June Starters - April 4th
So I didn't see a new week's topic yet. :) Everyone still bloated from Easter dinner? Q: "Where have you been?" A:"I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Wednesday morning. I've been eating soft foods up until Saturday so I wasn't logging." Good news is that I'm back to regular foods (just slowly and lots of nibbling over back…

Olive Garden
Deceptive little place isn't it? Common sense tells you to avoid the pasta, the cream soups and sauces.... Nothing rings a bell in your head when they bring out that nice salad for you. Until you get home and realize that since you ate two plates of salad your lunch was over 700 calories!!!!! :noway: :noway: :noway:…

June Starters - January 3rd
Hey all! I started the thread this week. The good news is I didn't do as much damage as I thought over the holidays. When I weighed in on Christmas Eve because of a doctors visit I was up six pounds. I nearly had a heart attack thinking that I still had New Years to go. I only gained 2.5 pounds over the 3 weeks I took off…

June Starters - December 14th
Last week: 267.4 This week: 266.2 Loss of: 1.2 pounds! Yay me. Back on track. And now that finals are finished (as of two hours ago) the stress I've been feeling over classes will be gone and I'll have a TON more time for working out. Just in time for another food filled holiday! Lol. Mini Goal - Down to 263 (Fourty pounds…

Struggling
So I'm struggling just a bit. I'm finding myself slip sliding backwards, falling off the wagon, being "bad", making poor choices, anyway you want to put it. I've lost 34 pounds (4 away from my senior year in highschool weight), I'm no longer "morbidly" obese according to BMI, I've been taken off of my meds. And yet with…

Anyone know anything about investing?
I'm looking into ways to invest some money. I'm a student but I get a large grant and I have a job that more than covers bills. Normally I blow the money over the months on frivolous things or make large purchases like a new vacuum (ours was 18 years old, it was time), a new laptop when my last one broke down, etc. It's…

Car wash lobby
Seriously... this lobby has a convenience store inside. Cards, sodas, and DOUGHNUTS. And chips and nuts. -_- I'm not hungry now but I'm stuck here until 11-12, and I'm sure I'll get hungry. At least the stuff isn't vending machine, so I can see the nutrition facts before making a REALLY bad choice.

Roller Coasters
So everyone here has had those moments when something they told themselves they'd never let happen.. happens. For me one of those things was I never wanted to have to use the "big" roller coaster seats. A couple years ago, that happened. And then worse. I needed HELP to get the seat pushed down far enough to click. I could…

Is plastic surgery inevitable?
I started MFP at 303 pounds. I've lost 27 so far, and I'm just wondering. When I make it to my goal, will I most likely need plastic surgery to remove excess skin? I mean losing 143 pounds is A LOT of weight. I'm 21, but I don't know if my "skin will snap back." Will working out with weights help this? If so does anyone…

Emotional eating
I am an Emotional eater. Its one of those things over the years that I've denied because I've always tried not to blame things for my problems, but it is something I need to address. I had a ROUGH day today, lost 2 friends over a difference of opinion and harsh words, etc etc etc. They hit a topic that hit way way way too…

Mini Milestone Goals Group
So I have a long way to go. I started this sight (again) in June at an all time high of 303 pounds. It was a nice sucker punch to the face that got me back on track and deciding that this is it, this is the time to change my life and turn things around. But.... I have 150 pounds total to lose. I've lost 12, which is great!…

Mini Success!
So I fit into my prom dress again. Albiet, I was big in high school, so it's not like "OMG I'm down to my high school weight again!" (more like, sweet I lost those extra 27 pounds I gained since senior year.. now to get to my middle school weight while being almost a foot taller!) But I nearly cried last year when I tried…

Couch 2 5K ???? Advice
Okay I've heard a TON of people talking about this Couch to 5K program... I've looked at it and wondering. Is it really that easy? I can't imagining being fit enough to run 3 miles in 2 months. I'm also heavier than some on here, I'm at 278 now. I really want to try this though, I need to get my bum off the couch! And with…

Mini Success
I can fit into my prom dress again. I know for a lot of people, their prom dress is towards the end of their goals, but I've been overweight so long... I'm happy I can fit into it again though, I can use it for UCF's homecoming this year. But I'll be happier when I have to take it to the tailors to have it altered…

Rant
Ugh! My grandmother got out cube steak for dinner tonight. I didn't think anything of it besides its sort of high on calories and fat (red meat after all), but I can afford it calorie wise today so I'll go ahead and not ask for chicken (again). Mom gets home and starts talking about breading it and frying it. I pointed out…

GREAT dinner.
Well I just had to post I'm really happy with myself for the dinner I made tonight. Chicken Fajitas.... at 300 calories a fajita. Wheat tortillas (96% fat free!) boneless, skinless chicken with a bit of oil to cook it, water and some seasonings. Refried beans (I looked at the fat free kind... turns out there's no calorie…

Logging beach exercise
So I'm going to the beach on Sunday for father's day. I usually spend a few hours (2-4) in the water just treading water and splashing around. Nothing too vigorous, but enough that I know I burn -some- calories. I don't have a HRM, so how can I log my exercise? Maybe cut my minutes in half (120 minutes of treading water…

9 lbs lost my first week...
I know my body is basically in shock from going from a 3500+ calorie diet to a 2000... I had trouble actually -meeting- my calories this week (amazing how easy that is when you eat fresh foods at home instead of Cheesy Bacon Cheeseburgers from TGI Fridays), but I kept my net calories above 1700 each day. So my question is,…

Miracle sweet berry.
So maybe some of you have heard of this berry from Africa. It apparently coats your taste buds for about 30 minutes to two hours, and it makes acidic and sour things sweet. I was wondering if anyone had tried these? They're expensive ($3-$5 a berry, $2 a piece for tablets), so I want to try them and see if they'll help me…

Trying to catch the wagon...
So I've been struggling with my weight since middle school (ten years). I'm young, I'm turning 22 at the end of next month, and I'm 5' 9" and... 303 pounds. Ack. My BMI is somewhere in the 40 range, and I've developed insulin resistance (which my doctor has reminded me is basically one tiny step below diabetes). My mother,…
