Any Metal/Hardcore/Punk/Rockabilly fans in here?
Hey, I'm a weird mix. But I truly enjoy metal especially GWAR and Sonata Arctica and old punk - the Germs, Iggy Pop, etc. Just trying to connect with any other metal heads on this site. I'm also friends (like actual friends not "friends on Facebook") with Los Gatos Locos and Mobile Death Camp. Both excellent bands. Just…

Here's my issue: I have some awesome shorts and though I've lost a bunch of weight none of it seems to be in or around my ghetto booty. My thighs still touch when I walk a plague that has struck me down since I was freaking 13. It causes one side…

I want to get one of those calorie/exercise tracker devices because I do a lot of workouts alone and a lot of them I'm guessing at how many calories I burn (Like my fat burning yoga or hula or walking a mile up and down the hill by my house, running in the woods, hiking and even strength training). The Fitbit is offered on…

*Posted this in Food & Nutrition first, whoops! My husband is not dieting with me so finding a recipe for dinner we both can agree on sometimes presents a challenge. I made this last night on a whim. I had no recipe to go by so this is my own. It was so good I thought I'd share. This recipe is not open for criticism, just…

I Refuse...
I get it we're supposed to be eating healthier and believe me for the most part I do. But I love to cook and sometimes there are no substitutes for bacon grease, fat, white bread, salted butter, beer and real beef. I love to cook and I was trained by an Italian mother and a Japanese/Hawaiian Grandmother as well as a…

I ran 7.8 Miles this morning... In 80 minutes with A LOT of really big hills. I walked to the bottom of my giant hill, met up with my running partner and we ran 7.8 miles in just about 80 minutes... I AM BEAMING WITH PRIDE... and icing my shins. That is all I wanted to say.

RUNNING PEOPLE ... Hear Me!
Hey, So I just ran 4 miles for the first time today. It was a trail run with a lot of hills so I am amazingly proud of myself. Conversation Switch! WHEN RUNNING, I listen to my iPod (yes, even in nature), usually to a lot of metal and hardcore and punk and kind of angry music to get me to run a little faster and get out…

Running Shoes Conundrum
Greetings, Okay so I need to get good running shoes and everyone tells me to go to a specialty shop (because I have bad knees, etc. etc). There is one nearby but here is my questions if I go to the specialty shop, do I have to buy the shoes there? I know that's kind of jacked up but I'm not rich and while I do need the…

Running Support - How Do I get that Stamina or endurance?
ALOHA! I have been trying to get into running because I honestly LOVE IT (It makes my mind go quiet). But I find I'm not able to get my endurance up to where I need it. I make sure I'm well hydrated and I focus as well as I can but I can't seem to break the 1-mile marker at anything faster than a 11 minute 30 second mile.…
