Baby weight and spin class results
Never thought I would post pics but here we go. In a struggle to see success stories about taking spin class I have decided to put myself out there in hopes of helping others. I'm a mom of a 9 month old via c-section. I gained about 35lbs. After fluid retention went away I was left with about 20 lbs to lose. 5 months of…

No sugar or sweetner bbq sauce recipes?
I've had success with a low(er) carb diet. We are having ribs tonight and my 100g carbs/day can't take store bought bbq sauce (18g in 2 tbsp!). Any recipes for some to make at home? I also don't like chemical sweetners sooo... I am not the biggest fan of sweet sauces so I think no sugar ones might be ok.

Diastasis recti and bent over rows
Is it normal to feel 'odd' in your upper abdominals post partum? I'm a year pp and have only really done spin classes since my c-section. I do have a bit of diastasis recti (3 fingers separation) but my doctor won't do anything about it. I've started Stronglifts 5x5 again and felt good with the squats and bench press but…

At home plates ideas?
I'm looking to restart Stronglifts 5x5. When I did it before the lowest weights I had at home were 1 kg plates. Adding 2 kg per lift just isn't doable for me and I don't feel like looking for lower weight plates. Anyone have at home ideas I could strap on to my bar? 0.5-1 lb ideas welcome. I have a regular diameter bar,…

How do you do calories for marinades? For example.. I made some chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes, there was at least 2 cups of liquid left which I don't drink and contains high cals like oil.

Strength training post c section
What has anyone done for strength training after a c section and when? I'm 12 weeks and have started spin and yoga. My core is still quite week so taking it slow is a must. Would stronglifts 5x5 be too ambitious?

Dietitian
I'm looking into seeing a dietitian. Any suggestions on what I should look for? I have some health coverage so I would like to use that which doesn't get me too far. I am finding a lot just seem to evaluate your diet and give a meal plan, should I expect more than this?

Why so quiet around here?
Anyone know why these boards have hardly had any input? I mean, I know the daily chat thread is pretty active but I find it is more about people's personal lives than lifting. Does anyone talk about their lifting anymore or is NROLFW no longer the workout plan to follow?

After being sick, when to get back to the gym?
I know the answer from most would be something along the lines of :listen to your body...". But here it is, I had the flu last week.. I'm talking couldn't get out of bed for three days or eat (lost 3% of my weight over those three days). Following that wonderful ordeal, I got a cold. Now, a week and a half later, I'm still…

Strength training - breaks and nutrition
I have been doing strength training for a few months now (maybe 4) following NROLFW. I have 2 questions... What do I gain from taking breaks between stages? I just took my first one between stage 3 and 4. I had a bad fear of losing interest with taking a week off but the book recommends. I also find a week long break after…

New Butt, new wardrobe??
I was always blessed, or cursed, with a large (in proportion to my waist) butt. Since I started lifting again, my butt has also started lifting (A La Kim Kardashian champagne glass kinda look). Now, most of my pants no longer fit, they are way too tight where they sit! Any suggestions on jean brands that would flatter…

Intervals
I'm about to start stage 2 (again). Last time I had a gym membership and did the intervals on the treadmill, this time around I have a home gym with 0 cardio equipment. Anyone do the intervals at home and what did you do? I'm in Canada and it is pretty much winter.. so anything outdoors is out of the question with the…

Home Gym - Floor
I want to set up a gym in my basement. It is plushy carpet with concrete below. Do I need additional padding? I have a piece of equipment with 4 exercises (pretty basic, not too industrial) and am planning on getting a bench with a barbell that could hold up to 150 lbs. I will be doing deadlifts but have never dropped a…

Increasing Dumbell Weight
I got some new adjustable dumbbells for Christmas because I am ending the gym membership and trying at home. They only go up to 20lbs and on some exercises I use 35lbs. Anyone have suggestions on what I can do to increase the weight without buying new dumbbells? I was thinking maybe some wrist weights... anyone try? I was…

Finding the time
What can I do? I play softball 3+ nights a week and work a full time job. I find the softball not to be enough exercise but I am so tired after and on days off that I don't want to do anything else. Anyone else fit in the gym with playing regular sports?

Compression Gear
Some people swear by it but I am not too sure. I have been having great pain in my quads from lactic acid and a few people mentioned trying compression shorts (stretching and rolling it out aren't working). My physio said it could be a thought but it doesn't work for everyone. Thoughts?

A sensitive subject
My fiance and I have been together for a few years now. He has never been a skinny guy, even as a kid always a bit bigger but those are the guys I go for :) Anyways, recently he has put on a bit of weight, not much, maybe 10 lbs which isn't a lot as he is around 240 but it seems most of it has went to his belly. . Well, it…

Vanity Sizing
Do you give in? I bought some new jeans the other day, and I was down a size from the same brand I bought 10 years ago (Silver). Because I am a discount shopper, and it was buy 1-get-1 free, I looked for another pair and the only ones I liked were a size lower that the ones before. So.. as good as the number on the pants…

Striiv friends
Hi, I just downloaded the app Striiv (a pedometer pretty much that was recommended by MFP) to to see how far I really walk at work and such (since I put my job as sedentary). Anyways, looking for some friends to add to my Striiv :) It looks like through email might be the least invasive way (this way no FB or giving away…

3 weeks to my beach body
So I'm not looking for a crash diet and I know 3 weeks is a short time but... What can I do to get my body more beach ready? I'm going to try to stick with my 1200 calories as I do see the numbers go down on the scale but that doesn't mean that my inches are decreasing really. I am also healing from a tibial plateau…

Shoulder Injury - Stationary bike
Hi, Anyone ever had a serious shoulder injury? I have just gotten out of my sling and have decent movement but little strength in my shoulder.
