So, back in 2009 I started MFP and by September 2010 I was at 194. I was just shy of losing 50lbs. Well, then I got preggers with my second. I gained everything back with the pregnancy. After I had my son I got back down to 215 last summer and since then have had the hardest time getting in the groove and staying focused. I keep saying this is it and I just keep failing.
No I am not going to give up. In fact yesterday and today I have been doing very well. I think what I need is some encouraged, mini goal and some results. I just don't the umph to do it and I don't know how to get it back. I am at the point where I want to cry.
With all that said above, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my drive back?
Thanks in advance all.
Mish

Do it for yourself and for that precious little person whose pic we see in your avatar! That's good motivation! Also, take baby steps. Don't try to do it all in the first few days. Weight loss doesn't happen like that. Eat your allotted calories and exercise as many days as you can. Weight gain doesn't happen overnight and weight loss won't either. Best of luck to you!0

Join some groups. Bust A Move is a great one. It's weekly challenges. Sometimes it very motivational to join the Groups and check in!!!0

Perhaps this is just overwhelming because you're taking it as a huge goal/big picture kind of thing? I think your idea to break it down into shorter term things (not even weight loss, but other things) will make it a bit easier. Find something that you enjoy doing, and do it. If it's an hour of playing outdoors with the little ones, do that. If it's going on a bike ride a few times a week, perhaps that is the way to go. I have found that the only way I can keep motivated is to NOT focus on weight loss, but rather how I feel and the little things that push me to keep going. If the only thing you have to gauge progress on is weight loss or measurements, it can get really hairy/discouraging, and quick. I can completely identify with your frustration - and I think many of us have been there - but finding the motivation must come from within, and I think the best way to find that is to do something you love and want to stick with long term, so that you can see your improvements. I would also suggest that making small changes rather than huge ones is going to be very beneficial to your long term goals. Thinking that we have to lose "x" pounds in a certain amount of time can be a nice motivator, but if we don't meet it, then we think we've failed... and that simply isn't true. I would challenge you to find one thing today that you can change permanently... just one small thing, and then go from there. You can do this... you really, truly can! Hang in there.0

If you don't want to do it, don't do it. Simple. No magic formula.0
