Today is the day - I REACHED MY GOAL WEIGHT! (w/pics!)
I joined MFP on January 11, 2012. This is me about 2 weeks prior to joining. I am assuming my weight was around 200 lbs. My official starting weight on MFP was 197. And this is me today - 37 pounds lighter. I attribute my weight loss to my running, and of course, my eating. I did C25K, and also used our Total Gym here and…

Does Anyone use the Pepperplate App for their Kindle?
I am contemplating getting this app for my Kindle. I have so many freaking recipes, and I can't keep track of them all. Does anyone use it? Do you know if you can sync your kindle with the website? I don't want to have to enter all my recipes directly on the kindle - it's easier to do it on the computer. I downloaded the…

NSV - Hubby got a new woman?
Yesterday, as I was walking home in my neighborhood, I ran into one of my neighbors that I haven't seen in a while. We chit chatted for a while, and she repeatedly complimented me on my weight loss. She told me that a few weeks ago, she drove past, and came home to tell her husband that the neighbor lady (me) must have…

Training a Friend
A good friend of mine has asked me to help her lose weight. She saw the results that I achieved through running and watching my diet, and has asked for my help. I promised not to let her die (she has always joked that she doesn't run because she has a fear of dying LOL), if she promised that she wouldn't give up after the…

Tony Little Ab Lounge Xtreme ???
Does anyone use this for ab workouts? I got one for FREE and I'm just wondering if I should spend my time on it. I did use it for a few reps, and it feels like it is working the muscles it is supposed to. Just curious if anyone out there has one and either loves it or hates it.

I DID IT!!!
My goal when I began my journey in January of this year was to be able to run a 5k. I was determined that there was no reason I could not run this distance. I downloaded the Ease into 5k app, and signed up for MFP. Along the way, I have lost just about 35 pounds, but have gained so much more - self confidence being the…

Strapless bra question
Can anyone recommend a good one??? I HATE them with a passion because they don't give me nice shape at all. I normally wear a 34DD in regular bras - so I NEED good support. So many cute outfits I want to buy, but I would need a good strapless bra, and I just can't find one that makes me look normal ! Thanks :)

For the Runners
Good article, and the girl in the pic graduated from high school with me :) http://www.runnersworld.com/article/1,7120,s6-238-267--14370-0,00.html

NSV!!! I WON!
So, I never win ANYTHING, ever. I participated in a 10-week Active For Life challenge at my work, which is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Basically, you set a weekly goal of physical activity minutes and I also set a weight loss goal. You log your activity minutes for each week, and I also kept track of my…

NSV!
Officially signed up for my first 5k that will be on July 21. I was going to wait until the fall to do my first one, but I'm ready now! I'm so excited, and proud of myself for coming from not being able to jog for 30 seconds just 5 months ago to being able to do a full 5k in about 40 minutes. It is not a record speed, but…

Today is a GREAT day! :)
I drug my butt out of bed at 5am today to get in a morning run. I have really been slacking on getting up so early, and instead have been doing my runs at night. With our busy summer schedule - I NEED to get them in in the morning, or I don't get them in at all. I jogged just shy of 2 miles (1.8 mi according to…

30 DS and C25K ?
So, I have been doing C25K and am in week 7 (almost done!!) I have lost about 17 lb over 9 weeks. I have hit a plateau :( Typically after I finish my runs, I get on the Total Gym and do arm workouts, plus I do some squats and crunches. My stamina for jogging has increased tremendously, and I am starting to see nice…

For those who have done 5k's
I am intending to sign up for my first 5k since I've started running. I'm so nervous, and I'm trying not to get too hung up on the fact that I am a slow runner. I don't consider what I do running - more like jogging. I know speed comes with time, and I just need to keep at it. Right now, it takes me just about 40 minutes…

NSV - I lost it!
And thank God I found it! I was loading my purchases into the shopping cart after checking out at BJ's, and I heard something clang through the metal cart and bounce off the floor ..... it was my wedding ring. I quickly picked it up and shoved it in my purse ... don't want to lose it for good! I guess it's time to visit…

Feeling Overwhelmed
I started getting serious about changing my lifestyle in January of this year. I had been doing really great sticking to my workout routine (3-5 days per week) up until a few weeks ago. It seems like since the weather has gotten nicer, we have so much more going on and I am finding it harder to fit in my structured…

20 pounds down with pics!
When I log into MFP each day, one of the first things I do is come to the Success Stories and check out all the new successes on the boards. The progress pictures that you all post inspire me to keep going, so I hope that I can be an inspiration for someone else. A little history on me - I have always been the chunky girl…

Shopping Over my Lunch Break :)
I went to Ross over my lunch with a co-worker looking for skirts since all of my pants are too big. They didn't have much of a selection of skirts, but I found 3 dresses (tried on 6) that I liked. I couldn't decide, so I bought all 3. I can honestly say that I liked what I saw in the mirror for probably one of the first…

10?!?!?!??!
Holy S*#%!!! I went shopping today and just for kicks tried on a pair of size 10 capris and ... THEY FIT AMAZINGLY!!!! Edited to add: I have NEVER worn a size 10 in my life. I have been a 16 for almost forever, and briefly went to an 18 before getting pregnant with my first son. That totally gave me the…

NSV's for me!
This week marked my first 20 pounds lost! I have had lots of NSV's along the way, just today: - I had to put an extra hole in my belt and cut the end off because it was way too long! - A co-worker ran into me in the bathroom and asked me if I lost a lot of weight because she can tell. I really didn't know what to say back…

20 pounds gone!!!
I could have sang the hallelujah chorus this morning! 20 pounds gone forever! I don't think I've been this "light" since before high school! What a great feeling! I need to get my hubby to take some pics tonight. They can then serve as my before pics for 30DS!

Bummed :(
I went to have my leg checked out today for the pain I've been having during/after running. They are pretty sure it is a pull in my calf muscle. Their only advice - back off on my running distance .... like only run 1/2 mile for 2-3 days per week and build up. I'm disappointed, but glad it is not something worse. I'm just…

Anyone Use Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Inserts?
I was having shin splints in my left leg, so I bought good running shoes. Now, the pain has moved from my shin to my inner leg. It is hard to describe the exact location. I have some discomfort while running, but when my workout is done, I sometimes really limp around. I think part of the issue is that my left foot is…

Hummus?
Who loves hummus? I have never tried it but I want to. What does it taste like (obviously, hummus, but what is it similar to)? Are there certain brands/kinds that are better than others?

I think I've reached a plateau.....
So, I've been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs for about 2 weeks now. I just can't seem to get my body to go any lower. I'm REALLY anxious to drop another pound from my lowest number to get into the 170's! I lost relatively quickly - an avg of 1.75 lbs per week since January 6, and I know it will come off more slowly, but…

Question about Jogging Strollers
I recently started C35K, and I'm ready to take my jogging outside. I would like to get a jogging stroller so that I can take my kids with me when I run. My youngest is 2 1/2, and he is our last child. I don't want to spend a lot of money since I'm really not going to be using it for much longer. I am unsure of what I…

Looking for a new bathroom scale ....
Our current scale is a Taylor digital scale. It displays in .5 increments. We have had this scale for probably about 10 years or more. There is nothing wrong with it, but I would like to get one that displays in lower increments and also one that analyzes body fat. I know it is not going to be as accurate as a professional…

NSV .... I think :)
I was lying on the floor on my stomach playing a game with my kids over the weekend. My hubby decided to lay down on the floor with us and use my butt as a pillow. He told me I needed to stop working out because my butt was too hard to use as a pillow now. :blushing: And that, my friends, motivated me to push even harder…

Any Polar FT7 users?
I just used my Polar FT7 yesterday for the first time. I think it is accurate, but wanted opinions from others using it as well. I did a 3-mile jog, and my average heart rate was 167 for 43 minutes. It told me I burned 466 calories. That sounds like a lot, but I compared it to an online calculator, and it was pretty close.…

Half-way to my 1st Goal!
I'm down 15.5 lbs as of today!!! That is half way to my original goal of 30 lbs!!! I have lost the weight of both my babies when they were born! Woo HOO! I am so motivated to keep going! I can finally look at myself in the mirror and not be disgusted!

My NSV's!
Yesterday - I ran a half mile! I hated running all my life - mostly because I would get winded so easily, and I felt like I looked like an idiot while doing it. I started on January 6 getting on our treadmill faithfully every other day and going about 2 miles. I started the C25K about 2 weeks ago (started on week 3 since I…
