Not new, trying again
Years ago did MFP when all options free and did well. A few years later used WW and did well then life happened. This is not a New Years Resolution, this is more self care. Long story short, I have childhood trauma attached to weight and food so this is a struggle even if I am successful.

Me learning about me
So, this is my latest blog. How many people have and are going through this? I feel pretty alone, but I don't think that is true. I am not sure if I have said this previously, but I am finding two things this time around. 1. I do not like talking or letting people know I am watching what I eat. I think the pressure is too…

Turning 40 in November and feeling defeated
Years ago before MFP became really popular and before my second child I lost 50lbs. Gained it all back with kid #2 and 4 years later I can't seem to motivate myself or keep motivated. I am turning 40 in November and am unhappy with myself regarding my weight. The people I have in my life support me, even co-workers are…

Inspiration for others and myself
I have had a really tough time getting back on track since my second son was born 2 years ago. Then I met Jake (new sales guy at my job) and Ashley (admin at my sons new academy). Jake weighed over 450lbs and used MFP long with exercise to get back on track. He has lost 250lbs and is doing great. Ashley over the past year…

Epileptic drugs and weight gain
I have been on some kind of anti-epileptic drugs since I was 21. At that time I was about 15lbs over weight. Once I got on the anti-epileptic drugs (Carbamezapine) I gained a ton of weight. I never ever weighed that much. It felt like it took no time to gain the weight. Fast forward, I was changed to Topamax which made me…

NSV Yesterday!
Yesterday was my first day of C25K. The first time I did this last summer I would give up after the first 15 minutes. Not last night! I pushed myself to finish. Then I not only drank my 64oz of water, I actually drank a total of 88oz of water. This is highly impressive for me.

Vampire 5k, Any pointers for new runners
Last year I started C25K and quit after 3 weeks. I just signed up for the Vampire 5k in Atlanta. What was I thinking? I have around 11 weeks to get my butt into a 5k. Am I crazy? Any pointers for new runners? I already have the C25K app on my phone.

Ellipticals, which one
I want to start exercising again and the treadmill gave me issues with my legs. My husband also can not use the treadmill. He needs something more low impact. My question is what Elliptical do you recommend that will not take up too much room and works really well. Thanks in advance!

NSV - People are noticing
I may have not lost a lot of pounds, but people are noticing. What a great feeling. I must say it is the best encouragement that people are noticing. I am feeling like I did when I originally lost almost 50lbs. I am so excited now! What a great way to start a Monday morning.

Tough time getting back into it - Suggestions Pls
So, back in 2009 I started MFP and by September 2010 I was at 194. I was just shy of losing 50lbs. Well, then I got preggers with my second. I gained everything back with the pregnancy. Having a hard time getting into the groove
I have been a member of MFP for a very long time. Before I got preggers I lost just under 50lbs and was in Onderland. In my pregnancy I gained all the weight back. Since having my son last June I now only have another 25lbs to get to pre-pregnancy weight. I am having such a hard time getting back on track. I was doing…

Back in the saddle and ready to go...
Hello to all my old friends on here and hello to any new ones I may acquire. I have been on MFP for a while on and off. I got pregnant in September 2010 and gained 50lbs, basically all the weight I had lost using MFP. Once I had my son I felt defeated. Since he was born I have gone up another 5lbs from my weight when I got…

A moment to say thanks...
I want to take the time with this post to say thank you. Thank you to my husband for his encouragement. To my son who keeps me running around all day :-). To my mother in law who always told me "If the time is going to pass anyway, you might as well do something with it". (This statement made me go to college and continues…

Question: Do you think food is an actual addiction like drug
I personally from my own experience I believe this to be true. It was not for the longest time, but as stress emotional issues started I would use food as my escape. Isn't this what a drug addict or alcoholic does also? Even when full, I could still eat. All I would think about was what else can I eat. Of course the…

Wow! I can't believe it...
When I started my journey I was 237.8lbs and a size 22 in pants and 2x in shirts. This is the heaviest I ever was. Right now I am 196lbs and size 16 (this is a regular 16 not a woman's 16) and a large-medium shirt depending. OMG!!! I cam so excited that I can't purchase items from Avenue anymore or go to the "plus" size…

Rough time, but I am back! Maybe TMI
Ok, I have been MIA for a while. Life has thrown me a few curve balls. This includes some backs issues and I also miscarried. So, even though I have been through so much I have only gained about 4lbs back from the 36lbs I lost. I am happy to say I am back on the horse and ready to start losing again. So, I should be around…

Success in daily life...a little long.
So, I started on MFP way back in March. Well, I did great until summer hit. I had tons of weekend vacations, parties etc. I lost a little, but not much. For a while I was floating around in the same 4lbs. (Confession: I stopped using MFP) Then my big vacation to Disney was here. A week in Disney. I was determined not to…

Calling all NY Yankee fans
If there are enough of us I would like to start our own group. Please post and let me know. My name is Michelle and I grew up in Port Jefferson Station, NY. In high school I was 125 and at 5'2" I was told I was obese and needed to lose 20lbs. This is when my eating issues started. I would almost starve myself to keep that…

21lbs down!!! = Which is 20%
So, I have lost my first 20lbs. Now I started to think about what sounds better measuring my progress in lbs or percentage lost. 21lbs=20% Not that I really need more encouragement since I am SO EXCITED about my 21lbs, but to think I have conquered my first 20% sounds amazing to me. Either way I am doing the happy dance…

Wow! 17lbs lost in 8 weeks!!!
It is hard to put into words how I am feeling. I have not really paid too much attention to the way my body feels since this has been very emotional for me. I am doing so well thanks to MFP. Although, my dedication to weigh my food, measure my food and keeping my food log has really helped. Let's not forget watching my…

Chocolate is not my friend and defeats me easily. With that being said I am still having my chocolate. This is really helping me keep on track. Now yesterday was difficult for me. Just started...but
i only starting watching my calorie intake and trying to watch what I eat for a few weeks now. Now, as of my last weigh in on saturday I have lost a total of 7lbs.
