I want to do this right. So I need help figuring my activity level so I can figure my cut. I would appreciate any feedback you can offer :) I currently do this: M/W/F - 25 mins on the treadmill (5 min warm up, 15 min run/jog, 5 min cool down), then work my arms on my JMBodyShop (knockoff Total Gym) for about 20 mins. (I…

Going to try this again.
I tried eating more a couple months ago and when the scale stalled out for 6 weeks I gave up and dropped back down. Well, 6 weeks later again and I'm still only down about 3-4 pounds, plus my energy dropped and I'm getting grumpy again, plus I'm getting back into my "stuff my face 2 nights a week because I'm starving"…

C25K completed!!!
I just did my final session of C25K! I cannot believe I am able to run 30 mins straight! 10 weeks ago I couldn't run for 30 seconds without feeling like I would pass out. So awesome how our bodies respond when we push them. I also hit the 1/3 mark for my weight loss journey this week. I'm a happy girl :-)

New to the group
Hi :) I was diagnosed hypothyroid in August 2010, but I suspect I have had the condition for far longer. I currently take 60mg Armour daily and for now my levels are good. I have a long way to go, weight-wise, but I'm feeling better than I have in years. I have more energy and I can actually think straight :D I also joined…

It's weird to eat this much.
I can't believe how much food I was able to eat today, all within my goals. I even got in all the protein I wanted to (143g - set at 25%, working my way up to 30%), while netting 50 above my BMR and not going over on carbs or fat. Went way over on sodium (as usual - working on that), but everything else was within range. I…

Which BMR do I use?
I get two very different numbers when I do calculations for both Harris and K-M BMR levels. Harris - 1832 K-M - 1410 So which one do I use??? TDEE for lightly active is 2507 (I work out 5 days per week, average burn 175 - 250 cals - I figured this fit better with lightly active since it's not mega burns). Based on that, if…

C25K week 4 - did I really just RUN for 5 mins straight?
:D Why yes. Yes I did. Twice. I also ran for 3 minutes twice. And I didn't fall over or feel like I was going to die. 6 months ago, I could barely run for 30 seconds. I started working out 5X week in January, walking on the treadmill and occasionally using the bike. I started C25K 5 weeks ago, did week 1 twice and then did…

Looking for some more SUPPORTIVE friends
Hey all :) I've been on MFP since October. I've lost a total of about 25lbs since starting my journey over the past Summer. I consider myself to be a supportive person and would love to add some more friends who will be willing to offer me the same support. About me: I'm 32, married with 2 young kids (5 and 3), work from…

Perspective
I've lost about 25lbs. Doesn't sound like a lot when you have 120 to lose to begin with. Well, I just carried a 25lb bucket of cat litter upstairs, and it was heavy. Six months ago, I had to carry that extra 25lbs everywhere I went, not just occasionally up the stairs. I still have 4 more buckets worth to lose. Wow!

60 days logged!
I hit my 60 day mark today!! Yay!! I joined MFP on October 16th, when I finally hit the point where I just knew this was it. If I didn't start right then and there it would never happen, after years of going up and down with WW and calorie counting and still being at my highest non-pregnancy weight ever. I don't know what…

Starting something like 30DS early in the journey?
I'm still very very far from my goal. I've been doing cardio 4-5 days a week for about 7 weeks, but I wonder if I should get something like the 30DS and incorporate that into my routine, maybe just twice a week? I know that one is meant to be 30 days back to back, but I figure it would still help to get some muscle work…

How often to re-evaluate calorie goals?
I just did my week 8 WI, down about 14lbs since Oct 16th. If I re-do my calorie goals it drops down to 1300 from the original 1395. Not a huge difference, but a difference. What do you guys do? Do you reset it every time you WI? Thanks! :)

The truth is a bit depressing
I know I'm fat. I've been fat for as long as I can remember and I know I didn't get that way overnight. But I realized this morning (well, I knew, but I really THOUGHT about it) that even if I average a loss of 1.5lbs per week, it will take me minimum a year and a half from this point to get to my goal. Yes, I know I'll…

NSV - jogging!
So this would not be much to most people, I suppose, but last night on the treadmill I was able to jog at 4.5mph - even if it was only for 2 minutes at a time. 6 weeks ago, when I started working out again and started MPF, I could barely keep up with a 2.5mph walk without feeling like I was dying or my knees would give…

SAHM with lots to lose
I've been on MFP for about a month, lost 9lbs (plus 8 I lost previously) with about 100 to go. I'm looking for more supportive/motivational friends to add to my list. Please add me if you are in a similar situation as me and we can help each other on this journey! :)

Not sure what to set my "weekly weight loss" or activity lev
Hi all :) Just looking for suggestions. I've been on here almost 3 weeks, lost 6lbs. I'm currently set at sedentary, with 2lbs per week loss desired. I'm finding myself hungry a lot, and going over a little and it makes me feel SO guilty (on average I'm not over more than 200 cals, and not every day) - most days I'm around…

Treadmill vs Stationary Bike
I have both. I can't go over about 3mph on the treadmill yet due to knee issues. I looked up both in the exercise listing and it says if I did the bike for the same amount of time as the treadmill I'd burn 50% more! Is that accurate? I don't have a HRM, I just started working out again and I'll need to save up for a good…

10 days today, and I feel fantastic :)
I lost 5 lbs at my first WI on Sunday, and today I had to tighten my belt! I know I won't continue with 5lb losses (I've been attempting to do the weight loss thing for over 15 years so I know how the start of a new program can jumpstart stuff, or it's just water), but it's still incredibly motivating to me to see anything…

On day 6 and boy am I hungry!
I know it's normal to feel a bit hungry when you start a new way of eating, and I dropped from an average of 2000 cals a day down to 1400 when I started MFP on Sunday, but oh boy am I hungry today! I ate a big breakfast to try to keep myself from overdoing it later, so hopefully that helps some. Anybody have any pointers…

Today is hard
I just had a mental battle with myself in front of the cabinet, thinking I wanted to eat but realizing I only have 400 calories left for the day and it's only 3:45. I literally teared up, I'm so incredibly frustrated that I have such a hard time with this! I didn't eat anything, I just poured a glass of water, but still.…
