I drug my butt out of bed at 5am today to get in a morning run. I have really been slacking on getting up so early, and instead have been doing my runs at night. With our busy summer schedule - I NEED to get them in in the morning, or I don't get them in at all.
I jogged just shy of 2 miles (1.8 mi according to mapmyrun.com) in right over 22 minutes - and the best part - I JOGGED THE ENTIRE DISTACE WITHOUT STOPPING!!! I am ecstatic considering that just 6 short months ago, I could barely jog for 30 seconds without feeling like I was going to die.
I have been on the fence for signing up for my first 5k - but after my two most recent runs, I think I'm ready to commit. If all goes according to plan - I will be doing my very first 5k on July 21! Bring it!
When I stepped on the scale today - I am 1.2 pounds away from my original goal weight that I set when I joined MFP.
I am totally on cloud 9 today! Have a great day everyone!
