Anyone Use Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Inserts?

I was having shin splints in my left leg, so I bought good running shoes. Now, the pain has moved from my shin to my inner leg. It is hard to describe the exact location. I have some discomfort while running, but when my workout is done, I sometimes really limp around. I think part of the issue is that my left foot is almost a size smaller than my right, and also wider. So, I think I'm going to try inserts.

Does any one use the Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit ones that they sell at Wal-Mart? That is what I'm considering looking into.

Do toe lifts to build the muscle in your shin =] and ice them.

As far as inserts I have super high arches so they really make a difference in comfort for me!

I don't think it is my shin muscle. I have tried moving my foot in all different positions to recreate the feeling, and I can't do it. The only way for me to get it to hurt is when I'm walking. I think it has something to do with a low arch for me ..... :/

When I went to the machine and saw the price, I decided I didn't want to try them anymore. LOL!

Just because you bought "good" running shoes doesn't mean they are the right shoe for your foot. Something like 70% of people are wearing the wrong size shoe. Go to a specialty running store and have them size you and fit proper inserts. Even if you don't buy the shoe, at least you'll have better information next time you shop.

I purchased these for my 10 year old son who has severe flat feet, under advice from his Dr. Since getting them he has yet to complain about ankle or foot pain. (Which was something he did on a daily basis) I'm happy with them, and they were much cheaper then traditional arch supports from a podiatrist.

There was a $7-10.00 rebate online a few months ago. Not sure if it's still available.

Yep - printed out the $10 rebate thing online already :) That will make it not hurt the wallet quite so much!

Then I think inserts will work awesome for you!

My mom worked in a podiatrists office as his assistant for a long time and she said everyone would benefit from using them since we all have different shaped feet.

My ankles are rotated in a bit and that causes me some pretty bad knee problems when I run and the inserts even kinda help that.
