BodyBugg/BMF calories burned off??
I have a BMF BodyBugg as well as a Polar F5 HRM. My BMF numbers have looked lower than normal lately, so decided to wear both devices to my high intensity workout class last night. BMF said 342 calories burned, HRM said 623! I seriously doubt the 342 number from BMF..I have worn it in the past to the same class with much…

Running in the Morning and Eating?
I run 3 x week pretty regularly, getting up early to fit it in before my husband leaves for work and I am on kiddie patrol. The alarm goes off at 6am, and I generally on the treadmill at my gym by 6:20-6:30 (live very close by), typically running 2 1/2 to 3 miles. I know it is better to eat 1-2 hours before a run for…

Mommy Tummy...
Ok, any ladies out there found any exercise, creams, oils etc that have helped you with shrinking the mommy tummy - short of surgery? I am almost to my goal weight, about 3 more pounds to go, and loving seeing the definition in the arms, shoulders, back and legs again - the only part of my body I am NOT happy with is the…

Transitioning to Maintenance ??
According to my sneak peak at the scale this am, I have met my goal of 25# lost! I am going to keep doing my thing until my "official" weigh in day Friday, but have started thinking about the transition from weight loss to weight maintenance. I would love to know what others have done, did you gradually increase calories,…

Good Workout DVD's?
Suggestions for really good workout DVDs you love? I have 2 of the Leslie Sansone walk at homes, which I love, a Windsor Pilates, a Kundalini Yoga, a Get Ripped DVD that are my regulars. I would really like a traditional yoga DVD, I do a Yogalaties (yoga and pilates combined) class once a week, but miss doing traditional…

How Often Do You Work Out??
Just taking an informal for my own information kind of poll. I am curious to know how often the successfull losers are exercising. I think I have to rein myself in a bit, I looked at the calendar today and realized I have exercised daily for almost 3 weeks. I am dropping inches faster than pounds...but this is also a TOM…

Taking Measurements the Right Way?
Can anyone tell me the correct way to be taking my measurements, or I guess let me know if I am doing it wrong? The waist is pretty easy - I measure at the most narrow spot. But where exactly do you measure on the hips? The widest part? At the hipbone? Closer to your butt?? I have read below the belly button and at your…

Lowering the fat in ground beef.
Found this info interesting, I couldn't verify the exact numbers here, but some other sites including one from the Journal of the American Dietetic Assoc came close. I have typically drained my ground beef, but not the other steps. I can get the 70/30 or 75/25 ground beef at our commissary for literally half the price of…

Working Out When Sick
 I have some lovely bug, pounding head and very iffy tummy for past 2 days. The bad news is no exercise whatsoever yesterday, able to do 3 miles day before but I did NOT feel good afterwards. Had maybe 1/2 my calorie needs last 2 days. Thinking I should ease off the exercise until tummy isin't ready to revolt at any…

Sansone Walk at Home users, HRM comparisons needed!
Just received my HRM in the mail today and used it with my Leslie Sansone Walk at Home DVD. I did 3 miles, which according to Leslie Sansone's site should burn about 375 calories. According to MFP, its also around 370 calories, this is assuming a 12 min mile/ 5mph, which is what the DVD claims. My HRM says 615 calories…

HRM Reccomendations??
After reading all the posts about people over/underestimating calories burned during workouts, I am thinking about getting a HRM. I know there are posts of people asking about specific HRM's, but guess I would like to know which ones are the favorites out there. Something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and is not…

Hello All!
New here SAHM to an absolutely adorable (biased review) 14 month old boy. Wife to US Army man, currently in KS. Have had chance to run around this site in the past but never really used it. I love the 'one stop shopping' for tracking calories and exercise and have already gotten started! Happy to be here!
